Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Chillwind Camp is the only town in the zone. Which faction controls it?

Answer: Alliance

Chillwind Camp is perhaps the southernmost location in the Western Plaguelands literally squeezing against the border below. There are numerous quest NPCs found here as well as a flightpath and a few different services though it's nothing to write home about.

This is somewhat of a hub for Alliance players though and it remains quite close to some of the major locations found within the zone. Additionally, Horde players will come across the town in order to complete a quest for the Argent Dawn, though it's not required to advance through the game necessarily.
2. What is the name of the area on the western edge of the zone?

Answer: The Bulwark

A Horde quest hub for the majority of the zone from west to east, The Bulwark overlaps onto the zone to the west of the Western Plaguelands. Quests here will take players all the way up the main path across the zone and to Darrowmere Lake's main regions. Comparatively, the most of the Alliance quests in this zone are obtained from the southerly Chillwind Camp which, in all fairness, is probably closer to these areas than the Bulwark.

This area is filled with spiders and bears reaching the low level 50s as it is one of the earlier areas in the zone.
3. The Ruins of Andorhal are controlled by which elite enemy?

Answer: Araj the Summoner

Araj the Summoner was once a significant figure in the instance for this zone, but since his departure, he has ruled the Ruins of Andorhal, an area in the south-central region of the Western Plaguelands, once known for being one of the most difficult areas of the game. Araj is a level 61 elite boss guarded by a number of patrols in the center of the ruined town. Araj is a Lich boss, and both Alliance and Horde can find their respective quests to defeat him from their nearest quest hub.

The Ruins themselves also feature a number of quests, most of which involve defeating undead creatures and finishing up with some mystical phenomena.
4. Which of these is not a farming field found in the Western Plaguelands?

Answer: Olsen's Farthing

Because the Western Plaguelands were, at one point, quite a good place to perform agricultural tasks, the main road is dotted with now-uninhabited farmlands, mostly teeming with enemies. As you go from west to east, there will be four of them, one after another. Each one contains a large cauldron monitored by a lord, and for certain quests these must be destroyed.
Olsen's Farthing is the odd one out. To reach this farmstead, players need to make their way southwest to Silverpine Forest (through one of the adjacent zones). Olsen's Farthing is along the main path through the zone.
5. Dalson's Tears is unique in the sense that it's the only farm in the zone to contain which of these?

Answer: An outhouse

Another of the main road farms, Dalson's Tears is the one found to the northeast. Players come here to do their regular cauldron quests and the like, but if you're able, you can find an outhouse key on one of the nearby skeletons, open it up, fight Farmer Dalston himself, and use a key he drops to open a cabinet on the top floor of the farmhouse to complete a quest. Really, the only reward is a shotgun or a ring, but it's still something. Each farm in the zone has similar quests to complete revolving around the farms and their inhabitants.
6. Which faction group has an overwhelming influence on many of the quests in this zone?

Answer: The Argent Dawn

Much like the other faction-based groups in the game, the Argent Dawn gives player faction based on quest completion and other killing/gathering tasks. In regards to the Western Plaguelands, the Argent Dawn run out of the Bulwark for Horde players and Chillwind Camp for the Alliance.

Many of the cauldron quests and specific quests taking place at the farms in the area are Argent Dawn specifically. The Argent Dawn are run out of Darnassus, the Alliance city. The Argent Dawn also have a significant presence in the Eastern Plaguelands at Light's Hope Chapel.
7. Uther's Tomb can be visited near which location?

Answer: Sorrow Hill

Uther's Tomb is a monument which pays respect to the "Warcraft" hero who was murdered by his nephew, Arthas. His grave in the southern region of Western Plaguelands serves as an important landmark to players who know the lore. An Alliance leader, Uther Lightbringer was a paladin who served in the war against the Horde. Players who enter the Caverns of Time in Tanaris can converse with Uther in the 'Culling of Stratholme' area.

A small battle can occur for Horde players who show up at the tomb at Sorrow Hill just east of Chillwind Camp.
8. What is the name of the Scarlet Crusade stronghold in the northern reach of the Western Plaguelands?

Answer: Hearthglen

Containing the stronghold known as Mardenholde Keep, this town in the very north of the zone (up a long path guarded by many different enemies) is a fortress for the Scarlet Crusade, known for their influence on many different zones in Azeroth. The only elite portion of the Western Plaguelands, enemies here are typically in the mid-to-high level 50s, and of course, all of them are of elite status. New Hearthglen, a similar city run by the Scarlet Onslaught, is found in Dragonblight in "Wrath of the Lich King".
9. What is the lowest level zone bordering the Western Plaguelands?

Answer: Tirisfal Glade

Although the Western Plaguelands border four different, distinct zones, the lowest-level one for players will always be Tirisfal Glades, the starting zone for Undead players and home of the Undercity, one of the major Horde locations in the game. This zone is meant for players from level 1 to around level 15. Eastern Plaguelands is found directly to the east, adjacent to its counterpart, The Hinterlands can be accessed to the southeast, and players can reach the Alliance town of Aerie Peak easily by following the pathway there, and Alterac Mountains is to the southwest past Chillwind Camp. All of these areas are for higher levels.
10. What instanced dungeon can be found at Caer Darrow?

Answer: Scholomance

Scholomance, once a prestigious academy of necromancy, has become a fairly evil school of the undead (who knew things would go so wrong?). Made for players between level 50 and 60, the instance is quite difficult for most players, even being one of the few in the original "World of Warcraft" game to require a key to enter.

Inevitably, after a staggering amount of boss battles through the extensive halls of the dungeon, players will need to defeat Darkmaster Gandling in order to claim the achievement and beat the dungeon once and for all. Scholomance can be found on the island of Caer Darrow in the middle of Darrowmere Lake.

It's the only instance in the Western Plaguelands.
