Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Episode #61 "Tooth or Consequences": In this episode, which character has a severe toothache but is too afraid to get it checked out at the dentist?

Answer: Al

Al comes down with a toothache but absolutely refuses to see a dentist until the pain is too much to handle. Marcy, who loves the dentist, recommends hers to Al. When Al visits, his teeth are in such bad condition that he needs extensive, painful work done. Meanwhile, his dentist is having an affair with his hygienist and is angry (and drunk) from his divorce proceedings.
2. Episode #62 "He Ain't Much, But He's Mine": What is NOT something the attractive woman at the beauty salon says about the married man she is seeing that makes Peggy think Al is cheating with her?

Answer: He goes bowling a lot

Peggy and Marcy meet an attractive woman named Ginger at the beauty salon who informs them that she enjoys sleeping with and dating married men. She specifically says that it is very easy to please a married man because all they want is attention if their wives are lazy and don't cook for them. She also mentions that the married man she is seeing at the moment hates the color red. This is what leads Peggy to believe Ginger is seeing Al.

It is Kelly who tells Peggy that older men use their bowling night as a cover to cheat on their wives.
3. Episode #63 "Fair Exchange": What country is Yvette, the Bundys' foreign exchange student, from?

Answer: France

Yvette (Milla Jovovich) is a foreign exchange student from France. The Bundys requested a foreign exchange student in order to earn $400 a month. Everyone loves Yvette except for Kelly. All the boys love Yvette and Kelly is forced to date a geek. When Al and Peggy tell Yvette that she can no longer go out on dates because she is failing her classes, Kelly tells Yvette that she will stay and study and Yvette can copy off of her.

However, Kelly deliberately fails her exams which causes Yvette to be sent back to France.

In order to buy Tubro, Peggy sells decades worth of Al's "Playboy" magazines. When Al finds out, he becomes furious and forces Peg to get them back.
5. Episode #65 "976-SHOE": For what reason does Al need a loan from Steve's bank in this episode?

Answer: So he can start a shoe help hotline

Al develops another hairbrained scheme to make money, this time by starting a shoe help hotline over the phone. In order to get the money to start this business, Al takes a lone at Steve's bank. Steve gives Al the loan without a credit check because Steve wants to win a trip to Hawaii his bank is offering. Steve's boss tells him that if Al defaults, Steve will be fired. Al's idea proves to be terrible and unsuccessful.

This episode is the beginning of the arc that will lead to Steve leaving the show. Steve is fired from the bank and has little interest in finding a new job, leading to tension with Marcy.
6. Episode #66 "Oh, What a Feeling": What happened to the money that Al hid and buried in the backyard?

Answer: Peg stole it

Al digs up a box of money he buried in the backyard so he can put a down payment on a new car. However, he discovers that Peg has already found and taken most of the money. This causes a fight between the two. Meanwhile, Al is forced to lease cars in terrible conditions, many of which do not work at all, because he can no longer purchase a new one.
7. Episode #67 "At the Zoo": What kind of animal does Steve attempt to free from the aquarium, only to wind up killing it?

Answer: Turtle

Steve tells Marcy he will be spending the day looking for a new job. In reality, he takes Peg and the kids to the zoo and the aquarium. While at the aquarium, Steve notices a turtle named Bosco who looks unhappy. He blows off a job interview to break into the aquarium and release Bosco from his prison. However, Bosco is a salt-water turtle and Steve releases him into fresh water.

Answer: The bank closes early for a party

Al intends to cash out his Christmas Club so he can buy presents for his family on Christmas Eve. However, the bank closes early and Al cannot get his money until after Christmas. This infuriates his family who go to lunch without him. While alone, Al fantasizes about what life would have been if he had never been born.
9. Episode #69 "It's a Bundyful Life, Part 2": When Al sees what life would be like if he were never born, what last name do Peg and the kids have?

Answer: Jablonsky

Al's guardian angel (played by Sam Kinison) shows Al what life would have been like if he was never born. He learns that Peg is a picture-perfect housewife married to a man named Norman Jablonsky (played by Ted McGinley who would later join the cast as Marcy's second husband Jefferson). Kelly is a virgin who is super smart and attending college. Bud is a young gentleman.

The Jablonskys are incredibly happy. Al tells his guardian angel that he wants to live because he is not going to allow his family to be this happy with all the grief they give him.
