Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Where on the world map are you able to find KAOS Kore?

Answer: North

KAOS Kore is only accessible if the Kongs have beaten K3 and Razor Ridge, both of which can be reached if they have the Turbo Skis and traverse along the mountains and cliffs at the north of the map. When the player defeats the final boss of Razor Ridge, Barbos, KAOS Kore will open automatically, granting access to K. Rool's secret castle and the outlying jungles and pipelines guarding it.
2. In Konveyor Rope Klash, the conveyor ropes themselves only stretch vertically.

Answer: False

This level, the first found in KAOS Kore, takes place in a lush jungle unlike any other location found throughout the game. In this particular location, Dixie and Kiddy need to hop along horizontal stretches of ropes, many of which will be constantly moving in a left-to-right or right-to-left motion.

Some of these will be slower than others, but most of them will lead the Kongs directly into Buzzes and other threats.
3. Which member of the Brothers Bear lives in KAOS Kore?

Answer: Baffle

Baffle's Code Room can be found immediately after the Kongs complete Konveyor Rope Klash on the left side of the bay stretching northward through the center of the stage. Here, Baffle deals in solving puzzles and breaking codes of certain types, and the Kongs will only be able to utilize his services if they purchase a Mirror from Bazaar out on the starting island near Wrinkly's Save Cave.

After using him for his intended purpose, Baffle will simply give out random code puzzles, none of which help in the game.
4. Creepy Caverns is the only level in the game to feature which of these barrel types?

Answer: Ghost Barrels

Ghost Barrels are spooky-looking things which appear almost spontaneously in this second level of KAOS Kore. Ghost Barrels can point in different directions every time they appear (or reappear), almost on a whim, and it's up to the player to get the timing just right to avoid firing into an enemy.

This level, set in a series of caves, also features Squitter the Spider who, considering the types of enemies and the environment, can be a big help.
5. Which of these will protect the Kongs from lightning in Lightning Lookout?

Answer: Enemies

In Lightning Lookout, the only thing that will protect Kongs is clever placement and enemies; standing under foes when lightning strikes will save them, albeit temporarily, from getting electrocuted by almost-sentient strikes from above. You can usually tell where the lightning is going to strike in the split-second before it does, but being in water or in the open at that time may spell your fate.

This is the last level of the game set on a river bank and the third in the KAOS Kore stage.
6. In Koindozer Klamber, how many of the enemies carry DK Coins?

Answer: One

Koindozers are the Kremlings who carry armor and a large shield, usually bearing the DK Coin on the front. This level, the fourth in KAOS Kore, is chock full of them; Dixie and Kiddy need to travel through and along them to avoid being nudged into pits and the like.

Unfortunately, only one of them, as is typical, carries the DK Coin for this level and, as usual, you need to hit him from behind with a barrel to grab the goods. He's also the only one of the Koindozers in the level not to nudge you away if you come close-- luckily.
7. Poisonous Pipeline is a level which switches the left and right controls for the player, but only under which circumstance?

Answer: When swimming

Poisonous Pipeline, the final platforming level of KAOS Kore, sends the Kongs into the pipes of the KAOS Kore Sewer one last time to reach K. Rool. On this occasion though, diving into the poisoned waters of the pipeline will cause the controls of the SNES controller to flip; right and left become swapped only while underwater (though up and down stay the same).

Not all of the level is underwater, so anytime you surface, the controls will revert back to normal. The controls stay flipped when the Kongs ride Enguarde as well.
8. In Kastle KAOS, you fight the evil robot KAOS again. In which stage was he previously fought?

Answer: Mekanos

KAOS was the final boss found in Mekanos, the game's fourth stage (and, by that, the midway point of the game). Not much has changed since KAOS' first appearance except for a few small upgrades. Firstly, KAOS now shoots fire out its bottom for longer times (which should be manageable since the battle arena is larger). Secondly, KAOS now shoots lasers at a certain point.

The tactic remains the same though; you need to hit KAOS in the head repeatedly. When this is done, the battle has only just begun!
9. How do Dixie and Kiddy access the Sewer Stockpile?

Answer: By swimming in a particular pattern

Sewer Stockpile is one of the latest Banana Bird Caverns found over the course of the game, and to figure it out you need to purchase a Mirror from Bazaar, bring it to Baffle (in KAOS Kore), and decode the message he's been trying to crack for however long.

This will recommend swimming around the rocks in the bay of KAOS Kore in a figure eight which will open the nearby sewer and grant access to the cavern. Of course, all of this can be done without the mirror if you already know what to do.
10. During the battle with K. Rool in Kastle KAOS, which of the following will be used?

Answer: Electricity

After the Kongs take out KAOS, K. Rool, now known as Baron K. Roolenstein, will emerge from behind the curtain as the mastermind behind everything and lead into battle against them. During this fight, K. Rool will use a number of tacts to stop the Kongs, most of which involve flying around with his jetpack. As the battle progresses (and the Kongs repeatedly hit him in the back with barrels), they'll need to jump over and slip under the boss, all while avoiding getting hit by the King himself and shocking electricity. When the battle finally ends, Donkey Kong and Diddy will be saved!

But is the game over...?
