Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who is the only remaining member of The Cartel to want to kill Gus?

Answer: Hector Salamanca

Shortly after the shoot-out with Lalo, Gus is summoned to Don Eladio's home. He drives across the Mexican border and arrives late that night. Everyone is gathered around the swimming pool. Including Hector and the Salamanca Twins - who are glaring at him. Eladio informs Gus the Salamancas have made a very serious accusation against him. Hector (naturally dictating letter by letter to his nephews) tells them about Lalo faking his own death, telephoning Hector to let him know, going to Gus' house that night to kill him, and never being heard from again.
So the Salamancas demanded blood for blood!
When asked for a response, Gus says sadly "With all due respect, I don't believe this merits a response."
He is trying to convince the Cartel's top brass that Hector has gone insane. Luckily they fall for it. Except for Hector, who angrily rings his bell again and again.
Eladio does not believe Hector's claim for a second. For one thing, the Mexican authorities confirmed one of the dead bodies was Lalo's. So Hector must have imagined those phone-calls. The twins agree with that conclusion. So Hector has no support, and Gus is safe. The nephews carry Hector's wheelchair away because he won't stop ringing his bell. Five years later, despite being virtually immobile, Hector gets his revenge.
2. What are Saul and Francesca doing at the beginning of this episode?

Answer: Watching their new sign being erected

Today should have been a happy day for Jimmy/Saul and Kim. They've got roughly a million and a half coming their way, Saul's business is booming, and a client's family is hugging Kim outside the courtroom.
But back at their apartment, Mike and co are removing all traces of Howard's murder. They're professionals. So when the lawyers get home, there is no sign anything ever happened. That pleases Saul.
But not Kim...
3. What happens at Gus' wine-tasting that makes him leave early?

Answer: The red wine reminds him of the bloodshed

Gus is trying to relax. All his enemies are now either dead, stuck in a wheelchair, or convinced he's done nothing wrong. So he goes to a posh wine-bar he has not frequented in some time to celebrate. The manager recognises him and comes over to speak. The two men discuss a new blood-coloured red wine. The manager lets Gus try some.
When the manager comments on the "...~almost~ bloody flavour...", Gus stops smiling. The manager goes to fetch another bottle, and Gus finishes his drink. But he does not enjoy it, and quickly leaves.
4. This is the only episode Kim and Saul say "I love you." to one another.

Answer: True

Unfortunately, it doesn't do either of them any good. In Season 4, we watched several months go by in one episode, to the tune of "Something Stupid". Its chorus is appropriate here: "I go and spoil it all by saying something stupid like 'I love you'."
5. Gus orders Mike to start searching for a new what?

Answer: Engineer

In "Breaking Bad", at the beginning of 2009, the Superlab is finally complete and ready for meth-cooking. We never learn why it took the gangsters four years to find another engineer and crew. As Gus shows Walter White around the secret underground installation, he merely remarks "Quite a lot of planning went into this."
Of course he doesn't mention Howard and Lalo's bodies buried under the linoleum...
6. Who does Mike unexpectedly visit that night?

Answer: Nacho's father

Mike is trying to relax. All the past year's drama is over. But he gets something from the secret hiding-place under his closet, and spots an item he'd forgotten about. The phoney Canadian ID Nacho had made for his father Manuel. Mike sighs sadly. He knows what it's like to lose a son.
So he visits the worried old man in his workshop that night. Varga senior actually recognises Mike from his brief meeting two years ago. The mysterious visitor confirms his worst fears about his son: "He won't be found."
Mike tries to placate the devastated father. "One more thing. You won't have to worry about The Salamancas. Their day is coming. There'll be justice!"
But Varga senior cannot agree. "What you talk about is not justice. What you talk of is...REVENGE. It never ends."
Before walking away in disgust, he adds "The standards of the Cartel. Your 'justice'. It's all one and the same."
The grieving man's words hit Mike hard.
7. Which of the following attorneys do NOT feature in this episode?

Answer: Chuck McGill

Nor does Howard Hamlin. He is missing, presumed drowned. A wake for the poor man is held in his building's spacious reception area. As they did a year ago, when Charles McGill killed himself.
Lots of people turn up. But no one says out loud what they are all thinking: "TWO name partners taking their own lives??? Unbelievable!"
Rich Schweikart informs Kim and Saul that HHM won't exist for much longer. It's changing its name, downsizing, and moving to a different building. He adds sadly "End of an era."
He doesn't notice the way Kim and Saul look at one another. In accordance with Mike's orders, they've lied to the police. The police found Howard's car by the beach, started asking questions, and Kim and Saul came forward. They said Howard came to their apartment late that night, drunk and angry. Then he left and they never saw him again.
8. Kim's story about witnessing Howard snorting cocaine years ago is true.

Answer: False

On the spur of the moment, Kim concocts a story. Howard's widow Cheryl is talking with Cliff Main, a supportive friend to everyone. The Hamlins' marriage had not been a happy one for a long time. But Cheryl is missing him terribly, and cannot understand how this could have happened! Then Jimmy and Kim walk over to pay their respects.
Cheryl has been wanting to speak to them; they were the last to see Howard. She's heard the rumours flying around about his cocaine habit. Howard, of course, had never touched cocaine in his life. Cliff does not have the heart to tell her.
Then Kim has a brainwave. She tells everyone when she still worked in this building years ago, she came across Howard in his office late one night. He looked up from his desk, as if he'd been "snorting something".
Kim lies so convincingly that Cheryl bursts into tears and runs into the Ladies Room. Cliff kindly goes to look for her sister.
The two liars leave.
9. What major decision(s) does Kim make at the end of this episode?

Answer: Both of these

In court, Kim submits a petition at the last minute to withdraw from the case. The judge politely asks why, and Kim can't bring herself to say it. She finally admits "I am no longer an attorney."
The judge is speechless.
But that's nothing compared to Jimmy/Saul's reaction that night. He hurries home and exclaims "You did WHAT?!?!"
But his reaction is worse when he sees his wife's belongings all packed up. Kim is frank. She confesses Mike had warned her weeks ago Lalo was still alive. Why didn't she tell Jimmy? Because she was sure he'd cancel their plans against Howard. Kim sobs remorsefully "I was having too much...fun!"
Saul begs her not to leave. But it's no use. Kim sobs "People SUFFER because of us!"
10. At the end of this episode, who does Saul wake up with?

Answer: An escort

We find him in the same mansion the authorities confiscated at the start of Season 6. In an expensive bed...with an expensive escort. Jimmy McGill has now turned 100% into Saul Goodman. The selfish, corrupt, uncaring, hedonistic, Criminal Lawyer from "Breaking Bad". "Criminal" with a small C and a large C.

He no longer has a moralising wife to prevent from him being what he wants to be. So he's got everything he ever wanted. Money, a busy law practice, you name it. His alarm-radio wakes him to Journey's "Any way you want it, that's the way you need it!" (Some speculate he programmed the alarm to play those particular lyrics.)
