Norman Reedus became famous portraying Daryl Dixon in the AMC television series "The Walking Dead" which began airing in 2010. Norman reprised this role in the video game "The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct" which was released for multiple systems in 2013.

In "Death Stranding", Norman portrayed the main character Sam Porter Bridges who lived in a post-apocalyptic America, which had been devastated by a supernatural disaster several years prior to the game's main storyline.

In "Death Stranding", Sam Porter Bridges was a professional porter, which is defined as "a person employed to carry luggage and other loads". Most of the missions in "Death Stranding" involved having Sam continuously deliver cargo from one location to another. Sam wore a special suit and backpack designed to allow him to carry a large amount of cargo at one time to minimize trips.

He could stack boxes fairly high, though the more weight he carried, the harder it was for him to move around. Throughout the game, Sam would increase maximum cargo capacity as he gained experience and new technology to aid in his deliveries.

Answer: Amelie

Bridget Strand was portrayed as Sam's adoptive mother. She was the president of what remained of the United States (now called the United Cities of America) following the Death Stranding incident. Amelie Strand was initially portrayed to be Bridget's daughter and an adoptive sister to Sam.

However, it was later revealed that Amelie and Bridget were two halves of the same person, whose body and soul were divided. Bridget was actually Amelie's body, while Amelie's soul remained trapped in a supernatural realm known in the game as "The Beach". Amelie made Sam and others believe that she had been kidnapped by a group of terrorists on the opposite side of the country.

Before Bridget Strand passed away, she called Sam in to ask a big favor of him. She wanted Sam to travel across the former United States in order to complete Amelie's mission of linking the Death Stranding survivors into a type of new internet known as the "Chiral Network". Die-Hardman, who was Bridget's chief of security, gave Sam a floating necklace called the Q-Pid that would allow him to link each area to the new network.

While some locations would join the network almost immediately after Sam's arrival, others would be more hesitant and Sam would need to earn their support by completing several missions for them before they would commit to joining the network.

Answer: Bridge Baby

In "Death Stranding", a "bridge baby" (BB) was an unborn fetus that had been removed from its brain-dead mother. They were placed inside a special pod designed to mimic the conditions inside of a woman's uterus. However, the BB's were not expected to live longer than a year and were usually too immature to survive outside of the pod. BB's had the ability to sense the location of "beached things" (BT's), which were dangerous ghost-like entities made out of anti-matter. If a BT were to consume a living being made of normal matter it would trigger a "voidout", a huge explosion that could destroy a city and leave a large crater behind. Sam inherited a BB after its previous owner, Igor Frank, was killed in a voidout. Sam would grow attached to his BB and would later name it "Lou".

All of Sam's bodily fluids were determined to have a strong effect on the BT's. Some major delivery sites had a special room set aside for Sam to rest at in between missions. Whenever Sam took a shower or used the toilet in this room, his sweat, urine and feces would be collected and turned into EX grenades.

The EX grenades helped to defend against BT's, but could not defeat them. Sam would eventually have his blood collected as he slept, which would be used to construct hematic (blood) grenades, which did have the ability to kill a BT. Additional blood based weapons would be made available as the story progressed.

Sam Porter Bridges was known as a repatriate. While he was able to die, his spirit would return to his body after spending some time in limbo (aka The Seam). During the game, when the player died, he/she would have to maneuver Sam's spirit through the Seam to reconnect it with his physical body.

A fetus inside of Sam's throat (yes, really) would give players a thumbs up whenever Sam was successfully brought back to life. In addition to being a repatriate, Sam also had a set of abilities known as DOOMS, which would allow him to sense the presence of a BT, though he could not detect their location without the aid of his BB.

Sam was known to be afflicted with aphenphosmphobia, the fear of emotional attachment and physical touch. He would often turn away or resist anyone who attempted any kind of physical contact with him, whether it be a simple handshake or a hug. This fear stems from the fact that when another person touches his bare skin, it leaves behind scars and bruises on his body.

Answer: Monster Energy

In the early portions of "Death Stranding", Sam could replenish his stamina by drinking Monster Energy. He could store the beverage in a canteen if he needed to use it during a mission. If Sam filled up the canteen with normal water out in the field, it would be converted into Monster Energy.

There would also be several cans of Monster Energy waiting for Sam in his private room if he needed a stamina boost between missions. Later in the game, the Monster Energy drinks would be replaced with a fictional alcoholic beverage known as Timefall Porter.

Answer: Clifford Unger

At several points in the game Sam would encounter the spirit of a former American military hero named Clifford Unger, who was portrayed by Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen. Clifford's wife (Sam's biological mother) was involved in an accident which had left her brain-dead while she was pregnant.

In an attempt to save his unborn son, he volunteered the baby Sam to be experimented on as the first BB. Clifford would eventually begin to regret this decision. Clifford euthanized his wife and attempted to flee the laboratory with Sam.

However, he was caught and killed, which inadvertently resulted in the death of the unborn Sam. When Sam passed away he showed up at "The Beach", where a remorseful Amelie brought Sam back to life, which actually turned out to be the initial cause of the Death Stranding.
