Answer: A Song for Michael Collins

"Life is a Long Song" is on the "Living in the Past" compilation album, released in 1972. "Songs from the Wood" is the title track from that album, released in 1977. "Christmas Song" is from "This Was," released in 1968. Ian did write a song for Michael Collins, the astronaut who did not walk on the moon, but it was entitled, "For Michael Collins, Jeffery and Me" and is on the "Benefit" album, released in 1970.

The Jeffery referred to in the song is Jeffrey Hammond, who later became bass player for the band.
2. Led Zeppelin had a couple of "Song" songs, but which one was a movie as well?

"The Song Remains the Same" was released in 1976. The concert scenes were filmed at Madison Square Garden over three days during their 1973 tour. In the movie, each of the band members had a fantasy sequence as well. Both "The Song Remains the Same" and "The Rain Song" were included on the movie soundtrack and were on Zeppelin's fifth studio album, "Houses of the Holy," released in 1973.

Legend has it that singer/songwriter Lori Lieberman was inspired to write a poem, "Killing Me Softly with His Blues" after seeing Don McLean ("American Pie") in concert. The song, composed by Norman Gimbel and Charles Fox, was first recorded by Lieberman in 1971. Roberta Flack's Grammy-winning cover of the song was released in 1973.
