Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the beginning of the first week, the girls were sent to which international destination for a shoot?

Answer: Montego Bay

After a semifinalist elimination, the girls were culled to a final fourteen. While the semifinalist auditions were in Los Angeles, the girls were flown to New York, their main city for the season, and then promptly whisked off to Montego Bay, Jamaica in their first week.

The girls were brought to a luxurious beachfront for a bikini shoot and told that one of the girls would not move into the house in New York. When the shoot finished, it was Magdalena who went home. When the girls returned to New York they moved into the Waldorf-Astoria and took a tour of the city before standing in front of the judges for another elimination based on their bikini shots; this time, Leah was sent home.
2. In week three, Amanda revealed to the judges that she suffered from which of these?

Answer: Potential blindness

The girls received their makeovers in week two at the Peter Coppola Salon courtesy of Cover Girl cosmetics. For their challenge this week, the girls had to show what they learned from Jay Manuel about their make-up choices while driving in a limo for ten minutes. Norelle won the challenge and brought three other girls to an industry party for Anand Jon.

The girls had a beauty shot photo shoot and, during the judging ceremony, Julie was eliminated. In week three, the girls had a fashion show challenge with Heatherette and it was decided that Eva had the best walk-- she and two others had a yacht trip with Yoanna, the winner of cycle 2.

The shoot for week three was a topless group shot for Lee Jeans and, after deliberations, Kristi was eliminated.
3. During the fourth week, the girls completed their shoots for Dooney & Bourke wearing which of these?

Answer: Roller skates

The fourth week rolled around and the girls were sent to a challenge with Janice Dickinson where they learned how to pose; they had to pose as mannequins in a storefront window to win the prize, a lingerie shopping spree. During this week's shoot, the girls had to model purses by Dooney & Burke, but they had to do so wearing roller skates in front of the camera. Rolling in front of the judge's panel, this week's eliminated model was Jennipher as she was considered to have lost sight of the goal; Kelle wasn't too far behind-- the judges didn't like her recent works.
4. In week five, the girls were challenged with a race up how many storeys of stairs?

Answer: Fourteen

Tyra brought Kate Dillon to meet the nine remaining girls in their apartment in week five. It was then that Cassie discussed her eating disorder. For the next challenge, the girls had to run up fourteen flights of stairs to reach an impromptu photo shoot at the top.

The winner of the race, Yaya, received a spa day. A subsequent photo shoot was for an energy drink and the models needed to complete it while bouncing on a trampoline. This time, after narrowly avoiding elimination in the previous week, Kelle was sent home because she couldn't take good shots.
5. During their sixth week of photo shoots, the eight remaining girls tapped into their alter egos. Which was not one of them?

Answer: Wonder Woman

This week, the girls went on their first go-sees in New York City, stopping to visit with some of the best-known designers in the area. Yaya proved to be the best candidate, partially because many of the girls were late for one of the shoots. For the shoot this week the girls needed to advertize Ford Mustangs, but to do this they ended up needing to dress up in alter ego outfits to sell the product and exhibit fashion sense.

After the shoot, the girls met with the judges and Cassie was eliminated for her reluctance to get help for her possible eating disorder and emotional issues and for a series of poor shots.
6. In week seven, the girls advertized diamonds in a photo with which of these live creatures?

Answer: Tarantula

During this seventh week of the competition, the girls were told to select fashionable outfits at a clothing store and then they were taken to a mystery red carpet for their challenge. Yaya ended up winning for her well-completed, spur-of-the-moment interview. For their shoot, the girls needed to model luxurious diamonds by Verragio while getting their photos taken with a live tarantula.

Despite strong showings in previous weeks, the cycle's only plus-sized model, Toccara, went home this week leaving only five girls in the competition.
7. In the eighth week of the show, the girls flew to their major international locale for the cycle. Where was it?

Answer: Tokyo

Before the final six girls flew to Tokyo, Japan for their final weeks, they met with actor Taye Diggs in New York City for acting lessons. This led into the girls' next task in Tokyo-- they needed to advertize soup in a Japanese commercial (including speaking Japanese). During the judging session in Japan, the girls were required to show off their acting skills once again for the panel.

Here, the judges (including the director of the commercial and, previously, Taye Diggs) noted Nicole's tendency to go unnoticed; she was eliminated on that basis.
8. During their ninth week of shoots, the girls dressed up in traditional clothing to advertize what electronic device?

Answer: T-Mobile Sidekick

Spending more time exploring Japan, the girls were told that their next challenge would regard Japanese customs and a tea ceremony. Yaya won the challenge (once again). For their photo shoot (featuring famed photographer Amiko), the girls needed to dress as geishas to promote the T-Mobile Sidekick, much like the one they received at the beginning of the cycle.

At the same time, Tyra posed alongside the girls in a shoot. Norelle was eliminated during the judging ceremony while Ann was retained, mostly due to the judges' continued feeling that she had more potential.
9. In week ten of the competition, which girl was late for her go-see during the reward challenge?

Answer: Yaya

This week, the goal was to emulate Tokyo street fashion and to create a style inspired by the Baby Doll Lolita look. For the challenge, they needed to buy clothes with 20,000 yen by shopping at four distinct stores. They had three hours before they had to arrive at a Milk showroom with their looks. Yaya was only moments late for challenge and was asked to leave. Eva won (and brought Ann) to meet with Toyohito Mikimoto and try on pearls. For their shoot, the girls headed to a photo shoot demonstrating a specific Tokyo street style--harajuku anime girls on motorbikes. During the elimination, Ann was eliminated as the judges felt she had no inspiration and no spark for the camera.
10. Which girl won the title of 'America's Next Top Model' in cycle 3?

Answer: Eva Pigford

The final three attempted to pose for a new Cover Girl lip gloss with lasting crystal shine before taking a go-see with Noriko Fukushima. After this, the field was cut to two when Amanda was eliminated before the final runway show. Eva and Yaya battled it out on a zen-inspired Fukushima show before returning to the judging panel one last time. Eva was ultimately crowned the next top model. Eva won a contract with Ford Models was well as with Cover Girl for a new ad campaign (and $100,000 that went with it).

She also received a spread with "Elle Magazine". In the years after the show, Eva also got involved with acting; she starred on "The Young and the Restless" for one year.
