In "Strangers" (season 5, episode 2), Rosita is shown helping Abraham to fix the church bus. In season 5, episode 5, "Self Help," Rosita is shown stitching up Abraham's arm. In season 7, episode 9, "Rock in the Road," Rosita diffuses a bomb made of dynamite and a trip wire that is lain across the road by the Saviors. While Rosita may well be capable of distilling whiskey, she's not shown doing it.

Rosita has many skills, most of which she picked up from ex-boyfriends. In "The Other Side" (season 7, episode 14), Rosita told Sasha that her ex-lover Johnny taught her about bombs and "survivor prepper" stuff. Marcus taught her about cars. Negan then wants to know who their bullet maker is, and he abducts Eugene to make bullets for the Sanctuary.

When Rosita is first introduced in season 4, episode 10, "Inmates," she and Abraham are in a romantic relationship. After Abraham breaks up with her, she has a brief sexual relationship with original Alexandrian inhabitant Spencer Monroe. They are seen in bed together in season 6, episode 11, "Twice As Far," and he later invites her to dinner. At some point, Rosita apparently fools around with Siddiq between episodes, because she announces to him that he is the father of her child. However, she chooses to continue pursuing her new romantic relationship with Father Gabriel.

Coco is a nickname for Socorro. "Skybound" reports that, according to AMC, the name for Rosita's baby came from the actress who plays Rosita, Christian Serratos. Serratos wanted to pay "homage to a family name, Socorro, which in Spanish translates to help/relief." The baby is first introduced in season 10, episode 1, "Lines We Cross."

Deanna Monroe assigns Rosita to be a medical assistant in Alexandria, and in the season 5 episode "Conquer," Rosita is said to have patched up Rick after his fight with the town doctor Pete Anderson. In the season 6 episode "First Time Again," Rosita is shown treating Nicholas and Glenn.

In "JSS," she is shown assisting the new town doctor, Denise, during the attack of the Wolves. Abraham is assigned to the construction crew, and Rick and Michonne are assigned to be constables.

Rosita claims Daryl's way is twice as far. Denise sides with Daryl and goes off with him. Rosita follows the railroad tracks on her own. She is later shown sitting on the railroad tracks waiting for them to catch up, and Denise apologizes for having sided with Daryl.

In "The Other Side," season 7, episode 14, Rosita asks for Sahsa's help to carry out her plan to kill Negan. Sasha and Rosita have bad blood between them because Abraham left Rosita for Sasha. Sasha suggests they position themselves in a building near the Sanctuary and take a long range shot at Negan.

While they're waiting for their chance, the two talk and bond with one another, overcoming their differences. When they can't get a clear shot at Negan, however, they go to sneak into the compound, but Sasha shuts Rosita out. Sasha is then abducted and imprisoned.

Rosita joins in the efforts to rebuild the Sanctuary, which is given over to the leadership of Daryl after the war. In season 8, episode 16, "Wrath," Rosita can be seen exchanging a friendly nod at the sanctuary with ex-Savior Laura.
