"America's Next Top Model" - Cycle 2 Quiz

In the first week of the competition, the twelve girls met for their competition and found their spots in the penthouse apartment which would be their home for the next couple months. Tyra also invited them to their very first photo shoot for the show with photographer and eventual judge, Nigel Barker. Upon their arrival, the girls were told that they would be wearing nothing by body paint, sequins, and a few props. Anna, a mother from Georgia and the only plus-sized model in the group, opted not to participate.

She was eliminated first over Jenascia, who was two months late for the same shoot.

Answer: Shoes

For their shoot this week, the girls needed to select a pair of shoes that would compliment them in a photo, then do their own hair and make-up to enhance the message of the shoes. When prompted to get in touch with their own image, some of the girls shines while others ended up perpetuating the issues that the judges had already brought up. During the judging, the girls needed to show off their runway skills for J Alexander and while Shandi was close to being eliminated because of her horrible runway walk, the judges ousted Bethany because of her figure.

Answer: Caite

For Week 3, the girls received make-up training from Jay Manuel and Yoanna won a dinner for herself and three others because she best exhibited the skills passed down. When the girls went to the shoot, they were told that they would be suspended over a large open hole wearing clothes from Laundry. Caite was the last to take her photos because she was petrified of heights.

When she went in front of the judges, she ended up beating out several girls with only a dozen photos to her name while Xiomara, who allowed Jay to comfort Caite instead of guide her, was put up on the chopping block.

Instead, Heather was eliminated.

Answer: Lupus

Week 4 of the girls' journey began with a workout before the girls were called to a personal style session to learn how to dress themselves appropriately as models. Caite had another emotional moment when her style was deemed equivalent to a hooker. The girls were tested on this with Betsey Johnson and the winner, Shandi, was able to go on a dinner with season one winner Adrienne Curry.

The shoot for the week involved dressing up as celebrities; Mercedes won this one. When the girls stood in front of the judges, Caite was saved over Jenascia who, after several criticisms for being too short, was also told by the guest judge that she needed six more months of modelling school to be ready. Throughout this week, Mercedes dealt with the struggles she had with lupus (including her hair falling out).

Answer: Water

Tyra met with the girls on week 5 and bonded with them over one-on-one conversations. After this, they had a psychic reading and competed answering personality questions for Janice Dickinson. Mercedes finally came clean about her condition for the girls and ended up winning the reward, a visit from her mother and a shopping spree.

The girls' major shoot this week was promoting Quench Water in an underwater-themed task. The girls held their breath as shots were taken and ultimately Sara won the week (thanks in part to a quick judging in front of the panel). Xiomara was eliminated this week.

Answer: Camille

With seven girls left in the competition, the race to become the next top model got fiercer. After a set of black-and-white photos of each of the girls, they ended up heading to an acting class. During this time, Camille had an allergic reaction and was late for the project. April won the challenge before the girls acted in a commercial for the Rollitos snack brand. During the judging, Catie went home for a series of missteps throughout the competition, especially during the shoots this week; a crippling fear of heights exhibited in several tasks showed she didn't have the capability to fill the title.

Answer: A music video

The six girls left ended up going to dance lessons with an instructor. Rather than a regular photo shoot, they ended up performing in a music video for Tyra Banks' single, "Shake Ya Body", and while some girls shined in this task, others fell flat on their faces (Yoanna literally fell).

The performance on the video was questionable for many but it was ultimately Sara who was let go from the competition; the judges felt she was only capable of playing a sexy stereotype, and the next top model needed to be adaptable.

Answer: Milan

After meeting at IMG Modelling, the girls met Tyra over lunch to discover (through a rap) that they would be heading to Milan for three weeks, the rest of the competition. They had an hour to get ready and fly out to Italy and, immediately upon their arrival, they had to go on five go-sees throughout the city.

After a real night's sleep, they ended up heading to Verona to participate in a high fashion shoot for Solstice Sunglasses. Ultimately, the judges thought that Camille's negative attitude would be too crippling to her career as a fashion model.

She was eliminated.

Answer: Shandi

Continuing in Milan, the final four girls were called to Lake Como for a sensual, nude photo shoot headed by Stephen Fairchild. The shoot was especially hard for Shandi who, a couple of nights before, cheated on her boyfriend with an Italian boy in the girls' Milan apartment.

Despite this, she was able to slide into the final three. It was April who was eliminated from the show this week for being too technical and or lacking during a challenge in front of the judging panel.

Answer: Yoanna

In the final weeks, the girls took their final shots, beauty shots, before heading to an audition to be in a DSquared2 fashion show. Ultimately, Shandi was cut before a final runway walk and the final judging panel had to vote between Yoanna and Mercedes.

The votes were tallied and Yoanna won the cycle. After this season of "America's Next Top Model", Yoanna became the spokesmodel for Sephora, had a spread in "Jane" magazine, and received her contract with IMG Models. She later appeared on several TV shows about fashion and appeared on the CW network upon its launch (at which point "America's Next Top Model" moved to that network).
