Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What does the Doctor say about Clara's face before she goes to leave for her date?

Answer: "Why is your face all coloured in?"

Getting ready for her second date with Danny Pink, the Doctor tries to convince her to go with him to the Satanic Nebula, the Lagoon of Lost Stars, and Brighton. Clara declines because she has plans. Again, the Doctor has seemed to have lost his "human touch" as he fails to realise that Clara wants him to compliment, or at the very least acknowledge, her appearance.

The Doctor asks if she's taller, to which Clara points out she's wearing high heels (which he hadn't noticed). Just as she's about to leave, the TARDIS phone rings and, unable to ignore it, the Doctor answers.

The pair suddenly find themselves in a strange room with no memory of how they got there, though this is put down to them having just touched memory worms (which erased their recent memories).
2. What is the name of the bank's head of security?

Answer: Ms. Delphox

Played by Keeley Hawes, Ms. Delphox is an efficient and effective head of security. When the gang first enter the bank, they witness one of the bank's customers being telepathically interrogated by the Teller (an alien creature with the ability to detect and scan thoughts) for any signs of guilt or criminal intent, at the order of Ms. Delphox.

The guilty party then has his mind deleted and turned to soup, remaining in a vegetative state. Ms. Delphox's demand for perfection and to maintain her team's reputation is of utmost importance to her, lest the bank's director, Karabroxos, finds out and has her fired... "with pain".
3. What does Psi say he is, before correcting himself to "hacker slash bank robber"?

Answer: Gamer

Shortly before the gang begin their infiltration of the bank of Karabraxos, the Doctor finds out a little bit about his companions. Psi claims to be a gamer when the Doctor questions the computer augmentation on the side of his head, but Psi revises his statement to "hacker slash bank robber" when the Doctor points out the prison barcode on his neck. Saibra reveals her ability to change her appearance, clothing and even voice when she touches living cells, putting it down to mutated genes in her body.
4. What part of a person does the bank's security system analyse in order to identify and/or authorise them?

Answer: Breath

Purported to be the most impregnable and secure bank in history, the Bank of Karabraxos' security system analyses the breath of customers and personnel for their DNA. This is shown in the video played in the "mission briefing" (before the heist starts), when Ms. Delphox leaves her office, and when Saibra calls up a safety deposit box. Luckily, Saibra is able to replicate the breath of the person whose appearance she takes on beforehand, seeing as her mutation works on a cellular level.
5. How does the Doctor respond when Psi doesn't understand why the Doctor has put himself in charge?

Answer: "Basically, it's the eyebrows."

When the gang reach one of the safety deposit boxes, they find something which looks like a bomb. When the Doctor says that they have to detonate it in order to gain access to the bank's service levels, Psi refuses and intends to leave the job. The Doctor (rather gruffly) tries to persuade him otherwise by suggesting that there is something inside the bank's vault that, to him, is the thing he "wants most in the universe". Reluctantly, Psi agrees to stay, but questions why the Doctor is the one in charge of the heist.

A reference to the Doctor's eyebrows (last given a good examining in "Deep Breath") seems to be the answer.
6. What astronomical phenomenon compromises the security of the bank and allows the vault to open?

Answer: Solar storm

After Psi uses his atomic shredder to save Clara from the Teller, his techno-handiwork on the vault door's electrics fails to unlock the very last lock. With a blast of solar storm activity imminent, the Doctor realises that they're on a "time travel heist", as it would be impossible for the Architect to so accurately predict when the storm would hit and render the bank's security system vulnerable.

The true nature of the time heist is revealed later, when the gang confront Director Karabraxos in the bank's private vault and the Doctor figures it all out.
7. What is Saibra's reward in the vault?

Answer: Gene suppressant

With Saibra's mutant genes causing her to take on the appearance of any living thing if she touches it, she knows that she can never truly be close to somebody. As she says, "How could you trust if they look back at you through your own eyes?" In box ORG 339 in the vault, the Doctor finds Saibra's reward for the heist: a gene suppressant capable of acting as an antidote to her condition and preventing those mutated genes inside her from making her change. Psi's reward is found in box TECH 251: a neophyte circuit which can restore lost data from a system - perfect for restoring Psi's deleted memories of his friends and family.

The Doctor and Clara find their reward in the private vault, though it turns out to be slightly less tangible.
8. How many atomic shredders are in one of the strategically-placed briefcases in the bank's service tunnels?

Answer: Six

The Doctor believes the atomic shredders are to be used as an "exit strategy", though later when Saibra is targeted by the Teller, she uses a shredder to avoid having her brain turned to soup, thus revealing the shredders use as an exit strategy as being for a more permanent exit. Psi is the next to use his shredder, sacrificing himself to save Clara from the Teller's telepathic assault.

When the Doctor and Clara are apprehended in the vault and taken to Ms. Delphox's office, she leaves two guards to deal with the Doctor and Clara's incineration.

They reveal themselves to be Saibra and Psi, with the atomic shredders acting as teleporters to a ship, safe in orbit high above the bank. With the four of them having one shredder each, they wonder who the remaining two shredders are for.
9. Who is the Architect really?

Answer: The Doctor

In the private vault, Director Karabraxos reveals herself, and she looks exactly like Ms. Delphox. Karabraxos phones up to security and asks Ms. Delphox to send down the Teller to deal with the intruders. She also fires Ms. Delphox, which takes on a more literal meaning in this case. Karabraxos explains that Ms. Delphox is a clone, and that she has clones "in every facility". Firing them means incinerating them, because they know what Karabraxos knows.

The Doctor then remembers his conversation with Saibra earlier (about not trusting someone when they look through your own eyes).

He hastily scribbles down his phone number on a bit of paper and gives it to Karabraxos before she leaves. With the Teller arriving at the vault, the Doctor asks its to scan his mind and unlock the memories he had forgotten.

When all becomes clear, the Doctor reveals that he was the Architect. The TARDIS call was from a dying Karabraxos, telling him she had regrets and that she wants help. The Doctor set the whole heist up, placing everything they needed in the bank in advance, before having them all wipe their memory and forget it so the Teller couldn't apprehend them before their task was complete. With Karabraxos gone, the Teller unlocks a secret room in the private vault, containing a chained up alien creature the same species as itself.

The heist wasn't a heist: it was the Doctor rescuing another of the Teller's kind, held captive by Karabraxos (which was her biggest regret and why she called the Doctor from the future). The two remaining atomic shredders/teleporters were intended for these creatures.
10. Which Italian landmark does the Doctor refer to in a joke when he, Clara, Psi and Saibra are in the TARDIS?

Answer: The Leaning Tower of Pisa

Before he takes them back to their homes, the Doctor appears to be joking around with his new friends as they feast on what looks like Chinese food (given the containers and their use of chopsticks). The Doctor starts the joke by saying, "Cesare Borgia, mucho scary hombre, says to me, "What do you think of our Leaning Tower of Pisa?" The punchline, aided by the Doctor leaning to one side, comes quickly afterwards. "It looks okay to me!" Laughter quite obviously ensues.
