Answer: Bernard Fanning - "Wish You Well"

Bernard Fanning has an impressive history in the Hottest 100. With his band Powderfinger, he has topped the list in 1999 and 2000. "Wish You Well" was the first single from his debut solo album "Tea and Sympathy", which peaked at number one.
2. Which song was voted in at number 100?

Answer: The Cat Empire - "Party Started"

"Party Started" was the first of four entries for The Cat Empire in the 2005 countdown.
Arctic Monkeys - "I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor" was number 50.
Cog - "Run" was number 71.
System of a Down - "Hypnotize" was number 76.
3. Which band received a record six entries into the countdown?

Answer: Wolfmother

Wolfmother achieved six entries for their J Award winning self-titled album. These entries were "Mind's Eye" at number six, "Joker and the Thief" at number nine, "Apple Tree" at number 16, "Dimension" at number 37, "Colossal" at number 39, and "White Unicorn" at number 84.

Answer: Ben Lee - "Catch My Disease"

Ben Lee is rather unlucky in the Hottest 100. He has twice received the number two song and has never been at number one. He previously made number two in 1998 with "Cigarettes Will Kill You".

Answer: Gorillaz

Although this has happened twice before, this was the first time that an artist has also had a third entry in the countdown, (excluding countdowns not limited to a single year). Gorillaz made it into the countdown with "Feel Good Inc." at number three, "Dare" at number five, and "Dirty Harry" at number 41.
6. What was the highest cover version in the countdown?

Answer: Sarah Blasko - "Flame Trees"

"Flame Trees" was voted in at number 15 and was featured on the Cold Chisel tribute album "Standing on the Outside: The Songs of Cold Chisel".
The Herd - "I Was Only 19" made number 18.
Little Birdy - "Six Months in a Leaky Boat" made number 96.
7. Which artist had the longest song in the countdown?

Answer: Green Day

Green Day's song "Jesus of Suburbia" is the longest song to ever appear in the Hottest 100, with the full version lasting nine minutes and eight seconds. The second longest song is "I Will Possess Your Heart" by Death Cab for Cutie in 2008, with the full version lasting eight minutes and 35 seconds.
8. Which of these bands received four entries in the countdown?

Answer: Bloc Party

Wolfmother were not the only band to receive numerous entries in the countdown. Bloc Party achieved four entries from their debut album "Silent Alarm". These were "Two More Years" at number 23, "Helicopter" at number 40, "Positive Tension" at number 45, and "Like Eating Grass" at number 88. The Cat Empire also had four entries.
9. What was the highest placed song by an American artist?

Answer: Foo Fighters - "Best of You"

"Best of You" made it to number four in the countdown. The Foo Fighters have also achieved top ten entries with "Generator" at number eight in 2000, and "The Pretender" at number six in 2007.
The Bloodhound Gang - "Foxtrot Uniform Charlie Kilo" made number 24.
System of a Down - "B.Y.O.B." made number 27.
Audioslave - "Be Yourself" made number 51.
10. Which Nordic country had the highest entry in the countdown?

Answer: Norway

"Computer Camp Love" by Norwegian band Datarock was the highest Nordic entry, coming in at number 12, making the highest ever entry by a Norwegian artist. Although there were no entries by Finnish or Swedish artists, Icelandic singer, Emilíana Torrini had two entries in the countdown. These were "Sunny Road" at number 44 and "Heartstopper" at number 91.
