Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which team claimed the Fast Forward in Hungary in Leg 10?

Answer: Adrian and Collin

Beginning Leg 10, teams departed from Solomon Tower in Visegrad, Hungary and were told to make their way to the Little Princess statue. Here, teams found a Fast Forward task allowing them to skip all other tasks and head directly to the Pit Stop. This was the only one used during the race. For this task, Collin and Adrian had to go to Erzsébet Bridge to count vertical fence posts on the bridge. Once they received a total (2,377) they had to use the number to open a safe which would contain their next clue. Marc and Rovilson also planned to complete this task but were beaten to the punch.
2. During the Road Block in Hungary in Leg 10, team members needed to search which of the following?

Answer: Castle

After reaching the Little Princess statue, teams were told to go to Buda Castle in Budapest where they would be able to find their Road Block task. For this one, teams needed to choose a member who would enter the castle labyrinth where one member of each would have to be 'raiders for a lost clue'.

In this task, that person needed to take a lantern and search for one in several treasure chests for one containing their clue. Rovilson, Pamela, Diane, and Paula searched through the dark for this one.
3. Which team was Yielded in Hungary in Leg 10?

Answer: Ann and Diane

After the Road Block task, teams were told to make their way by taxi to Margaret Island where they would locate their next clue at a fleet of pedicabs. Driving these vehicles they had to find the former home of St. Margaret somewhere on the island, retrieve a plush rabbit, and return it to the starting point to collect their next clue.

After this task, teams had to visit Heroes Square where they ended up finding the second Yield of the race. This was used by Marc and Rovilson to hold back Ann and Diane before the Detour.
4. Which Detour task was completed by most teams in Leg 10 (Hungary)?

Answer: Both of these were completed equally

Finding the Detour at Heroes Square, teams had to choose either 'Say It' or 'Play It'. In 'Say It', teams had to memorize and pronounce the names of the fourteen kings memorialized at Heroes Square. Once they correctly said this tongue twister, they could continue on.

In 'Play It', teams needed to take turns solving a Rubik's Cube. They didn't need to solve the entire thing at once, they just needed to alternate colours; each team member had to take turns with each successive colour. Marc and Rovilson and Ann and Diane chose to 'Play It' while Pamela and Vanessa chose 'Say It'.
5. Which team was eliminated at the end of Leg 10 in Hungary?

Answer: Paula and Natasha

After the Detour, teams ended up making their way to the tenth Pit Stop, The Citadel at the Budapest Freedom Monument. Adrian and Collin, having won the Fast Forward, were able to head directly to the next Pit Stop without having to complete the other tasks.

They placed first as a result (for the second time in a row). In the end of the leg it was Paula and Natasha, unable to overcome a deficit from the previous leg, who came in last. They stepped on the mat in fifth and were marked for elimination.
6. Departing from Hungary in Leg 11, to which country did teams fly?

Answer: South Africa

Leaving the tenth Pit Stop of the race at the Budapest landmark known as The Citadel, teams ended up taking a taxi to the airport to catch the earliest flights to cape Town, South Africa. This journey of ten thousand kilometers split up the teams, all set to arrive the following morning and connecting through either London or Frankfurt. Once in Cape Town, teams needed to locate Signal Hill.

Their clue wouldn't be available until 8:30 in the morning. Once it opened, teams needed to take a marked car, drive to the summit, and search several clue boxes for one containing their next clue.
7. How many laps on a motor speedway did teams need to complete during the Road Block in Leg 11?

Answer: Eight

After finding the clue box at the top of Signal Hill, teams were told to drive through Cape Town to find the Killarney Motor Racing Circuit. Once they found a marked entrance they located their Road Block task which required a member with 'a need for speed'.

In this task, Vanessa, Marc, Collin, and Ann needed to race eight laps around the circuit in a race car. After the first four laps, they needed to drive into pit road; if they took more than seven minutes for their first half they would incur a five minute time penalty. Vanessa, Collin, and Ann were penalized; Marc was not.
8. During Leg 11, teams enjoyed charity work. What did they have to do?

Answer: Paint a daycare

After the Road Block, teams were told to drive to the Intyatyambo Community Project in Khayelitsha where, using acquired paint supplies, they would need to help the locals by painting a marked section of a daycare center for AIDS-affected youths. After the task was complete, the teams were able to hand a cheque for $5,000 (USD), courtesy of Standard Chartered Bank, over to the daycare as part of a charitable effort.
After this humanitarian effort, teams needed to drive two hours north to the Aquila Park Game Reserve to find their next clue.
9. In 'In One Ear' and 'Out the Other', the Leg 11 Detour tasks, teams had to tend to which type of animal?

Answer: Elephant

Once at the Aquila Park Game Reserve, teams were given their Detour task for this penultimate leg of the race...but only after collecting it from a pen full of cheetahs. They were presented a choice between 'In One End' or 'Out the Other', both of which required a trip to the elephant enclosure.

In 'In One End', teams needed to fill a trough with one hundred kilograms of elephant food. In 'Out the Other', the teams instead had to shovel elephant dung out of an pen and bring it to a marked spot via wheelbarrow. Marc and Rovilson, Adrian and Collin, Vanessa and Pamela, and Ann and Diane all chose 'Out the Other'.
10. Which team was eliminated in the penultimate leg of the race?

Answer: Ann and Diane

After the Detour, teams were asked to make their way by safari vehicle to the final Pit Stop of the race on the grounds of the Aquila Park Game Reserve. Here, Marc and Rovilson reclaimed the first place position (their eighth win) and took with them a safari trip back to Africa courtesy of Caltex.

They were followed by two other teams to make up the final three. After trailing for the rest of the leg due to a later-arriving flight, Ann and Diane were unable to make up their time deficit and became the final eliminated team.
11. During the 'Assemble' Detour task in the final leg, what did teams need to construct?

Answer: A radio

Heading out from their final Pit Stop, the final three teams left the Aquila Park Game Reserve and traveled two hours south to Cape Town. Once there they needed to find the District Six Museum and input a password on a Sony VAIO laptop; the password was a street sign (one in many) found in the museum.

This would allow them to head to the Scratch Patch on the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront for their Detour task, a choice between 'Search' and 'Assemble'. In 'Search', teams had to search through piles of semi-precious stones for three yellow rocks with red centers (signifying the race colours).

In 'Assemble', teams headed to a local shop to make a South African wire art radio. Marc and Rovilson and Pamela and Vanessa chose 'Assemble' while Adrian and Collin finished the 'Search' task.
12. At the Atlantis Dunes in Leg 12, teams could uncover either clues or which of these?

Answer: Hourglasses

After the Detour, teams needed to drive to the FC Kapstadt soccer pitch to find the clue box adjacent to the construction site for the world cup stadium. Here, they had to shoot three goals on a keeper to collect their next clue. Following this, teams headed to the Atlantis Sand Dunes to ride a pair of quad bikes. During this task they needed to search a marked path within a twenty kilometer radius.

Here, there would be eighteen stations, some of which would contain clues, the rest of which would contain hourglasses of different sizes which would need to be flipped to continue on.
13. What was the final destination city seen in Leg 12?

Answer: Singapore

After visiting the dunes, teams needed to drive to Cape Point Lighthouse then, heading up by funicular, walk to the building and tell the lighthouse keeper their final destination city: Singapore. They would then receive the clue directing them to the airport for their final trip. All three teams took the same flight over nine thousand kilometers.
Once in Singapore, teams needed to find the Raffles Statue near the race's starting point at the Asian Civilisations Museum to find their next clue box.
14. The final Road Block task of the race involved which of the following?

Answer: Flags

After visiting the Raffles Statue, teams needed to take a trip to Tanjong Beach on Sentosa Island by taxi. Upon their arrival they needed to open their final Road Block clue requiring that one member of each team test their memory and knowledge of countries on the race. For this task, the selected member had to go through a bucket of flags seen on the race and place them in the correct order as their itinerary this season. Only when they ended up in the correct order, omitting any which were not visited would teams be able to collect their final clue. Rovilson, Vanessa, and Adrian completed this final task.
15. Which team won "The Amazing Race Asia 2"?

Answer: Adrian and Collin

After the Road Block, teams were sent to the finish line at the Chinese Jurong Gardens in Singapore. Once teams crossed the Rainbow Bridge they would be done the race. In the end it was Adrian and Collin who surged ahead at the final Road Block task with Adrian remembering all of the flags. Landing at the finish line in first place, they ended up winning $100,000 and the title of official winners of "The Amazing Race Asia 2".

They were followed by Pamela and Vanessa and Marc and Rovilson in second and third place respectively. Adrian became the first deaf winner of any "Amazing Race".
