Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Jamie

Answer: Reagan

Jamison "Jamie" Reagan is the youngest child of Francis 'Frank' Reagan, the New York Commissioner of Police and patriarch of a large family on "Blue Bloods," which first aired in 2010. The episodes revolve around the Reagan family, i.e., Frank, his two cop sons Danny and Jamie, and his ADA daughter Erin. IMHO, the best scenes are the Sunday dinners when the family, including Frank's father Henry and Frank's grandchildren, all gather together to discuss their opinions and the events in their lives. Jamie is played by Will Estes.
2. Daphne

Answer: Moon

One of my favorite shows of all time was the brilliantly written sitcom, "Frasier" (1993-2004). The plot revolved around the Seattle radio psychiatrist, his brother Niles and his father Martin. After moving from Boston, Frasier is forced to take Martin (and his father's chair and dog) into his home. Martin, a former cop, had been injured in a shooting and required a physical therapist. Enter Manchester born Daphne Moon, wonderfully played by Jane Leeves.
3. Barney

Answer: Stinson

"Legen...Wait for it...Dary" womanizer Barney Stinson was one of the main characters on "How I Met Your Mother" which ran from 2005 to 2014. The premise of the show was a father, Ted Mosby, explaining to his kids how he met their mother. The episodes centered around the love lives of Ted and his four best friends, Robin, Marshall, Lily and Barney. Barney was played by the remarkably versatile actor Neil Patrick Harris.
4. Sue

Answer: Sylvester

"Glee" (2009-2015) was set in McKinley High in Lima, Ohio, where a Spanish teacher decides to rejuvenate the school's glee club, New Directions. The show features many musical numbers as the glee club competes on the choir competition circuit. In between, we experience the trials and tribulations of both the teenagers and their teachers.

The nemesis and foil is the cheerleader's coach, Sue Sylvester, i.e., Jane Lynch, who is constantly trying to sabotage the club.
5. Jonas

Answer: Grumby

This was a tough one because I didn't reference the name by which Grumby was usually called, i.e., 'Skipper'. The show was "Gilligan's Island" (1964-1967), and the plot revolved around the wacky adventures of the castaways, including "Gilligan, the Skipper too,/The millionaire and his wife/The movie star, Professor and Mary Ann".

It was remarkable how many adventures they could have on an uncharted island. The Skipper was played by Alan Hale, Jr.
6. Tootie

Answer: Ramsey

"You take the good, you take the bad, you take them both and there you have the facts of life." On "The Facts of Life" (1979-1988), we watched teenage girls grow up at the Eastland School, a boarding school for girls. Housemother Edna Garrett supervised wealthy Blair, tough tomboy Jo, down-to-earth Natalie and the vivacious Dorothy 'Tootie' Ramsey, who we usually saw on roller skates for the first few seasons. Tootie was played by Kim Fields.
7. Toby

Answer: Damon

Have you ever watched the wonderful, poignant dramcom "This Is Us"? The show was first broadcast in 2016, and follows Jack and Rebecca Pearson and their "triplets", Randall, Kate and Kevin. We follow their lives, their triumphs and tragedies. When Kate grows up she decides to go to fat camp for "an immersive weight-loss experience".

It is there that she meets her future husband and father of her child, Toby Damon. Toby is played by Chris Sullivan.
8. Chrissy

Answer: Snow

Christmas "Chrissy" Snow was one of the original threesome on "Three's Company" (1976-1984), along with Jack and Janet. It was adapted from the British comedy "Man About the House" where one man lives in an apartment with two women. The American version is set in Santa Monica, CA, where Jack pretends to be gay to legitimize the relationships. Chrissy is the airhead who was played by Suzanne Somers.

This show would probably never be aired in today's political climate.
9. Ken

Answer: Hutchinson

I wonder if this one tricked you. Ken Hutchinson was one of the protagonists on the crime show "Starsky and Hutch" which ran from 1975 to 1979. It featured two street-wise detectives, their Ford Torino and their snitch Huggy Bear, all fighting crime in fictional Bay City.

The detectives were tough Dave Starsky and educated Ken Hutchinson, who worked together well despite their differences. David Soul, who was also a singer, played Hutch.
10. Kelly

Answer: Garrett

Jaclyn Smith, last of the original angels, played Kelly Garrett on "Charlie's Angels" (1976-1981). The premise of the crime drama was three women, trained at the Police Academy, become employed by a detective agency run by the unseen, mysterious Charlie Townsend (voiced by John Forsythe). Charlie gives them their assignments over a speakerphone.

The show had an incredible turnover rate for its leads, with Farrah Fawcett (Jill Munroe) the first to go.
11. Frank

Answer: Poncherello

Yet another crime drama from the 1970s was "CHIPS" (1977-1983) which stood for California Highway Patrol. The show featured two state motorcycle patrolmen, Officer Jon Baker and Officer Frank Poncherello, known as "Ponch". Jon was the straight-laced (and forgettable) law enforcer, while Ponch was the sexy free-wheeling cop.

They aided stranded motorists, investigated hijackings and car pile-ups, while still having time for social lives. Erik Estrada was Ponch.
12. Christine

Answer: Campbell

After her amazing success as Elaine Benes, Julia Louis-Dreyfus had a small misstep on "Watching Ellie", before playing the self-serving divorced mother Christine Campbell on "The New Adventures of Old Christine" from 2006 to 2010. While Christine is divorced from her ex Richard, she still remains very close despite the fact that he has a new love also named Christine. No one has overcome the "Seinfeld curse" as well as Julia (later to star on "VEEP").
13. Oliver Wendell

Answer: Douglas

Heading back to the 1960s, we have the story of a New York City attorney and his pampered wife who abandon the urban life for a broken-down farm in Hooterville. On "Green Acres" (1965-1971), Oliver Wendell Douglas and his Hungarian wife Lisa take up residence in a rural town replete with bizarre neighbors.

There they encounter the conman Mr. Haney who sold them the farm, a hired hand named Eb, and a TV loving pet pig named Arnold. Eddie Albert plays Oliver Wendell Douglas.
14. Elyse

Answer: Keaton

It was not until the 1980s that sitcom wives had jobs outside the home. While it seems routine today, prior to that time, most mothers were just mothers and 'homemakers', e.g., Alice Kramden, June Cleaver and Carol Brady. Elyse Keaton, the matriarch on "Family Ties" (1982-1989), was an architect besides raising her three kids (which later became four). Since her husband was employed, this concept was ground-breaking at the time. Meredith Baxter was Elyse.
15. Cosmo

Answer: Kramer

It was not until the 97th episode of "Seinfeld" (1989-1998), the eleventh episode of the sixth season, on January 5, 1995, that we finally found out that Kramer's first name was Cosmo. Kramer, played by Michael Richards, was Jerry's wacky next- door neighbor who ate Jerry's food, stormed in unannounced and got into crazy situations.

The only steady job Kramer had was when he went back to work at H&H Bagels after having been on strike for more than ten years.
