Question 1 of 10
1. While the U.S.S. Voyager is in dry dock (still in the Alpha Quadrant), Admiral Patterson takes Captain Janeway on a tour of her new ship. She's studied the schematics for the last three months and knows the vessel well. However, one thing does not satisfy her, and she asks the opinion of time-displaced "Ensign" Seven of Nine. What does Seven here refer to as "efficient"? Hint

Question 2 of 10
2. Seven locates the device that, in five years, will destroy Voyager, but she is in the wrong time frame and it is out of phase. Meanwhile, Janeway detects the chroniton flux the device is emitting and nearly discovers Seven of Nine. The time ship Relativity has to transport Seven back to the future to prevent any contamination of the timeline. What condition is Seven in when returned to the Relativity? Hint

Question 3 of 10
3. (Go back to Voyager's fifth year in the Delta Quadrant, shortly before it will be destroyed.) Though the Seven we now see has not time-traveled yet, she is affected by earlier jumps and has ocular problems as a result. Having perused the medical database, Seven diagnoses herself with Albright-Salzman syndrome. The Doctor more accurately determines that she has a mild case of what? Hint

Question 4 of 10
4. Because of the weapon hidden on the ship, Voyager becomes fractured with temporal distortions. Many of the crew come down with space sickness, food spoils soon after being replicated, and time elapses more quickly in certain areas of the ship. The first time-related anomaly is noticed during what event, held in the Mess Hall? Hint

Question 5 of 10
5. Just before Voyager is destroyed, the Relativity's first officer, Ducane, recruits Seven for a third time. Preparing her for the mission, Ducane tests Seven on her knowledge of time travel and paradoxes. After she explains a causality loop that was created by the Borg, Ducane comments that the Federation owes its existence to the Borg. How does the former drone reply? Hint

Question 6 of 10
6. The Relativity's commander, Captain Braxton, has certainly had less-than-pleasant experiences as the result of Voyager's repeated interference with time. For 30 years, he was stranded in Earth's "barbaric" late 20th century and had to undergo much rehabilitation before returning to duty. Having experienced it firsthand, what does Braxton warn Seven about? Hint

Question 7 of 10
7. Seven is sent to Voyager during a battle with the Kazon in the Delta Quadrant. The shields are down, making it easy for the saboteur to slip in. But Janeway recognizes the anomalous chroniton reading from dry dock and discovers Seven. After explaining the situation, Seven convinces Janeway to assist her and together they find the saboteur: who is it? Hint

Question 8 of 10
8. The saboteur escapes, and after two more time-jumps we're back in the Mess Hall when the first anomaly occurred. Now suffering severe effects from so many time-jumps, Seven of Nine is unable to continue and must return to the 29th century. Described by Seven as "efficient," whom does she recruit to apprehend the saboteur? Hint

Question 9 of 10
9. After Voyager's safety is secured, Captain Janeway is transported to the Relativity, where she finds "future" Seven of Nine. Since Seven cannot withstand another time jump, Captain Janeway has to finish the job and prevent this entire chain of events from ever happening. Why? Hint

Question 10 of 10
10. The timeline having been repaired, Seven of Nine's and Captain Janeway's memory engrams must be re-sequenced so that they have no knowledge of the events that have occurred. They are then returned to Voyager and reintegrated, unaware of what happened.

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts

Answer: The briefing room's design

"Starfleet's most up to date vessel and they still can't design a comfortable place to hold a meeting," Janeway comments. After Seven's declaration of the room's efficiency, the amused Captain concedes the point. Admiral Patterson proceeds to introduce Janeway to the EMH, a new addition to starships. Doc's medical knowledge impresses her, but his personality is as acerbic as ever. "Did you call me to chitchat or is there an actual emergency?"

Answer: She is dead.

As expected, the weapon's interference during transport damages Seven's implants and she does not survive. But, this is a time ship, after all. Though undergoing through another time jump puts her at risk of neural damage, Seven is recruited once more to save Voyager. "Tempus fugit!"

Answer: Sensory aphasia

Seven's low degree of confidence in her human physiology leads her to believe she is suffering from Albright-Salzman syndrome; Doc informs her that this rare neurological condition hasn't been seen for more than two hundred years. Though unaware of its cause, the Doctor treats Seven's sensory aphasia.

He advises that the next time she suffers from a human ailment, to call him instead of consulting the database. "You are the database," Seven argues. Doc replies, "With two legs and a splendid bedside manner."

Answer: A ping-pong game

The score is 19-18, in favor of Tom and Seven, who are competing against B'Elanna and Harry. During the game, the ball freezes above the table; the area is affected by temporal distortions. The ball soon resumes its normal course (another point for team Tom and Seven!). Seven and B'Elanna find the weapon causing the time fractures, but it is out of phase and cannot be beamed off the ship. Captain Janeway remembers the .003 chroniton flux it is emitting from five years earlier, in dry dock, but she never found out what caused it.

After all hands are ordered to abandon ship, the fractures tear Voyager apart.

Answer: "You're welcome."

Seven of Nine first defines the Dali paradox (or the Melting Clock Effect). Next is the Pogo Paradox (a particular favorite of mine): "A causality loop in which interference to prevent an event actually triggers the same event," defines Seven. She cites as an example the events of the 1996 film, "Star Trek: First Contact," when the Borg's efforts to prevent Zefram Cochrane's warp flight led to the starship Enterprise's involvement. With the Enterprise's assistance, the warp flight was successful. "So, in a way, the Federation owes its existence to the Borg." "You're welcome."

Answer: The Janeway Factor

Janeway - the bane of Braxton's existence! After being informed of this "protocol," Seven suggests that her resourceful captain might actually be helpful. Braxton stands his ground and, charging Janeway with three major temporal incursions, orders Seven to avoid her. "Your Captain has a knack for sticking her nose where it doesn't belong - especially when it comes to time travel."

The three temporal incursions are not named, but could refer to "Future's End" (in which Voyager is thrown into the 20th century, and Braxton is stranded there), "Year of Hell" (when Voyager battles a temporal weapon ship), or "Endgame" (the series finale, where Voyager reaches Earth with the help of a time traveler: an older Janeway).

Answer: Braxton

It's not the Braxton we see commanding the Relativity, however, but one from a few years later, whose multiple journeys through time have led to temporal psychosis. The Relativity monitors the exchange that takes place, much to the surprise of Captain Braxton (the as-yet sane one).

The saboteur reasons that, if Voyager is removed from the timeline, the harm Voyager's interference has brought to him will never occur. After hearing this, Ducane takes command of the Relativity and relieves Braxton of duty, for crimes he is "going to commit."

Answer: Seven of Nine

Seven: "Seven of Nine is pursuing him. She is efficient, she will succeed." At this point, there are multiple Seven of Nines! The "present" Seven of Nine and Janeway successfully nab Braxton. Janeway recognizes him and addresses him as Captain, but he replies that he is not a captain any longer, thanks to her. Seven reports to her "future self" that Braxton has been apprehended, and he is transported aboard the 29th century vessel Relativity.
9. After Voyager's safety is secured, Captain Janeway is transported to the Relativity, where she finds "future" Seven of Nine. Since Seven cannot withstand another time jump, Captain Janeway has to finish the job and prevent this entire chain of events from ever happening. Why?

Answer: Seven of Nine created several temporal incursions that must be repaired.

Seven was responsible for a phaser fight at Utopia Planitia, was seen on Voyager two years before she came aboard, and she spoke to herself at a ping-pong game in front of fifteen crew members. In exchange for leniency, Braxton tells when he came aboard Voyager and exactly where Janeway would be able to capture him.

She succeeds with only a small "incursion factor," and the Relativity ends up with three Braxtons aboard to reintegrate into the timeline!
10. The timeline having been repaired, Seven of Nine's and Captain Janeway's memory engrams must be re-sequenced so that they have no knowledge of the events that have occurred. They are then returned to Voyager and reintegrated, unaware of what happened.

Answer: False

Since neither Janeway or Seven saw any possible futures, only events from the past, Ducane sees no harm in keeping their memories intact. However, in accordance with the Temporal Prime Directive, they are advised to discuss these events with no one. Ducane adds, "Braxton was right about one thing. Voyager shows up on our sensors far too often. Try to avoid time travel."
