Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is the name of this zone's Horde outpost?

Answer: Valormok

Valormok is relatively off-the-beaten-path. As evidenced by the outpost's makeshift camp setting, it's hardly a permanent residence for locals. Containing the only Horde flightpath of Azshara, the outpost is somewhat useful- especially since the NPCs here will give players some of the only Azshara quests for Horde players. Most of these will take players across the northern regions of the zone and the central areas.

There is no inn available in Valormok, but it is typically free of enemies. It can be found north of Haldarr Encampment.
2. Talrendis Point is south of the main road in Azshara.

Answer: True

Much like Valormok, Talrendis Point is a very small outpost- Azshara doesn't contain any major towns. This Alliance-centric location contains a flightpath location and a couple traders/questgivers, but there's nothing else substantial here. There's not even an inn or hearthstone location here. Talrendis Point is found south of the main road (which doesn't stretch that far), but it's close to the western border at Ashenvale, making it very easy to access for new players to the zone, but difficult for those completing quests deeper in.
3. The Ruins of Eldarath contain what type of enemies?

Answer: Naga

This seaside zone has it fair share of these water-based creatures and like Murlocs, they'll appear at any coastal landmark that Azshara has to offer. The Ruins of Eldarath are at the end of the single path leading (at least halfway) across Azshara. Once a major temple in the region, this area has been destroyed by 'cataclysmic events' over the centuries to become wreckage of what it once was, though many other temples line the beaches of this zone.

The Naga in this area are usually over level 50, so only higher-level players should come through, though some of the quests going through here lead up to more important dungeon quests.
4. What can be found at Bear's Head?

Answer: A tower

Resting high in the cliffsides of northern Azshara, Bear's Head is only accessible if players speak with NPCs in order to be teleported to its front door, otherwise it's near-impossible to reach the perch upon which this tower rests. Bear's Head is inhabited by a number of magical characters including Archmage Xylem who gives quests for some of the dungeons across Azeroth. One NPC to take you to Bear's Head can be found at a small ritual site outside Valormok near the northern mountains.

This location is also known as Azshara Tower.
5. What is the name of the shipwreck found in the Ruined Reaches?

Answer: Horizon Scout

The Horizon Scout is quite the landmark because many of the crewmembers of this capsized vessel are still underwater, breathing as a result of a magic spell. Players can investigate the ship all they want- they may not find anything of value, but it's a neat little area to check out in the Ruined Reaches off Azshara's southern reaches.

It's hypothesized that Naga forces sunk the ship as they are present in the stretch of water it's located in, but it hasn't been proven.
6. The Bitter Reaches contain Cliff Thunderers and Cliff Breakers. What's special about these?

Answer: They're elite

Usually in the mid-50s level range, these Elite creatures are large stone golems which can pack a punch if you're out and about in the reaches of Azshara on your own. In addition, many mid-level 50 non-elites can be found in this area, such as oozes and winged chimeras.

The Bitter Reaches are found in Azshara's northeastern corner on the coast of the Great Sea. The Jagged Reef lines the top region of this area, separating the land from the foreboding coast. Its south end is blocked by the Shattered Strand before finishing at the Tower of Eldara on the edge of the sands.

This region is usually filled with Murlocs and hard-shelled turtle creatures. The Ruined Reaches in the south end of Azshara feature similar enemies.
7. Hetaera's Clutch is found in the Bay of Storms. What else is found here?

Answer: Scalebeard's Cave

The Bay of Storms is a large region containing an archipelago of islands in the central/eastern portions of the zone. Scalebeard's Cave is found near the center and it occasionally houses a large level 52 (elite) turtle boss known as Scalebeard. Hetaera's Clutch is similar.

In its regions, a hydra known as Hetaera will be swimming around and inside this small mini-dungeon will be similar hydra creatures. Additionally, the area also contains the Temple of Arkkoran, the home of the friendly Sea Giant Lord Arkkoran who leads the forces that bear his name in the region.

The Servants and Sons of Arkkoroc can be found in the waters and on the surrounding shores- all of these are elite monsters.
8. What colour dragons can be found in the region known as Lake Mennar?

Answer: Blue

Lake Mennar is found off the beaten path in the southern regions of Azshara, and while many players won't need to visit this tranquil lake, it's worth noting that the area is filled with Blue Scalebane and the opportunity to come across Blue Dragonflight, one of the only places in the original game to do so outside Mazthoril in Winterspring.

Other than these locations, many areas in Northrend, accessible with the "Wrath of the Lich King" expansion, should give you some close encounters with such dragons.
9. Although Azshara connects to Ashenvale, players can swim down the Southfury River to which zone?

Answer: The Barrens

Southfury River flows from Azshara's southwest corner all the way south to its basin at the Great Sea. In doing this, the waterway also passes next to Orgrimmar as well as Durotar and the Barrens before terminating somewhere close to Ratchet on the continent's eastern coast. Players swimming through this waterway will come across low-level crocolisks and little else.

Other than an impractical mode of transportation, this really won't have much bearing on your travels outside another map location.
10. Does Azshara contain any instanced dungeons?

Answer: No

Although Azshara marks one of the southernmost points of Northern Kalimdor, players will find that it follows the exact same trend as the other regions in the same category. Of all of Northern Kalimdor, Ashenvale is the only one to contain an instance- Blackfathom Deeps for level 25-30 players.

The closest instance for Azshara players otherwise would be Ragefire Chasms, an even lower-level instance found within the Cleft of Shadow in Orgrimmar (in Durotar). Of course, if you're an Alliance player, it may be a bit difficult to sneak inside.
