Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. To get to Razor Ridge, the player must first beat K3. There is no other way to reach it.

Answer: True

While some of the earlier stages of the game (particularly Cotton-Top Cove and Mekanos) could be beaten in third or fourth, K3 is, no matter what, before Razor Ridge chronologically. In order to cross the isthmus passing in front of the castle in the north end of the map, you need to complete the Bleak's House boss battle (against the snowman boss).

As soon as that's done, you'll be granted access to the cave-heavy stage, Razor Ridge.
2. In Buzzer Barrage, Quawks is able to defeat enemies using which of these?

Answer: Barrels

Quawks, unlike his green counterpart, Squawks, is unable to shoot enemies and must, instead, rely on the items found throughout the level to get through to the end. Because of his strong talons, you can use him to pick up barrels of any type and drop them below. Luckily, a lot of the barrels in the cavernous Buzzer Barrage stage will replenish when used (rightly or wrongly).

As usual, red Buzzes can't be killed with barrels-- only the green ones.
3. Which of these is required to cross the chasm in Razor Ridge?

Answer: Chairlift

Immediately after completing Buzzer Barrage, the Kongs will have the option of taking one of two paths in a fork in the road. To the left, they can visit Wrinkly's Save Cave to protect their progress. To the right they'll meet Benny, one of the two bears of Razor Ridge.

Here, Benny performs the valuable service of operating a chairlift to the other side of the giant chasm cutting through the area. He'll let you cross for free, kindly.
4. In Kong-Fused Cliffs, what's wrong with the ropes climbed throughout the level?

Answer: They're on fire

Kong-Fused Cliffs is a completely vertical level in which Dixie and Kiddy need to climb their way up straight ropes to the top of the cliffs. The catch? Both need to evade enemies on the way up while waiting for the camera to move with them. What else? Well, the ropes are actually on fire, acting like a fuse and burning up behind them, shortening the rope with every passing second.

As such, the level becomes a battle of nerves; you need to dodge and keep climbing all the while until the final platform.
5. What is the name of Benny's brother, also found in Razor Ridge?

Answer: Bjorn

Benny's brother, Bjorn, sits at another chairlift station found immediately after completion of the Kong-Fused Cliffs level. Unlike Benny, however, his chairlift is non-operational. To be able to ride his now-defunct ride, you need to get a wrench from Barter's Swap Shop just outside K3. To get that, however, you need to get him a Mirror, and one of those costs fifty Bear Coins at the Bazaar near Wrinkly's place on the starting island (near Funky's Rentals). Once the chairlift works, you can reach a Banana Bird cavern known as Clifftop Cache.
6. In Floodlit Fish, do the floodlit fish hurt if you swim into them?

Answer: Yes

Well, if you use Enguarde's nose to poke into them at any point (which will be a typical occurrence since you spend the greater portion of the level as the swordfish buddy), you won't get hurt. In fact, doing this is fairly important since it provides the necessary light for crossing through the coral stage. Simply floating into them, however, whether this be with the non-pointy side of Enguarde or with one of the Kongs, will hurt, which isn't good.

While this is the only underwater level of Razor Ridge, the boss battle is also held underwater.
7. During the Pot Hole Panic level, which animal companion can not be used to reach the end?

Answer: Parry

Parry never was one for being integral to the game-- in any case, Parry the Parallel Bird simply flies overhead, collecting items and occasionally defeating larger birds for the items they hide. That being said, Parry is one of the few animals not appearing in Pot Hole Panic.

Instead, you get to spend the level playing with Squawks, Enguarde, Ellie, and Squitter, though really, Squawks is the only mandatory animal. The entire level is set in an underground, partially submerged cave system.
8. Which of these is most prominent in Ropey Rumpus?

Answer: Horizontal ropes

In this fifth and final level of Razor Ridge, the Kongs need to ascend the jagged cliffs of the stage, mainly on horizontal ropes which stretch across large gorges filled with spiky, buzzing enemies. While a few vertical ropes can be found, most of the stage sees Dixie and Kiddy hopping up parallel, horizontal ropes strung between the rocks.

While Parry didn't appear in the previous level, Pot Hole Panic, he's the only animal to appear in this level, toward the end.
9. The Barbos' Barrier boss battle is fought entirely as what animal buddy?

Answer: Enguarde

Enguarde once again takes a prominent role, this time swimming into the dangerous coral lake in the center of the Razor Ridge map for a fight against Barbos, a giant Lurchin who resides there. The goal of this battle is to stick 'em with the pointy end, jabbing into the squishy, center part of the monster when it's open and unprotected. To do this, however, most of the time you need to use the projectiles sent to you to your advantage though, towards the end, it's more about waiting for the right opportunity to strike. Winning the battle gives the Kongs one more Bonus Coin.
10. Completion of Razor Ridge opens up the access to which proceeding stage of the game?

Answer: KAOS Kore

The penultimate stage of the game, KAOS Kore is the castle area found at the north of the map, right between K3 and Razor Ridge. Unfortunately, until the completion of Razor Ridge, the area is blocked off by a large rock wall which can be crossed by the Kongs as an isthmus.

After, however, part of the rock wall bursts away, creating an arch for the Kongs to swim under, granting access to the new world. You don't even need Funky's help with a new vehicle.
