Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What free gift did the Sally Struthers spot advertise if you pledged money to sponsor a child?

Answer: digital sports watch

The ad came on during the "Terrance and Phillip Thanksgiving Special" and featured Sally Struthers pleading for monetary support. When the boys discovered they could get a Teiko digital sports watch, they ran to the phone to make a pledge using Stan's mom's credit card number.
2. When Mr. Garrison announced to the class that they would be having a canned food drive, he asked if anyone knew what that was. Cartman said he did, but what was Cartman actually thinking of?

Answer: caesarian section

Cartman explained that a canned food drive was "when they cut up a chick's stomach to get a baby out." Mr. Garrison corrected him, saying, "No, that's a caesarian section, Eric, but that's okay. Remember, there are no stupid questions, just stupid people."
3. After Cartman voiced his opposition to collecting food for the poor, he got into an argument with Wendy. What classic author did Mr. Garrison reference as he stopped the argument?

Answer: Charles Dickens

Wendy and Cartman were having an argument straight out of Dickens' "The Christmas Carol":
Wendy: "Don't you want to help those who are less fortunate?"
Cartman: "Hey you guys, do you hear something? Ah- I think I hear the flower children calling!"
Wendy: "This is the one time of year you're supposed to care about people who can't eat!"
Cartman: "Isn't it enough that I pay taxes? What about the poor houses that, that I pay for?"
Wendy: "Many would rather die than go to those places!"
Cartman: "Well, then, perhaps they should, and decrease the surplus population!"
Mr. Garrison cut them off at that point, saying, "Okay kids, that's enough Dickens for one day."
4. Where did the boys take Starvin' Marvin on Tuesday night?

Answer: all-you-can-eat buffet

Kyle, Stan, and Cartman were all there with their families and they'd brought Starvin' Marvin along to show him what $6.99 could buy in America. Starvin' Marvin was appalled to see the complete excess and wastefulness of the dining experience.
5. What was the only offering students had brought in for the food drive?

Answer: creamed corn

There were only three cans in the bin, and all of them were for creamed corn. Mr. Garrison urged the class to bring more diverse selections, lest Kenny's family have "a pretty corny Thanksgiving." Mr. Garrison took a moment to laugh at his own pun, then moved along with the lessons.
6. When Mephesto brought Chef to his lab to tell him about the turkey problem, whose picture was under his microscope?

Answer: Vanessa Redgrave

When Chef first looked into the microscope he reported seeing "an extreme close up of... Vanessa Redgrave's private parts." Mephesto quickly switched the slide and Chef was looking at turkey DNA, which was dividing far too rapidly! Before leaving, Chef requested another moment with the Vanessa Redgrave slide.
7. How many cans of food did Kenny win for his family?

Answer: 1

The Mayor's Aide had arranged for a capsule in which the canned food would be blown around with a poor person. The poor person could keep whatever food he grabbed. Kenny went in to get food for his family, but was only able to get a single can of string beans. Later, when his family sat down to dinner to eat the string beans, they realized they didn't even have a can opener!
8. Who led the town in battle against the mutant turkeys?

Answer: Chef

Chef rode up on horseback with his face painted like Mel Gibson in "Braveheart" and he gave a rousing speech: "Today, you fight for your city! You fight for your honor! These turkeys will continue to push until they have taken everything from us! These fudged up turkeys from the cretaceous era can take our lives, but they can never take... our FREEDOM!" On the other side of the battlefield, a painted turkey was giving a rousing speech of his own to his legions.
9. What was Sally Struthers eating when Cartman found her?

Answer: cake

After collapsing in the desert for lack of food, Cartman discovered a storage building filled with Cheesy Poofs, Snacky Cakes, Boogie Bars and Veal Roll-Ups. In the back of the room was Sally Struthers, reclining on a chaise and being fanned by Ethiopians. She was feasting on chocolate cake, and Cartman realized she'd been eating all the food meant for the starving Ethiopians.
10. Did Starvin' Marvin go home willingly?

Answer: yes

The government agents returned looking for the accidentally delivered Ethiopian boy. Starvin' Marvin walked right up to the agent and tugged on his pant leg. The agent asked if he was ready to go home, and Starvin' Marvin looked around the crowd before shaking his head in vigorous affirmation.

As the agents led him away, Starvin' Marvin bent down to pick up some of the freshly killed turkeys. He then took the turkeys back to Ethiopia with him, where he was celebrated by his people for gifting them with such bountiful food!
