Answer: The Offspring - "Pretty Fly (for a White Guy)"

"Pretty Fly (for a White Guy)" became the ninth song to top the list. In addition to this, it was also the third song to top the list which also became a number one hit on the ARIA Singles Chart. The next time this happened was in 2008 when "Sex on Fire" by Kings of Leon topped the list.
2. Which song was voted in at number 100 in the countdown?

Answer: Not From There - "Sick Offnen"

"Sick Offnen" is Not From There's first song to ever make the Hottest 100. It comes from their ARIA Award winning album "Sand on Seven".
Dandy Warhols - "Every Day Should Be a Holiday" made number 68.
Foo Fighters - "My Hero" made number 74.
Green Day - "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)" made number 84.
3. Which artist had the most entries in the countdown?

Answer: Regurgitator

Regurgitator scored four entries in the countdown from their triple platinum selling album "Unit". They made the countdown with "! (The Song Formerly Known As)", "Polyester Girl", "I Like Your Old Stuff Better Than Your New Stuff (Remix)", and "Black Bugs". All of these songs made the top 50.
4. Did any artist receive consecutive entries in the countdown? (Example: 14 and 15)

Answer: Yes

In addition to having the most entries in the countdown, Regurgitator also are the only artist to receive consecutive entries. The songs "I Like Your Old Stuff Better Than Your New Stuff (Remix)" and "Polyester Girl" made numbers 27 and 26 respectively.

A cover of "Throw Your Arms Around Me" by Paul McDermott made number 31. The original version of the song made number two in the 1989 and 1990 countdowns, when the voting was not limited to the previous year. It also made number two in the 1998 Hottest 100 of all time.

Answer: Number 23

1998 was not a success year for British artists in the countdown, with Massive Attack's "Teardrop" being the highest entry at number 23. In total, there were only ten British entries in the countdown, with eight English entries and two Welsh entries. No British artist received multiple entries.

Answer: The Living End

The Living End managed to score three entries in 1998, with "Save the Day", "Second Solution", and "Tainted Love" making numbers ten, 15, and 17. All of the other artists have had top 20 entries in previous years.

Of the seven artists who had previously topped the list, the only one to make the 1998 list was The Whitlams. They had three entries in the countdown, with "Buy Now Pay Later (Charlie No. 2)", "Melbourne", and "Charlie No. 3" making numbers 37, 43, and 56 respectively.

Although The Whitlams were the only previous number one artist to make the list, Powderfinger, who topped the list in future years, also made the list.
