Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The only Brother Bear accessible at the very start of the game is who of these?

Answer: Bazaar

Bazaar's general store is just west of Wrinkly's Save Cave and Funky's Rentals on the starting island at which there are no regular levels. Although Bazaar is visited quite early on (if you choose, that is), it's very likely you'll make frequent visits to his shop just to be able to make different purchases over the course of the game; some cost more Bear Coins than others.

Besides these items, there are only a few other reasons to pick up Bear Coins in your travels...unless you're particularly interested in visiting Swanky Kong's sideshows.
2. In Lake Orangatanga, Barnacle collects which of these items?

Answer: Shells

In the first world of the game, you can stop by Barnacle's island cabin smack-dab in the middle of Lake Orangatanga to have a quick chat about his favourite collectibles: seashells. Fortunately, if you already have five Bear Coins, which may be a possibility since, at this point, you'll have visited a couple of early levels, you can head to Bazaar's General Store on the starting island and purchase a seashell, just like that. Once this is done, Barnacle will hand over a Banana Bird to make a fair trade.
3. If you beat Brash's time in the Riverside Race, what will happen?

Answer: He'll get angry

Brash, as his name would suggest, is a relatively disgruntled bear waiting in a cabin in the top left corner of Kremwood Forest's map. His hobby, beating his personal best in the Riverside Race level's timed aspect, can be ruined forever if you trump his 1:25:00 track time. Should this happen, you'll accomplish all he's good for by making him angry enough to dislodge a log and create a crossable path in the river. All of this will result in a new Banana Bird Cave.
4. Which of these items has nothing to do with the Brothers Bear?

Answer: Patch

The Patch is the only one of these four items to be given to you not by or for one of the Bears, but by a boss. Completion of the game's second boss, Arach, will result in your receiving the patch, the only necessary piece of the puzzle when you need a new vehicle: the Hover Craft. You end up handing it over to Funky Kong when you need to head to Cotton-Top Cove and K3. All three other items are received from Brothers Bear for other Brothers Bear in some way.
5. The gift given to Blue in Cotton-Top Cove will actually result in a Banana Bird Cave being reachable in which other location in the game?

Answer: Mekanos

The trading game created with Blue in mind is actually quite the lengthy one, actually beginning up in K3's mountainous stretches. Here, you can visit Blizzard, a bear who actually has a birthday present for poor, depressed Blue in Cotton-Top Cove. Blue will open the gift and subsequently pass it on to the Kongs; it's a Bowling Ball.

The Bowling Ball can then be brought to Bazooka in Mekanos to be fired from Big Bessie, opening an up-high Banana Bird Cave and ending the sequence.
6. In which of these areas of the game can you find Bramble?

Answer: None of these

Bramble is actually found in the overview world map and not in one of the unique stages of the game. Accessible once you reach the Cotton-Top Cove/Mekanos region in the north of the map, you can only work with Bramble, a botanist, if a special flower, the Flupperius Petallus Pongus, blooms near her cabin on the western wall. If you hand this over, only doable after Razor Ridge is complete, you'll get a Banana Bird in exchange.
7. One of the bears who runs a chairlift is Bjorn. Which of these is the other?

Answer: Benny

Found in Razor Ridge, Benny and Bjorn are two very similar brothers; both of them run the chairlifts snaking their way across the cliffs. While Benny's chairlift is A-OK and allows the Kongs to cross the canyon to the second half of the stage, Bjorn's won't be working upon your first visit. To get his to work, you need to find a No. 6 Wrench; Barter is the only one with one of those. Fortunately, you can get it off him by trading with a Mirror. You can buy a Mirror from Bazaar for fifty Bear Coins.
8. How many of Baffle's secret codes will lead to a Banana Bird Cave?

Answer: One

Baffle is the code-breaking bear found in the KAOS Kore stage of the game, and while his puzzles aren't too difficult to crack, only one is of any real use when considering your progress in the game. It's through Baffle that you can learn how to collect the KAOS Kore Banana Bird; you need to swim around the rocks in the water in a figure eight enough times for the sewer grate under the castle to open for you. Any subsequent codes are just silly messages.
9. What is the name of the bear who speaks of the possibility of a hidden 'Lost World'?

Answer: Blunder

Blunder can be visited quite early on in the course of the game-- you can stop by his cabin once you've completed Kremwood Forest. While Blunder will never give any specific items or ask for anything in return, he will make a point of letting the Kongs know of the possibility of a secret 'Lost World' somewhere on the maps.

The further along you progress in the game, the less cryptic his messages will become. By the time you've fought K. Rool in KAOS Kore, he'll tell you outright how to get to Krematoa.
10. Boomer will take Bonus Coins from you in Krematoa, but he'll also make a place for which of these late-game collectables?

Answer: Gears

Gears are only found at the end of the five levels found throughout Krematoa, and collecting all five will allow you to raise the bridge into the volcano's crater to fight K. Rool one last time on his submersible, the Knautilus. Boomer, otherwise, will take your Bonus Coins from throughout the game and use them to blow up piles of rocks along the path in this stage of the game. All eighty-five Bonus Coins are needed to access all five levels...and subsequently all five gears in the machine.
