Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. During the first Road Block of the race, one team member needed to drive a tractor before working with what animal?

Answer: Sheep

Murray, Carla, Emily, Daniel, Todd, Jesse, Aston, Jarrod, Tiharna, and Tyson were required to complete their first Road Block task in the mountain pastures of New Zealand's South Island. At Rata Peaks Station, they needed to hop into a tractor and transport four bales of hay through a slalom course.

When this was done they needed to hop into a sheep pen and collect the second half of a ring which would lead them to their first Pit Stop by locating it on the neck of a sheep.
2. Which team member did not complete the second Road Block of the race at Angkor Wat in Cambodia?

Answer: Murray

Neither John nor Murray completed this Road Block as they had instead opted to use their Express Pass won in the previous leg of the race. The other teams, meanwhile, had to choose one member to count monks in Angkor Wat's main courtyard who were wearing red and yellow prayer beads.

Then, they had to ascend the temple and give the answer to one of two monks, one of whom would give the clue if they gave twenty-six as the answer, and one who would not, even if they were correct. Sally, Ashleigh, Ryan, Elizabeth, Jesse, Jono, Christie, and Hereni mastered this one.
3. In which country did teams go clam-diving for the third Road Block of the race?

Answer: Thailand

In Leg 3, teams headed to the beautiful destination of Krabi, Thailand, specifically to East Railay Beach and Chicken Island for their Road Block. In this task, one member of each team needed to hop into the water and search the sea floor in a marked area for golden clams.

Some of these clams would contain a pearl which would contain their next clue while others would not. After Murray, Emily, Ryan, Sally, Ashleigh, Carla, Cat, and Aston completed this task, the teams could head to the third Pit Stop.
4. In Leg 4, team members needed to feed lions, but with what?

Answer: Animal parts

At the Na'an Kuse Wildlife Sanctuary, team members received their Road Block clues after a walk with the baboons, and one member of each team was told that they would need to get knee-and-elbow-deep in piles of animal entrails to get their next clue. The task was simple: create a meal for a pride of lions by separating and preparing rib shanks and a bucket of proper bodily organs and bringing them to the enclosure in a wheelbarrow. John, Jarrod, Jesse, Tyson, Jono, Carla, and Daniel completed this task before receiving their next clue.
5. In Leg 5, teams visiting Russia had to complete a code involving which of the following?

Answer: Flags

Reaching the Battleship Aurora in Saint Petersburg, Russia, teams had to complete a mental task in the frigid winter cold. For this task, one member of each team had to head onto the ship to solve a sentence spelled out for them in semaphore. To complete the task they had to write the words out in Cyrillic as per a chart given to them. Murray, Jarrod, Hereni, Ryan, Sally, and Cat ended up completing this task and being directed to Beloselsky-Belozersky Palace.
6. During the sixth leg of the race, team members had to deal with which animals in Russia during their Road Block?

Answer: Dogs

Arriving at the Road Block in the forests outside of Kostroma, Russia, team members had the opportunity to go dogsledding in the wilderness. For this task, one member of each team had to hold on and balance themselves as a pack of dogs pulled them along a marked slalom course.

When they crossed the finish line of the track they could collect their next clue and take a taxi to the sixth Pit Stop on the Volga River. Daniel, Ashleigh, Tyson, Jesse, Carla, and John completed this task.
7. During the Leg 7 Road Block in Portugal, team members had to carry which of these?

Answer: Fish

Reaching Fisherman's Beach in Cascais, Portugal, teams found a Road Block on the coast. For this task, one member of each team (Hereni, Cat, Tyson, Ryan, and Jarrod) had to walk through the streets of Cascais heading toward the Cozinha Portuguesa restaurant...but they had to do so carrying one large fish, two kilos of mussels, and five kilos of octopus.

When they delivered the seafood and had a bowl of cataplana stew they could return to their teammate and head to the Pit Stop.
8. How many Road Block tasks did teams complete in Dubrovnik, Croatia in Leg 8?

Answer: Two

Making their way to Dubrovnik, teams ended up visiting Fort Bokar for their first Road Block and Sally, Ashleigh, Carla, and Cat performed a face-first abseil down its side. When teams reached Fort St. John later on in the leg, the other team members (Tyson, Jarrod, Hereni, and Jesse) had to ascend the stone walls of this second fort before they could check in at the Pit Stop at Fort St. Lawrence. Daniel and Ryan did not complete the Road Blocks as they went for the Fast Forward in this leg.
9. How many people completed the Road Block task in Argentina in Leg 9?

Answer: Four

Heading to Estancia Las Bétulas outside Buenos Aires, teams ended up coming across a Road Block waiting at a beautiful polo ranch. Here, one member of each team needed to direct a horse-drawn carriage onto the grounds, then select a horse, saddle it up, and dress it to readiness for a game of polo. Sally, Daniel, Ashleigh, and Carla completed this penultimate Road Block before being taken to their next clue at El Ateneo Grand in Buenos Aires.
10. The final Road Block of the race was held in the United States.

Answer: False

Teams actually encountered the last Road Block of the race, a memory challenge involving the greeters at each of the Pit Stops around the world in the previous nine legs, just before reaching the Finish Line in Port Campbell National Park, specifically in Loch Ard Gorge in Australia. Completed by Sally, Ryan, and Jarrod, the task forced teams to remember objects handled or worn by each greeter at each Pit Stop.

When they had them correct and in order they could head to the Finish Line.
