Ephram was a "rit zien" angel. These were angels that were mercy killers in Heaven; putting angels wounded on the field of battle out of their misery. Ephram did not understand humans, so was killing humans in emotional pain, including those suicidal, but also a teenaged girl upset over a breakup with her boyfriend.

After he killed them, a pink gook was left behind. The gook was all that was left from bones, skin, blood, clothes, etc. Castiel recognized these remains and realized what Dean was hunting.

Answer: Catnip

After Castiel called and gave Dean the tip on the strange disappearances in Idaho, Dean decided to check it out. He did not want his brother with him, since he was keeping Sam/Zeke away from Castiel to protect them from the angels that were hunting Castiel. Sam was still confused about why Castiel left the bunker, and was surprised when Dean said he was not going to see Castiel while in Idaho. Dean replied that, "As long as he's catnip for angels, he's keeping his distance."

Answer: I run out of singles

When Dean was trying to convince Castiel to help him with the hunt in "Heaven Can't Wait", he realized Castiel had a date and thought Castiel was reluctant to leave because he was attracted to his boss. Castiel responded by asking about dating, and this was Dean's humorous response.

This aspect of the episode took a sad turn when it was later revealed that Nora had intended to ask Castiel to babysit, rather than go on a date with her.

The argument between Abaddon and Crowley was classic, with Crowley calling the Knight of Hell a "ganky putrescent skanger," and Abaddon asking Crowley how "it feels to be the Winchesters' bitch?"

The Crowley and Abaddon scenes also provided two key clues for fans, but it was unclear whether they were clues to future plots or red herrings. First, while Abaddon was speaking to Crowley, she was at Castle Storage. This is where John Winchester's storage locker was located, as shown in "Bad Day at Black Rock" in season 3 and "Sympathy for the Devil" in season 5. And, Crowley stole the syringe containing Kevin's blood and secretly injected it into his vein. It was unclear if he had become addicted to human blood during the third trial, or if he needed the blood for a spell or to break the Devil's Trap.

Answer: Drowned in the sink

A broken down tractor roared to life and impaled Jack, killing him. Then, a lawn mower turned on while a boy was trying to remove rosary beads from the blade, cutting up the child's arm. Finally, Ruth was suffocated by a shower curtain while in the bathtub. A ghost drowned a person in a sink during "Dead in the Water" in season 1.

Answer: Rock star and mechanic

While speaking with his girlfriend Robin, the teenager mentioned he wanted to be a rock star or a mechanic. When she questioned the mechanic choice, Dean explained that, "Cars are freaking cool as hell. Fixing them is like a puzzle, and the best part is when you're done, they leave and you're not responsible for them anymore."

Dean was caught stealing peanut butter and bread - after he lost the money John left for food in a card game. According to Dean, John let him stay in the home for a couple months to teach him a lesson - for losing the food money and getting caught stealing.

Each of the victims was a member of the chastity group, Abstinance Purifies Us, and each had broken their vow. They were kidnapped by Vesta, the Roman Goddess of the Hearth. Jody discovered that in ancient Rome, six virgins were tasked with tending Vesta's hearth each year. Fire was the symbol of purity and as long as the fire was kept lit, Rome received a good harvest. If the virgins broke their 30-year vow of celibacy, then they were buried alive.

Answer: "I don't think we can really unring that bell"

After Dean said this, Bonnie explained that they could be purified by signing the pledge. Bonnie's church considered people to be born-again virgins if they signed the pledge, even after being sexually active. As Dean put it, "So you just hit the virginity do-over button and all is good with the man upstairs?" Both brothers then signed the pledge so they could join the group and try to find the killer.

Answer: The chastity counselor and a porn star only

Susie was the chastity counselor. Dean recognized her, but had trouble placing her, until he saw a copy of her movie in her apartment. The movie was a "Casa Erotica" porn movie. "Casa Erotica" was referenced numerous times throughout the "Supernatural" series. Dean and Susie flirted for a while, and then made love. Shortly thereafter, they were both kidnapped by Vesta, the Roman God. Vesta was masquerading as Bonnie, the leader of the chastity group.

When Sam found the movie and realized Dean had been with the porn star, he told Jody, "I think he crossed someone off his bucket list."

Answer: Gadrael

The angel had identified himself as Ezekiel during "I Think I'm Gonna Like it Here', but during "Holy Terror" Metatron told the angel he knew he was actually Gadrael, the angel that allowed the serpent into the Garden of Eden. Gadrael had been in Heaven's dungeon ever since, but was released and fell to earth like all the other angels when Metatron performed his spell.

After speaking to Metatron, Gadrael was convinced to join Metatron.

Answer: Castiel

After an angel slaughter, Sam and Dean arrived to investigate. They were met by Castiel, who used the fake badge Dean had given him. When Dean asked what Castiel was doing there, Castiel stated, "If angels are slaughtering one another, I have to do what I can to help. It's a risk we should be willing to take, don't you think? Cas is back in town."

Answer: Bartholomew and Malachi

The episode began with a group of Malachi's followers having a battle with Bartholomew's followers - and slaughtering them. Later, while a Malachi follower was attempting to recruit a group of new vessels, Bartholomew followers slaughtered the potential vessels and the Malachi angel. Both Malachi and Bartholomew planned to unite the angels so they could take back heaven from Metatron, but to do so, they were killing any angels that did not follow them.

Answer: Kevin

Metatron offered to allow Gadrael back in Heaven and make him his second in command, but required that Gadrael first kill Kevin. He actually told Gadrael that Kevin was "the first name on your to do list." Gadrael killed Kevin in front of Dean and then left, taking his vessel (Sam) with him.

Answer: He stole another angel's grace

Malachi left Theo to torture and kill Castiel. Theo took the opportunity to try to get Castiel to help him be a soldier for Metatron. Instead, Castiel tricked Theo, stabbing him in the throat and stealing his grace. It was while Castiel was being tortured by Theo and Malachi that he was told Ezekiel had died in the fall.

After he stole Theo's grace, he called to tell Dean, leading Dean to attempt to reach his brother so he could expel the angel. Unfortunately, Gadrael figured out what Dean was doing and killed Kevin before leaving in Sam's body.
