Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What happened to Nathan Ford?

Answer: He died

Sophie is at Nathan's grave when she is met by Hardison, Eliott and Parker. According to Sophie, Nathan died about a year earlier.

Nathan Ford was played by Timothy Hutton in the original "Leverage" series. He was a former insurance investigator who became embittered with corporations after his son died when he was denied necessary medical treatment. He assembled a team of a Grifter (Sophie Devereaux), a hacker (Alec Hardison), a mercenary (Eliott Spencer) and a master thief (Parker). Their goal was to provide justice for individuals who had been abused and exploited by powerful people.

Gina Bellman returns as Sophie, Aldis Hodge returns as Hardison, Christian Kane returns as Eliot and Beth Riesgraf returns as Parker.
2. Who played Fletcher Maxwell, the bad guy at the center of "The Too Many Rembrandts Job"?

Answer: Reed Diamond

Reed Diamond played Fletcher Maxwell. He has been acting regularly, mostly in television, since the early 1990s. His first major role was as Mike Kellerman on "Homicide: Life on the Streets" (1995-1998). Diamond has been a recurring character on "Judging Amy" (1999-2003), "Journeyman" (2007), "Doll House" (2009-10), "24" (2010) and "Franklin & Bash" (2011-14).

Fletcher Maxwell is a pharmaceutical executive who made his fortune hooking patients on opioids. He uses his money to buy art work, which he displays in museums to build up his reputation as an art connoisseur. Maxwell is especially fond of Rembrandts.

Harry, Fletcher's attorney, turns on his client after Harry negotiates settlements with opiod victims in good faith, only to have Maxwell shaft those victims through extended litigation.

As for the other three actors, they were all born in 1967, like Diamond.
3. What is the name of the lawyer who teams up with the original "Leverage" crew?

Answer: Harry Wilson

Harry Wilson is played by Noah Wyle. Harry was a corporate attorney for fifteen years, who helped his clients avoid legal responsibility for their wrong doing. He is now seeking to redeem himself and bring his former clients to justice. Harry is a graduate of Tulane and Harvard Law School.

The team first runs into Harry as he is attempting to steal a painting belonging to Maxwell from the Boston Museum of Art. He screws up the theft, but the Leverage team helps him escape. Both Sophie and Parker are able to spot the theft before it happens.

Noah Wyle first rose to fame as Doctor John Carter on "ER" (1994-2005). He later went on to play the world's coolest nerd as Flynn Carsen in "The Librarian" films (2004-2008) and television series (2013-18). He also spent some time battling hostile extra-terrestrials as Tom Mason in "Falling Skies" (2011-15).
4. According to Parker and Hardison, how many branches of Leverage now exist?

Answer: 12

Since we last saw them in 2013, the team at Leverage have been busy and they have created a dozen teams to grift crooked rich people. Hardison also deals with international geo-politics, seeking to create stability and democracy around the globe. Hardison and Parker now spend most of their time traveling around the world, looking in on the Leverage teams.

Eliot has also created a fleet of food trucks in locations where Leverage has offices. The food trucks have computer rooms inside them, allowing them to run Leverage around the world.
5. What famous art heist do the team use as their hook in "The Too Many Rembrandts Job?"

Answer: Isabella Gardner Museum (1990)

The Isabella Gardner heist of 1990 is Holy Grail of great unsolved art crimes of the 20th century. The Boston museum lost 13 works, including 3 Rembrandts and 5 Degas. The initial hook for the con was the stolen Rembrandt "Christ in the Storm on the Sea of Galilee." Using his new high tech equipment, Hardison would recreate the missing painting. They would then sell it to Maxwell , who would return in to the Gardiner Museum and establish himself as a hero in the art world.

Part of Eliot's cover story as Gallagher is that his father was a Boston mobster (which Nathan Ford's father really was) who was involved in the Gardner heist.
6. "Let's Go Steal a..." returns as the show's catchphrase. What do they plan to steal in "The Too Many Rembrandts Job?"

Answer: A stolen Rembrandt

Sophie gets to say it this time. "Let's go steal a stolen Rembrandt." As noted above, they offer Maxwell the chance to obtain Rembrandt's "Storm on the Sea of Galilee"

While Hardison's high tech printer can recreate the painting, he needs the original materials. He gets the canvas from Nathan Ford's collection of stolen artwork. Eliot is able to get him soil from Cyprus, rocks from Afghanistan and lice from Mexico.
7. What is the name of the security company that blows Eliot's cover?

Answer: RIZ

According to the aloof British woman, RIZ provides VIP Security, cutting edge threat analysis and art collection. She "works in the field of violence" and compares Spencer to Rembrandt - at least when it comes to violence. Eliot proceeds to take out the four RIZ bodyguards in the space of about a minute, proving her point.

Hardison looks up RIZ and identifies them as "an ex-spy for hire" agency with offices in London, Geneva and Washington DC. RIZ works with dictators who need a private army.

IYS was Nathan Ford's former insurance agency in the original "Leverage." NID is the secret security agency in the "Stargate" universe. UNIT is the secret paramilitary unit that counters alien threats in "Doctor Who."
8. Who lights the painting on fire at the Boston Museum of Art?

Answer: Harry

Harry lights the painting on fire, but it is a duplicate created by Hardison that Parker placed in the museum - stealing the original painting. Maxwell files an insurance claim for the painting, but is nailed by the insurance company when it turns out the painting - and all of the other Rembrandts he has hanging in major art museums - are forgeries.
9. How does the team ultimately bring down the corrupt billionaire in "The Too Many Rembrandts Job?"

Answer: Frame him for art forgery and insurance fraud

The insurance agent, Connie Liu, informs Maxwell that his painting is a forgery. Hardison forges eight of Maxwell's paintings, and Parker breaks into art museums around the United States to replace the originals. They sell the paintings to compensate the victims of Maxwell's pharmaceutical company.

The Leverage team tricks Maxwell into giving them his bank account information. For the record, his account is 37A33 and his password is 22164866. The team manages to steal most of $100 million that Harry has hidden away.

According to Harry early in the episode, the state attorney generals filing lawsuits against Maxwell's pharmaceutical company already have documents exposing the company's wrongdoing.
10. Where does Fletcher Maxwell flee to in an attempt to escape prosecution?

Answer: Panama

At the end of "The Too Many Rembrandts Job" Fletcher Maxwell has fled Boston one step ahead of the authorities. Harry says that Maxwell has an emergency fund stashed in Panama, and that is most likely where the (former) billionaire is headed.

The team follows Maxwell to Panama in the next episode, "The Panamian Monkey Job."
