Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Throughout "Pokémon Yellow, Red, and Blue", there are many Pokémon which can be captured. Some weaker Pokémon like Pidgey and Rattata can be captured early in the game while some like Gastly and Seel are only found in very few places. A good place to find Pokémon is the Safari Zone. Here you can find Dratini, Chansey, and Scyther. Dragonair is even found here in "Pokémon Yellow". Of course, if you want a Scyther can always be found at the Game Corner in Celadon City if you don't want to catch it. Other places to find wild Pokémon are the Pokémon Mansion, Power Plant, and Victory Road.

2. A great feature of the "Pokémon" games is the ability to evolve your Pokémon into stronger forms. For example, evolving your Diglett into a Dugtrio can not only make it better, but it adds another Pokémon to your Pokédex. Although many Pokémon, such as the Kangaskhan and the Snorlax can't be evolved, some Pokémon can be evolved once and even twice. For example, Gastly evolves into Haunter at level 25, and then into Gengar at level 42. Some Pokémon require a little help to evolve though. Weepinbell needs a Leaf Stone to evolve into Victreebel. In "Pokémon Yellow", it's impossible for your starter Pokémon, Pikachu, to evolve.

3. Items are quite important factors in helping your Pokémon succeed and helping you become the greatest Pokémon trainer. Items in the game can range from abundant, such as Potions and Pokéballs, and rare such as Carbos and Calcium. Many of these items can be bought in the Celadon City Department Store at various prices, but some are quite rare. Rare Candies, for example, can not be bought in any store. Some Evolution Stones can also be used to evolve Pokémon such as Growlithe, Poliwag, and Exeggcute. These can be bought on the fourth floor of the Department Store. Some items, like Antidote and Awakening, will cure Pokémon status effects. Full Heal will heal any status effect, but not low HP.
My facts aren't straight here. What did I get wrong?
4. In nearly every city, you can fight a gym leader for a badge at their gyms. There are eight badges throughout Kanto for you to collect, and each leader uses different types of Pokémon. Brock, for example, is in Pewter City, and he uses rock-type Pokémon, while Erika, in Celadon City, uses grass-type Pokémon. Some towns, such as Lavender Town, Pallet Town, and Viridian City have no gym at all, yet Saffron City contains two of them! After defeating a gym leader, you'll receive your badge and a TM such as Bide (TM 34) or Psywave (TM 46). The final gym leader gives you the TM containing Fissure.
As the editor of my quiz, you should have caught this one. What's the factual error in this summary?
5. The people you meet in this game will be crucial in your quest to become an ultimate Pokémon champion. Professor Oak, for example, will give you your starting Pokémon and your Pokédex. You'll be able to contact him from Pokécenters throughout the game. Bill is also important, being the creator of the Pokémon storage system. He'll also give you an S. S. Anne Ticket which in turn will get you HM01 (Flash). This can be used to get you through the Rock Tunnel with ease. Your rival on the other hand, will be ahead of you throughout the game, and during your final battle with him at the Indigo Plateau, you'll have to summon up all of your strength and become the best trainer in Kanto.
What's not true about this paragraph?
6. Kanto is a big place, and during the course of the game, you'll cover most of it. Lavender Town, for example, is a place you'll visit more than once. You'll pass through it on your way out of the Rock Tunnel, and you'll return to it with the Silph Scope so that you can help Mr. Fuji. A lot of these places are inaccessible without certain items. For example, you need a Pokéflute to reach Fuchsia City and HM03 to reach Cinnabar Island. Pokémon also reflect their area. Water Pokémon can be found in Seafoam Island while ground Pokémon, like Onix and Graveler are in Diglett Cave.
I should stop while I'm ahead. There must be an error seen in there. What's wrong with this?
7. Pokémon can be different types, and have different strengths and weaknesses. Because of this, Pokémon have many different possible attacks and techniques. Fire Pokémon may have strong attacks like Fire Blast and Ember, but water Pokémon will not be as affected by these as grass-type Pokémon. Attacks like Poisonpowder and Sleep Powder are grass-type moves, and they won't do any damage, but they'll affect the opponent in some way. Pokémon can also learn attacks using TMs and HMs. All HMs will directly damage a Pokémon when used.

8. There are some Pokémon in the game which will be more difficult to catch than others. Articuno, for example, is one of the three legendary bird Pokémon in the game and it can be found at Seafoam Island. It learns moves up to level 60, which include Blizzard, Agility, and Mist. Zapdos and Moltres are the other two Pokémon, and one of these is found in the Power Plant. Mewtwo, possibly the rarest Pokémon in the game, is found in the unknown dungeon to the south of Cerulean City. There is only one Hitmonlee and one Hitmonchan in each game. There is also only one Aerodactyl.
What's the error in this one?
9. There are many differences that set each game apart. "Pokémon Yellow, Red, and Blue" each have Pokémon unique to their own games. For example, Ekans is only found in the wild in "Pokémon Red". Magmar is the only Pokémon exclusively caught in "Pokémon Blue". Pokémon owned by each gym leader can be different as well! Brock, for example, has differently leveled Pokémon, while Koga has different Pokémon altogether between "Pokémon Yellow" and "Pokémon Red or Blue". The biggest difference is the surfer in Fuchsia City, which can be interacted with in "Pokémon Yellow".
In this paragraph of differences, what is the only statement that's different and incorrect?
10. The end of the game is quite basic. Fight through the Elite Four, and beat your rival in order to become the greatest Pokémon Master. So, get to the Indigo Plateau and begin the fight. Your first battle is against Lorelei, who hones her ice Pokémon, such as Dewgong and Lapras. Bruno is the second, and his Pokémon, ranging from level 53 to 58, will each be fighting or rock-type. The third, Agatha, uses ghost Pokémon, while Lance uses dragon-type Pokémon (including Pokémon #147: Dragonite). After this, you can battle your rival. Your rival will always use an Alakazam, but in each game, they'll have different Pokémon based on which Pokémon they started with, and what it evolved into. Their final Pokémon will always be level 65. After you beat your rival, you and Professor Oak will end the game.
