Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The Road Block in Leg 5 (in Zimbabwe) involved which of these?

Answer: Rope swing

Because of the layout of Leg 4, teams commenced Leg 5 immediately upon arriving at the previous Pit Stop, receiving their next clue and heading out to the Lookout Cafe in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe overlooking Batoka Gorge. There, teams found a Switchback Road Block task which required that participating team members embark on an adventurous task first seen in the first leg of the first-ever "Amazing Race" season, a 200ft rope swing into the gorge above the Zambezi River. Once Justin, Josh, Kelsey, James Earl, Cindy, Chris, Danielle, and Tiffany completed the task they could receive their next clue.
2. Which team utilized the Express Pass to skip the 'Crocs' Detour task in Leg 5?

Answer: Denise and James Earl

Immediately after completing their rope swing Road Block tasks, teams were handed a Detour clue. The first of these two tasks was 'Crocs' in which teams drove to the Elephants Walk Shopping and Artist Village in Victoria Falls to visit Crocodile Cage Diving.

There, submerged in a cage in a crocodile enclosure they were required to feed three local celebrities raw meat in order to claim their next clue. Kelsey and Joey, Jazmine and Danielle, Tiffany and Krista, Cindy and Rick, and Logan and Chris all completed this task while Denise and James Earl, who received the Express Pass at the start of the leg, skipped this particular challenge to get out ahead of the other teams.
3. Teams not completing the 'Crocs' Detour task in Leg 5 instead operated which vehicle?

Answer: Canoe

Justin and Diana and Tanner and Josh opted to head to the edge of the Zambezi River to complete the 'Canoes' Detour. For this task, they needed to use their physical strength to propel them to victory, surviving a river crossing by paddling to the other side from their starting point.
Once there, one team member needed to strap into a harness and be hoisted to the top of a tree to collect their next clue from a vulture nest. Once they paddled back they could drive to their next task at the Masuwe Private Game Reserve.
4. The penultimate task of Leg 5, in the Masuwe Private Game Reserve, involved an encounter with which animals?

Answer: Lions

Completing the Detour teams needed to take a ride to Masuwe Private Game Reserve, still in Victoria Falls. There, they could take a number and proceed into 'The Lion Encounter', an experience that only two teams (at the most) could take at a time. Led by park guides, teams needed to walk with two lions as they searched the park for their next clue, hidden behind an animal skull. Only one task separated teams from the Pit Stop after this.
5. Which team was eliminated in Zimbabwe at the end of Leg 5?

Answer: Jazmine and Danielle

Finishing off the leg, teams were handed headscarves and told to wrap them around their heads to work at their last task. For this, teams needed to take a basket of fruit and transport it to their fifth Pit Stop at the Masuwe Lodge on their heads without holding onto it. Denise and James Earl were able to slide ahead of Justin and Diana at the last moment to take the win, claiming a trip for two to Bratislava, Slovakia courtesy of Travelocity.

The leg was ultimately finished last by Jazmine and Danielle who two legs near the back of the pack, were eliminated from the race.
6. Before departing from Zimbabwe, teams completed a Road Block task at the Victoria Falls Bridge. Who performed the leap there?

Answer: Denise

Teams had an actual break between Legs 5 and 6, meaning they were refreshed when they opened their first clue in Leg 6 and found a Road Block early in the morning. For this, teams had to choose a member who wanted to get their heart pumping, and the task involved heading to the Victoria Falls Bridge, straddling the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia, to complete a 364ft bungee jump. Denise, Diana, Tanner, Joey, Krista, Rick, and Chris completed this challenge. Following the task, participating team members needed to check their heart rate on their FitBit Charge HR and mark it down on a provided card for later in the race.
7. The second Road Block of Leg 6, performed in France, allowed team members to search for which of these from a biplane in flight?

Answer: Words

After completing their bungee task, teams were given instructions to fly to Paris, France. Once there, they would need to travel by train to Aérodrome Musée Volant Salis in the town of Cerny to collect their next clue-- another Road Block. For this, the team members who did not complete the bungee jump had to participate. Hopping into a vintage training biplane, Justin, Josh, Tiffany, Logan, James Early, Cindy, and Kelsey had to ascend into the sky and search the countryside for three French words that they needed to communicate to their pilot upon landing: liberté, égalité, and fraternité. If they could get all three words correct, they would get their next clue and head back to Paris, otherwise they'd need to take to the skies again. Once again, participating team members had to track their heart rate via their FitBit devices.
8. Most teams completing the Leg 6 Detour in Paris chose the 'Drops Mic' task, forcing them to sing what type of song?

Answer: Hip-hop

Taking the any method of transportation back into Paris, teams travelled to Square Louise-Michel in front of the Basilica of the Sacré-Coeur where they could get their next clue from Le Fantôme Blanc. This clue ended up being the Detour task for this leg. Those who chose to complete the 'Drops Mic' task had to perform a hip-hop song written by local artist Passi, using exact pronunciation, rhythm, and vibe to wow the musician. If they could get it right, doing so on the edge of the Seine, they could get their next clue.
9. The 'Bust a Crab' Detour task, found in Paris in Leg 6, was completed by how many teams?

Answer: Three

Teams who didn't want to engage with French language for their Detour could instead try their hand at French cuisine with the 'Bust a Crab' option. For this, teams needed to travel to the brasserie La Coupole to make a Royal Platter by cracking, shucking, and serving seafood. If they could meet the exact plating standards of the head chef they could receive their next clue, a postcard directing them to Pont Alexandre III over the River Seine. Tanner and Josh, Cindy and Rick, and Chris and Logan completed this tough task; everyone else completed 'Drops Mic'.
10. Which team was last to arrive at the Pit Stop in Paris in Leg 6?

Answer: Denise and James Earl

Reaching Pont Alexandre III, teams received one final cryptic clue sending them across from the iconic monument where the first team would triumph. It meant that teams needed to travel to the Arc de Triomphe (which was, coincidentally, the Pit Stop after teams travelled out of Zambia in the first-ever "Amazing Race"). Justin and Diana, who kept a lead coming out of the second Road Block, were the first hit the mat claiming their third victory of the race.

There was no prize, however, since they were told to keep racing.

The non-elimination (and non-stop leg) meant that Denise and James Earl, who came in last place after getting lost in Paris, were able to continue unabated.
