Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Episode #41 "Her Cups Runneth Over": When Peggy's bra is discontinued, Al and Steve go to Wisconsin in the hopes of finding some. On what day does this episode take place?

Answer: Peggy's birthday

Peggy, already feeling old from celebrating another birthday, is further dismayed to learn her bra has been discontinued. After several failed attempts, Peggy is forced to come to terms that she will never find a perfect new bra. Steve tells Al he knows a place in Wisconsin that might have Peggy's old bras and the two travel there to find them.

This episode is the one that made "Married...with Children" famous. In the early seasons of the show, Fox (the station that aired the show) was only available in a few media markets. A woman in Michigan named Terry Rakolta petitioned Fox to cancel the show because of the subject of this episode which included (among other things) Al and Steve's risqué trip to the lingerie store. Advertisers began dropping their sponsorship as a result. However, Rakolta's outcry only made the show more popular as people from around the country wanted to see what all the fuss was about and the rating jump dramatically and launched the show into the national spotlight.
2. Episode #42 "The Bald in the Beautiful": Who left Steve the ad for the baldness cure that made him think he was losing his hair?

Answer: Marcy

Steve finds an advertisement on his desk for a man's hair loss cure. Steve becomes worried that he is losing his hair and convinces Al that he is too. Steve and Al try many different baldness cures but none of them work. They join a club for bald men which makes Al realize neither he nor Steve are bald.

It later comes to light that Marcy had left the ad for Steve because on the other side there was an ad for tuna and it was his turn to do the shopping. Steve had read the wrong side of the paper.

She brings Steve, Al and Peggy with her since they are only having good luck. The plane hits severe turbulence on the way and the pilot says the plane is about to crash.
4. Episode #44 "Requiem for a Dead Barber": What is the name of Al's barber who dies in this episode?

When Al's barber Tony dies, he has trouble finding someone to cut his hair. He refuses to go to a salon like women do so he lets his hair grow long. Eventually, he discovers a new barber: Tony's father who is over ninety and blind but cuts hair just like Tony did.
5. Episode #45 "I'll See You in Court": Al and Peggy and Steve and Marcy sue a motel that secretly filmed each couple making love. What is the result of the lawsuit?

Answer: The Rhoades win a small amount of money, the Bundys win nothing

Steve and Marcy recommend a little love motel for Peggy and Al to visit. While their, Al and Peggy discover the adult movie left for them is actually of Steve and Marcy who were secretly recorded. Both couple sue for invasion of privacy because they were both videotaped. Steve and Marcy received $50,000 which was far less than the million dollars they had asked for. Al and Peggy receive nothing because the jury deemed their love making insufficient.

This episode is considered to be the so-called Lost Episode. It did not originally air in the U.S. until 2002, over a decade after it was first scheduled to premier and five years after the series ended. It was pulled because of the outrage over "Her Cups Runneth Over". It did, however, air as scheduled in other countries.
6. Episode #46 "Eatin' Out": After inheriting money from a relative, the Bundys decide to go out to eat at a fancy restaurant. What is the inheritance money ultimately spent on?

The kids, however, have plans of their own and take the money and go to a concert because their parents had already had their meal. This forces Al and Peggy to plan creative escapes from the restaurant.
7. Episode #47 "My Mom, the Mom": Which of the following is something Peggy taught Kelly's class at career day?

Answer: How to steal a wallet from your husband's pants

Kelly tells Peggy she has to bake 800 cookies for mother-daughter career day. Peggy, who hates baking, tricks Marcy into baking the cookies for her. Marcy also convinces Peggy she should go to career day as she is a homemaker, an undervalued profession. Peggy is embarrassed by the other mothers who all have fulfilling careers.

However, Peggy becomes the most popular mother when she begins teaching Kelly's friends how to avoid work, house chores and many different ways to deceive their husbands.

Answer: Tap

When Kelly vandalizes the tap club's bus and calls them geeks, she is forced to join the club or be expelled. Kelly hates tap and her popular friends quickly turn on her. Al makes things worse when he talks to her principal who now forces Kelly to perform at a recital. At the recital, however, Kelly performs her own personal dance routine.

Embarrassed by how much income Peggy is making, Al takes a secret second job at a space-themed fast food restaurant.
10. Episode #50 "The Harder They Fall": In this episode, Steve is being threatened by a man who used to be prisoner. Why is this man after Steve?

Answer: Because Peggy gave him the bird

Steve and Peggy are driving their own cars when another driver cuts off several lanes of traffic, including Steve and Peggy. Peggy gives the man the bird but the man, who has a bumper sticker that reads "I Love San Quentin" mistakenly believes it was Steve who flipped him off.

The man begins threatening Steve so Steve invites the rough and tough Bundys over to his house when he confronts the other driver.
