Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What acronym is used for the kids' aptitude tests?

Answer: CANT

Mrs. Krabappel fulfills her promise to the class for a special surprise. Unfortunately, the surprise is a new aptitude test, the Career Aptitude Normalizing Test, and every class in the school is being forced to take it to slot the children into prospective possible careers.

The questions seem to be extremely specific (eg. 'Do you enjoy the smell of bank customers?'), so it quickly becomes apparent that the tests are pushing the kids in specific directions. When the tests are complete, armed guards collect the submissions and take them away.
2. In which state are the aptitude tests tallied?

Answer: Iowa

The tests end up passing through the Iowa Non-International Airport and to Proctorville ,Iowa, home of the National Testing Center, where all of the forms are run through a machine to determine the proper 'scientifically-determined' career paths. While a number of kids get interesting choices like architect and military strongman, Lisa is extremely disappointed to be told she'll probably be a homemaker. Bart, meanwhile, is told he'll be a police officer.

Despite her test results, Lisa claims that she'll still be a famous jazz musician somehow, and Marge says they'll support her.
3. According to a music teacher, why won't Lisa become a famous jazz musician?

Answer: Stubby fingers

Marge takes Lisa to a music school in town to perform for a local teacher and when she does, the man says she has talent but probably won't be famous in the long run because she seems to have inherited stubby fingers from her father's side. Lisa disagrees because the blues come from the inside, but she does have to admit her fingers are stubby.
Lisa, realizing that her hopes and dreams may be ruined, writes such in her journal.
4. Bart, in an attempt to stop a robbery, gets hit by a car.

Answer: False

Homer, meanwhile, finds the police at his door. They're actually coming by to take Bart on a ride-along and teach him a few things about policing in Springfield. The trip turns out to be quite informative to Bart and, before he knows it, he's whisked through the streets on a high-speed chase after a Kwik-E-Mart robber.

At one point, when the cops have him trapped, they even give him a gun to cover their backs. The chase ends just before Bart is run over by the robber's getaway vehicle; it gets stuck in a narrow alley.

The cops make Bart an honourary officer.
5. When she was younger, Marge wanted to be which of these?

Answer: Astronaut

Marge tries to convince Lisa that even though she's discouraged, she should either find something creative to enjoy in her day-to-day life, or she should keep at what she loves. Back when she was young, Patty and Selma told her that there wouldn't be any women astronauts even though she wanted to be one (they claimed that they would distract the male astronauts too much, and they wouldn't be able to keep their eyes on the road). Her point: anyone can be wrong.
Bart, meanwhile, takes his police future seriously by setting up surveillance in the house and taking Maggie's fingerprints.
6. What animal is the mascot for Springfield Elementary?

Answer: Puma

Lisa, at school, ends up passing by the bad girls' bathroom and decides to walk in with no regard for her personal safety. The girls smoking inside try to force her out, claiming that they need to think of things to throw eggs at, but Lisa gets on their side by suggesting the one thing that would really bother Principal Skinner: egging and throwing toilet paper on the taxidermy puma representing the school's pride. Skinner reflects that this is worse than being in Vietnam during the war.
7. Why does Bart have Groundskeeper Willie arrested?

Answer: For burning leaves

While Skinner contemplates the state of delinquency in his school, Groundskeeper Willie is being arrested by Lou and Eddie outside and Bart is to blame. As Bart puts it, Willie was going against clean air laws by burning leaves on school property. This gets Skinner thinking; Bart can be employed as a hall monitor to ensure that discipline is maintained in the school.

He sells the position to Bart when he hands over the sash. Soon, Bart's grades start to rise while Lisa's start to drop. Homer thinks that they always need to have one good kid and one bad kid. Marge has to remind them that they have three children.
8. Bart is allowed to take one item from the school's seized property room. What does he take?

Answer: Crossbow

Mrs. Hoover's class ends up having a craft session and, when Lisa is asked to use the glitter, she responds with a well-pointed 'shove it'. This, of course, gets her sent to the Principal's office where she makes it clear that she's against the authorities. Soon, she's in with the bad girls.
Bart, meanwhile, is congratulated for running the school like a police state and maintaining order with great severity. As a reward, Skinner brings him to the seized materials room and says to help himself to one item. Bart picks a crossbow.
9. Lisa steals all of the Teacher's Edition books in the school. Where does she hide them?

Answer: In her locker

The days pass at Springfield Elementary and order is maintained while Lisa gets an idea. After sussing out Mrs. Hoover she ends up in detention and takes the opportunity to steal all of the Teacher's Editions of the textbooks in the school. The teachers become worried quickly since they can't do their jobs without them.

In Ms. Krabappel's class, she instructs Martin to teach. In Mrs. Hoover's, she has to leave the room. In the Principal's office, Bart suggests that they perform mandatory locker searches...so they begin.
10. Who becomes the school hall monitor when Bart is forced to step down?

Answer: Milhouse

Bart's the one to stumble upon Lisa's locker and she admits to her brother that she did it out of rebellion. Skinner is thrilled that Bart found the $120 bounty, but Bart takes the fall for his sister to spare her from expulsion. In the end, Bart ends up getting six hundred days of detention as punishment and Milhouse gets his job. Bart tells Lisa that she has brains and talent to get what she wants in life, but she shouldn't squander it with such a silly act. Lisa quickly returns to playing the saxophone after this, and Bart writes lines on the chalkboard.
