Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. During the first week of the competition, the girls moved into the Top Model House in which city?

Answer: Los Angeles

This season, thirteen girls were selected as finalists to become America's Next Top Model. Meeting at city hall in Beverly Hills, the girls were taken on a tour of celebrity homes before arriving at their own lodgings for the next few months-- a luxurious house in Los Angeles.
The girls started by walking in their first runway show for "Life & Style"; each of the girls needed to walk in a particular style. The proceeding shoot framed the girls as superheroes floating above the city streets.
Walking in first show at a club for 'Life & Style'. Half girls walk wrong way.
Ultimately, Sarah tripped several times on the runway, but was spared over Ashley who the judges simply thought was 'pretty' and nothing more.
2. Which girl quit the competition in week three over a short haircut?

Answer: Cassandra

Weeks two and three commenced the drama in the house. During the second week, the girls got their makeovers and proposed new styles from Jay Manuel before going on a shopping challenge in Beverly Hills to accentuate their personal styles. In the photo shoot, the girls went head-to-head in different clothing.

The next week, the girls had to perform in a runway challenge before posing for their shoot on a moving catwalk (like a treadmill) and in front of a green-screen. In week two, Ebony was eliminated and in week three, Sarah went home. Midway through week three, Cassandra quit the competition because she didn't think she needed to cut her hair short to become popular; the judges begged to differ.
3. In week four, who was the photographer for the girls' shoot (involving surgery taken to an extreme)?

Answer: Janice Dickinson

For their fourth week of the competition, the remaining nine girls spoke with Twiggy about masking flaws and accentuating their positive attributes. In their photo shoot, the girls met with former judge Janice Dickinson to take pictures of themselves posing in edgy surgery-themed shots. Each girl was matched up with an over-the-top procedure relating to cosmetic enhancements.

The only plus-sized model of the competition, Diane, was sent home for not matching up with the desire and personality of the other girls remaining.
4. In week five, the girls mentioned their 'darkest secrets' in a photo shoot and video for what type of product?

Answer: Deodorant

The girls were visited by Jay Manuel and famous model Iman to learn about all-natural beauty products before heading to a studio to speak to someone about a fictional beauty product-- the goal was for the girls to learn about interviews and acting on-camera, and each one had to pretend to promote a honey-banana refining mask. Kyle won the challenge and brought Nicole along; they were able to host the VH1 special "The Fabulous Life of Supermodels". The shoot this week was three-fold.

The girls had to do an on-camera testimonial/advertisement for Secret Platinum Clear Gel deodorant before hopping behind a photographer camera for a single shot ad then they had to have an interview with a rep from Entertainment Tonight. Nicole's photo was deemed the best in judging and she was told it would appear in a print ad nationwide after the cycle ended. Coryn was eliminated.
5. In week six, the girls had a go-see with "Elle" magazine reps. What were they covered in?

Answer: Mud

This week, the girls were sent on a physical fitness regimen at an obstacle course in a muddy field. After their drills here, they were instructed to head immediately to a go-see with "Elle" magazine representatives who would judge them on all aspects...and covered in mud. Lisa let her brightness shine through the dirt enough to win the challenge. The shoot for this week involved posing in front of a Ford Fusion car as a 1940s Vargas pin-up model.

The winner of the show would have their picture appear in national print ads. Kim was said to have the best picture this week (despite her typically butch image) while Kyle went home despite the fact that the other girls thought she was one of the strongest models.
6. The seventh week of the competition featured a photo shoot with the cast members of what TV show?

Answer: "WildBoyz"

In week seven, the final six girls met with former Top Model Eva Pigford (who won Cycle 3) and had a challenge in which they competed for a role on "Veronica Mars". Kim won the challenge by utilizing an entourage and showing her confidence. For the shoot, the girls had to perform while the cast of the MTV show "WildBoyz" acted out in the background.

After both Jayla and Nicole had a poor showing, the judges pulled a fake-out. Neither girl was eliminated this week and they would all be leaving the country.
7. What was the international destination for this season?

Answer: London

Before flying to London, the girls were taught about their public image and how they needed to approach being a top model while off-camera. After a quick passport photo shoot, the girls were sent abroad and ambushed by the paparazzi outside their hotel, the Savoy.

The proceeding shoot involved posing topless in a paparazzi-inspired shoot in a red telephone booth where everyone had to cram inside. During judging, all of these photos (including their worst paparazzi photos) were brought up. When all was said and done, the judges eliminated Lisa for her personality.
8. In their ninth week, the girls posed as classic works of art. Which was not among them?

Answer: Venus de Milo

For week nine, the five remaining girls learned how to utilize the powers of concentration in their photos. After posing as statues in a London park and getting attacked by pigeons in the process, the girls ended up meeting with Jay Manuel for an art-themed shoot done by famous photographer Barry Lategan.

The artworks recreated were "The Birth of Venus" (Kim), "The Vitruvian Man" (Nik), "The Girl with the Pearl Earring" (Nicole), "Mona Lisa" (Bre), and "Whistler's Mother" (Jayla). These were redone in a modern way to promote Olay Quench moisturizer.

At the judging ceremony, Kim went home for a lackluster photo this week.
9. During the Bollywood-inspired photo shoot in week ten, Jayla offered Bre which of the following for her headache?

Answer: Benadryl

In week ten, the girls visited Carnaby street to learn about four aspects of London fashion-- Preppy, Mod, Indian/Bollywood, and Punk. After this, the girls had four go-sees, each with a designer representing each specific image-- Ben Sherman (preppy), PPQ (mod), Ashley Isham (Indian/Bollywood), and Robert Cary-Williams (punk). Nik won and received one hundred frames for the next shoot, a Bollywood-inspired shot in a crowd. Nicole received eighty, Jayla received sixty, and Bre received fifty and was unable to look at herself in a mirror beforehand. During the shoot, Bre was offered a Benadryl for her headaches, but found that she kept getting drowsy.

This didn't matter though; Jayla was sent home.
10. Which girl won this fifth cycle of "America's Next Top Model"?

Answer: Nicole

The final three posed in photos and a commercial for Cover Girl Cosmetics before Bre was eliminated in third place. During the final runway show in London, it was Nicole who wowed the judges the most; Tyra later said that Nicole's potential for high fashion vaulted her into the lead. Nicole won a $100,000 contract with Cover Girl cosmetics as well as a contract with typical "ANTM" supporters Ford Models.

As well, she got a cover and spread in "Elle" magazine done by Gilles Bensimon and several print ads as shown throughout the course of the season.

After the show, Nicole continued to appear in fashion ads and runway shows worldwide for many famous designers.
