Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Elena Michaels of Bear Valley and played by Laura Vandervoort

Answer: Bitten

"Bitten" premiered in January of 2014 on the Space and Syfy networks, and concluded its three season run in April of 2016. It has also streamed on Netflix. The series was based on a book series by author Kelley Armstrong. Elena was the first human female to survive being bitten and turning into a werewolf.

Laura Vandervoort was also in the reboot of the series "V", played Kara/Supergirl on "Smallville", and was the villain Indigo on "Supergirl" in 2016.
2. Oz played by Seth Green and Veruca played by Paige Moss- both of Sunnydale, California

Answer: Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Oz and Veruca found themselves in a destructive sexual attraction based on their wolfie identities. Oz killed Veruca to protect Willow, but left town to battle that inner demon. When he returned, Willow had already fallen in love with Tara. This was in the show's fourth season. Seth Green was in 40 episodes of "Buffy".
3. Josh Levison, a hospital orderly in Boston, and played by Sam Huntington

Answer: Being Human

The North American version of the series aired on Space and Syfy, and aired four seasons about roommates- a vampire (Aidan), a ghost (Sally), and a werewolf (Josh). Sam also appeared in the film "Detroit, Rock City" and the TV series "Rosewood".
4. Alcide Herveaux, friend of Sookie Stackhouse, and played by Joe Manganiello

Answer: True Blood

The story of Alcide was so changed from the "Southern Vampire" book series by Charlaine Harris, that it was the first of many reasons I quit watching the HBO series. Joe was in over 40 episodes of "True Blood", but became even more well known playing Richie in the "Magic Mike" film franchise. I first saw him on the series "One Tree Hill".
5. Nina Ash of Los Angeles, who dated a vampire, and was played by Jenny Mollen

Answer: Angel

Nina appeared in the final season of "Angel". After she was turned, Angel and his pals saved her from being eaten. She was then offered the use of Wolfram and Hart as a safe location to spend her wolf nights. She and Angel had a brief romance. Jenny Mollen married actor Jason Biggs in 2008, and both have been known to be close friends with Chelsea Handler. Jenny has also appeared on the TV series "Crash", "Girls", "Chicago Fire", and "Chelsea".
6. Tyler Lockwood, played by Michael Trevino, who lived in Mystic Falls

Answer: The Vampire Diaries

Tyler's inherited werewolf curse was triggered when he accidentally killed someone. That was the way it worked in this world. He was Klaus Mikaelson's first hybrid (wolf/vampire) and Tyler was unable to resist Klaus' bidding for a while. Tyler also appeared on "The Originals" before he was killed by Damon Salvatore in the eight and final season of "TVD".
7. Peter Rumancek of Pennsylvania, frenemy of Roman Godfrey, and played by Landon Liboiron in this Netflix original series

Answer: Hemlock Grove

The town and series share the same name. I couldn't get past the second season, so I read about how the final season concluded. The series left me a distaste for Famke Janssen, who I'd previously enjoyed, because I hated her character. But, I found Landon Liboiron's performance compelling in season one, as he changed into a wolf in a way I'd never seen in film or TV previously. He also starred in "Degrassi: The Next Generation", "Terra Nova", and another Netflix original series "Frontier".

Bill Skarsgard played Roman. He is part of a family of actors that include his father Stellan, and brothers Alexander, Gustaf, and Valter. Alexander was in "True Blood", the film "The Legend of Tarzan", and HBO series "Big Little Lies". Gustaf was in the series "Vikings", and Stellan has had a long career that includes several Marvel universe films and "Pirates of the Caribbean" films.
8. Scott McCall and several members of the Hale family in Beacon Hills, California

Answer: Teen Wolf

Tyler Posey played Scott McCall, who was turned by Peter Hale in the first episode of the series. Tyler Hoechlin played Peter's nephew Derek, and Ian Bohen played Peter. All of these men are eye candy in differing ways. Scott, Stiles, Lydia, Allison, and many others fought the forces of darkness over six seasons on this MTV original series.
9. Kris Holden-Ried played Dyson, in love with a succubus, friends with Kenzi and Hale, and in an undisclosed city

Answer: Lost Girl

Bo, the succubus, was played by Anna Silk. The series aired five seasons, and followed Bo's journey to find out what her purpose was in the world. They fought off baddies of all sorts, and the name of their town was never revealed. It had a very New York City vibe, but was filmed in Canada. Dyson sacrificed his ability to love to protect Bo, and when he got it back, she ended up with Dr. Lauren (for the most part). I did not care for Dr. Lauren, so my interest was waning until Valkyrie Tamsin joined the scene. Rachel Skarsten played Tamsin.
10. Garth Fitzgerald, friend to Sam and Dean, and played by DJ Qualls

Answer: Supernatural

Garth was not a werewolf when he first appeared in season seven. He was a unconventional demon hunter, who was very thin and seemed ill prepared for the fight. When he was seen in season nine, he'd become a werewolf. He tried to hide that from the Winchesters, but the secret came out. Qualls was also in the movie "Hustle & Flow", and in the TV series "Z Nation".
