Frank's tracking device located the hacker for the Winchesters, letting them know she was at Richard Roman Enterprises. Dean called this the "Death Star," referring to the weapon in "Star Wars" that could destroy a planet with a single energy beam.

Dean was clearly surprised his brother was familiar with the books or movies, and could not resist teasing him with the "Dumbledork" comment, a reference to Headmaster Dumbledore from "Harry Potter". Naturally, it was not lost on the viewers that Dean clearly knew enough to know a character name too.

In "Reading is Fundamental," Dean broke open the rock to reveal a tablet with writing on it. When he broke it open, the brothers were in Chicago, and a freak thunder storm hit all the way from there to Cape Cod, Castiel woke up in the hospital in Indiana, and Kevin was struck by lightening in his home in Michigan. Castiel later told the brothers that the tablet was the word of God.

Meg said this by way of greeting when she called Sam to let the brothers know that Castiel had woken up. For viewers paying attention, this was an amusing reference to times Crowley referred to Sam as "moose" in episodes like "The Devil You Know" in season 5.

In "Reading is Fundamental," Kevin drove to Indiana and tried to take the tablet. His actual response to Sam and Meg was, "I'm Kevin Tran. I'm in Advanced Placement." He was referring to the honors classes he was taking in high school. It was the angels that told Sam, Meg and Kevin that Kevin was a prophet.

This was Castiel's deadpan response to Sam's question about the tablet. Sam wanted to know what the writing said. After this answer, Castiel told them that angels could not read it. There was also a very funny exchange when Castiel told the brothers that the writing on the tablet was "the handwriting of Metatron." Sam responded "Metatron? You're saying a transformer wrote that?" Dean then told Sam that he was thinking of "Megatron" and the brothers did a little back and forth dalogue with Dean telling Sam he had the wrong name and Sam's "what?" questions to Dean becoming more and more exasperated. Castiel explained that Metatron was an angel, the scribe of God, who "took down dictation when creation was being formed."

Castiel said this to Sam during "Reading is Fundamental" before the two had a conversation about what Castiel had done, both in hurting Sam and then in saving him by taking on Sam's mental illness that was the result of that hurt. Castiel stated that he had been overwhelmed by the knowledge of all of his mistakes, but then was helped by taking on Sam's pain. Sam told Castiel that he knew Castiel had only tried to help, and he was grateful for that. Sam then promised to help him get better.

Kevin translated the stone for the brothers in "Reading is Fundamental," letting them know they needed a bone from a human "as light and good" as the leviathans were "hungry and dark" and the bone needed to be washed in "the three bloods of the fallen." Then, in "There Will Be Blood," Bobby figured out that the blood from the "ruler of fallen humanity" would be Crowley and blood from the "father of fallen beasts" would be an Alpha.

After the brothers summoned Crowley, the King of Hell told the brothers that the Alpha Vampire was still alive. The Winchesters then proceeded to seek the ingredients for the weapon.

The Alpha Vampire expected the brothers to try to kill him, but before entering the Alpha's home, Sam convinced Dean that they should convince the Alpha to help them, since the leviathans were killing all the vampires. The Winchesters realized that the additive the leviathans had put in food via the corn syrup from the company Roman bought was making human blood toxic to vampires.

Therefore, the brothers decided to convince the Alpha Vampire to give them his blood, rather than trying to kill him.

In "There Will Be Blood," Edgar admitted to the Alpha Vampire that the leviathans' plan was to kill all other creatures that eat humans, so there would be no competition for their food. Dean and Sam then saved the Alpha Vampire from Edgar, who thanked them by giving them his blood.

The writers had some fun with the fans by having the last line by the Alpha Vampire to the brothers be, "See you next season."

Roman offered Crowley Canada, saying the leviathans needed all of the United States, since Americans were "so fat." In return, he asked Crowley to give the Winchesters the wrong blood, so their weapon would not work against him.

This fun piece of dialogue occurred toward the beginning of "Survival of the Fittest" when the brothers were on their way to get a "righteous bone" from the remains of a nun. Shortly after this, Meg caught up with the brothers at Rufus' cabin with Cas in tow. Cas told them that the leviathans had taken Kevin.

Crowley glanced at Cas, the object of his phrase, as he said this. He was referring to the deal he made with Cas in Season 6, when the two worked to open Purgatory in exchange for splitting the souls. Cas double-crossed Crowley and consumed all the souls himself.
