Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The first Road Block of the race, held in Argentina, involved learning a modified version of what dance?

Answer: Tango

To conclude Leg 2 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the ten participating teams had to complete their first Road Block of the race, a task that only one team member could complete. In this case, the person electing to complete the task needed to learn a modified version of the tango that started on the floor, but ended with both dancers in a harness dancing up the walls. Diana, Tanner, Logan, Cindy, Kelsey, James Earl, Krista, Jin, Alex, and Jazmine all went sideways to collect their clue and race off to the Pit Stop.
2. The Road Block found in Leg 3 was all about cooking, but what did teammates need to work with?

Answer: Meats

Justin, Josh, Joey, Chris, Rick, Danielle, James Earl, Tiffany, and Ernest were selected for a Road Block in the Pampas of Argentina. Arriving at La Porteņa ranch in San Antonio de Areco, they had to learn how to properly set up beef ribs and racks of lamb to be cooked over fire pits-- gaucho-style.

This involved properly stringing them up, securing them to rods, and placing them on the fire. If they got them approved by the ranch hands, they could grab a cooked rack and deliver it on foot to the Plaza Principal in town to get their next clue.
3. The Leg 4 Road Block saw the use of an Express Pass (by Justin and Diana).

Answer: False

While Leg 4 did see the Express Pass get used, it was actually burned by Tanner and Josh, who won the item by placing first in the race's first leg. They opted to use the Express Pass to skip over Leg 4's Road Block, which involved flying over Victoria Falls in a microlight aircraft looking for a flag on the Knife's Edge Bridge, and as such neither completed the task.

The catch was that they used it immediately preceding an overnight rest, so they were overtaken the following morning by Justin and Diana.

Their Express Pass went to another team (Denise and James Earl) and they subsequently never recovered. Kelsey, Diana, Jazmine, Rick, Logan, Denise, and Krista ended up completing this Road Block.
4. Leg 5's Road Block was a notable Switchback based on a task from the race's first season. What was different about it?

Answer: It was done in a different country

Mimicking a task completed by all eleven teams in the first leg of the first "Amazing Race" season, teams had to head to Batoka Gorge to perform a rope swing for their Road Block task, receiving their next clue when the jump was completed. Although this task was done in the same gorge, there were some notable differences unlike earlier Switchbacks.

Not only was the original task a Detour (meaning all team members completed it originally, though not in tandem), but it was done in Victoria Falls, Zambia.

This season, it was done on the Zimbabwe side of the gorge.
5. There were two Road Blocks in Leg 6. The first was completed in Zimbabwe. In which country was the other done?

Answer: France

Teams commenced Leg 6 with an early morning bungee jump off the Victoria Falls Bridge on the Zimbabwe/Zambia border but what they didn't know was that their first task upon arriving in Cerny, France would involve sending the second teammate (the one who did not participate in the first Road Block) into the sky in an old French biplane. For both tasks, teams needed to record their finishing heat rate using their FitBit Charge devices as they would need to use those numbers in a subsequent leg of the race.
6. In Leg 7, team members completing the Road Block had to collect paintings depicting which of these?

Answer: Sunflowers

Visiting the Kinderdijk Windmills near Rotterdam in the Netherlands, the selected team members needed to use an example Van Gogh painting and search the windmill village for a matching canvas depicting the classic painting. The problem was that the competing team members had to search amongst tons of windmills and tons of close, but not-quite-there versions of the piece. Krista, Rick, Diana, Joey, Tanner, Logan, and Denise were able to run this one out before returning to Rotterdam for their proceeding tasks.
7. Visiting Agra in Leg 9, teams completed a Road Block task that doubled as which of these?

Answer: Speed Bump

In a first for "The Amazing Race", this season's sole Speed Bump task forced Tanner and Josh to complete the Road Block twice, once for the sake of the race course and once more to overcome the penalty for placing last in the Krakow, Poland leg. For this Road Block, participating teams needed to make their way to the Yamuna River and one contestant from each pair had to bike to the water, properly tie a pack of saris, wash them, and they lay out a set of drying clothes.

As noted, Tanner did this for the Road Block proper; Josh did this for the Speed Bump.
8. Leg 10's Road Block had team members blowing up balloons to deliver for which of these?

Answer: A wedding

Justin, Joey, Logan, Tiffany, and James Earl were selected to complete this task at the start of Leg 10 in Agra, India. As the sun set in India, all remaining teams had to get themselves ready for a traditional Hindu wedding, and the Road Block sent selected team members to a set of bikes on which they had to attach a net full of helium balloons that they had to inflate and tie. Once they delivered the balloons to the wedding planner on the other side of the Yamuna River, they could return to get their next clue.
9. Teams completing their diving Road Block in Leg 11 did so in which city?

Answer: Macau

Leg 11 took teams to both Hong Kong and Macau though teams didn't get to their Road Block until the end of the leg in the latter city. Arriving at the House of Dancing Water in the City of Dreams, team members needed to dress up and join in a theatrical diving performance, plunging from above thirty feet up.

When in the water, they had to locate a golden fish beneath the surface and deliver it to a raft in the water to get their next clue. Krista, Kelsey, Logan, and Diana finished this task before heading off to the Pit Stop.
10. The final leg of the race, held in New York, featured two Road Block tasks.

Answer: False

Though the general standard for this generation of the race involves two different Road Blocks, each to be completed by a different member of the team, this season's final leg only featured one. Teams started this leg off with a visit to New York City's Randall's Island where one member had to join in a New York City Fire Department training drill in a simulated burning building. Justin, Chris, and Joey then had to complete a memory challenge involving capitals of nations visited on the race before getting their next clue.

This meant that Diana, Logan, and Kelsey didn't need to complete a mandatory solo task later in the leg and that all racers in the final had an even amount of completed Road Blocks (with six per).
