Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. After the tapes of what had happened earlier (previously on 'Survivor'), which castaway confronted Twila about her betrayal to an alliance?

Answer: Ami

Ami was upset that Leann was voted out after Twila swore on her son's name that the three of them and Scout would be in the final four. Ami then said that she lost all respect for Twila.
2. In the reward challenge, "Bridge over Troubled Water", the winner would receive a Pontiac G-6. Who won this reward challenge?

Answer: Eliza

In the past eight seasons of Survivor, the winner of the car never won the grand prize of $1,000,000. The second and third place finishers in this challenge would join the winner on a road trip to a resort, where they would have a hot shower and all the food they could eat. The second and third place finishers were Ami and Chris, Julie was close to coming in third.
3. In the immunity challenge, "Island Hopping", Julie was the winner.

Answer: False

The castaways had six discs which they slid across a shuffleboard type map of the islands of Vanuatu. The castaway with the most discs on or touching an island would win immunity. It was a tie between Chris and Ami, until Ami, on her last turn, knocked one of her discs off an island making Chris the winner of the challenge.
4. Who was the thirteenth castaway voted off "Survivor: Vanuatu"?

Answer: Ami

Ami became the fourth member of the jury when she was voted off by a vote total of 4-2. She had tried to persuade Eliza to side with her, but she was unable to do that.
5. For the final reward challenge on "Survivor: Vanuatu", "Redemption", the castaways had the opportunity to redeem themselves from prior challenges. The challenge was a four round challenge consisting of five prior challenges, the forth round had two of the challenges in it. Who won the final reward challenge?

Answer: Julie

During the challenge, Scout was the first one eliminated when she finished last in the mud crawl. Eliza was the next to go when she was unable to finish pigpen challenge. Chris finished first in the Tiki puzzle phase, but was missing a piece and did not realize what was wrong with his puzzle and was the third castaway eliminated in the challenge. Julie won the final round when Twila fell during the balance beam phase and hurt herself, Julie finished by breaking the three ceramic tiles in three shots with the slingshot.

The reward was an overnight reward which consisted of a horse ride to Mount Yasur, an active volcano. It came with hotdogs, hot chocolate, and beer. Julie selected Chris to accompany her on the trip. She needed the time to try to sway Chris to vote to eliminate Twila.

This tactic appeared to work until they all arrived at Tribal Council at the end of the show.
6. Chris was basically the deciding vote on who would be the next person eliminated during episode 13. Chris told both Twila and Julie that he was not going to vote either of them out at the Tribal Council during the thirteenth episode.

Answer: True

Prior to Tribal Council, Chris was alone and said "I don't trust Scout, I don't trust Twila, I don't trust Eliza and I don't trust Julie. And they don't trust each other. And the most screwed up thing about it is, I think they all trust me." During the reunion, Chris told Julie that he was not sure who he was going to vote for until he went to cast his vote.
7. Chris won the final three reward challenges.

Answer: False

The reward challenge "Warrior", Jeff Probst told a story about a legendary Vanuatu chief. They then had to go to five different stations and correctly answer the question at each station. If they answered correctly, they received a white pig tusk, if they answered incorrectly they would have to return and try again later.

The first one to collect five tusks was the winner which was Eliza. With four remaining castaways, the next immunity challenge was called "Snakes and Ladders". They had to work their way through a vertical maze and collect five tile sets for a total of ten tiles. Once they collected all the tiles, they untied the pairs and correctly spelled the phrase.

The phrase was final three and Chris was the first one to finish. The final immunity challenge was an endurance challenge called "Ready, Aim, Don't Fire".

The tribesmen had to stand on two small platforms and hold a bow and arrow in a warrior pose. In front of the arrow was a paper marker. If the paper marker was pierced or the contestant fell they were eliminated. Scout was the first one eliminated and Chris won the final challenge.
8. The final episode, not counting the reunion was with the final four contestants and two had to be eliminated. Who was the first castaway voted off in the final episode?

Answer: Eliza

Eliza was voted off by a vote of 3-1. Chris took the easy way in my opinion, which was the smart move since Eliza had more people in the jury that could have voted for her to win if she went against Chris.
9. This winner of the final immunity challenge was able to select who was going to join them as the final two contestants that remained on the show. Who did the winner select to join them for the finals?

Answer: Twila

During the final challenge, neither Chris not Twila was going to give in and let the other person win it. They both told each other earlier in the game that they would take each other to the final two. When Scout was cheering on Twila, Chris had his doubts that Twila was going to keep her word.

After the challenge he talked with both Scout and Twila separately to see if they had made a final two pact. When they both said that they hadn't, then Chris believed Twila. Chris had said if they had agreed to a pact, then he was going to pick Scout to go with him to the finals.
10. On the 38th day of their stay in Vanuatu, the final three players had to paddle to an island not far from the island where the game was played. They went to pay tribute to the 15 castaways that had been voted out of the game. They also went to the gravesite of Chief Roy Matta, the legendary Vanuatu chief whom they heard a story during an immunity challenge. Jeff Probst told them to each take something of value to leave at his gravesite as a sacrifice. All three took with them a chief's staff which they had gotten early in the game.

Answer: False

Twila and Scout took a staff each, Chris took the spiritual stone that Brady retrieved from the pole covered in pig fat in the first episode.
