Answer: Civic Republic Military

The Civic Republic Military, or CRM, grew out of the Pennsylvania National Guard toward the start of the apocalypse. Initially introduced in Season 8 of "The Walking Dead", when one of its helicopters rescues Rick after the bridge explosion, the CRM also features in seasons 5-7 of "Fear the Walking Dead" and in "The Walking Dead" spin-off "The World Beyond".

Lt. Colonel Donald Okafor, played by Craig Tate, trains both Pearl Thorne and Rick Grimes, who become friends of a sort in the CRM. Okafor tells Rick he is trying to change the CRM from the inside. Beale, the Major General of the CRM, is played by Terry O'Quinn, who is well known for his role as John Locke in the television series "Lost".

In her quest to find Rick, Michonne temporarily joins a small group of nomads, which includes Nat. When the group is attacked by the CRM with poison gas, only Nat and Michonne survive. They spend a year recovering. By the time Michonne finds Rick, he has been gone from Alexandria for ten years.

Nat, played by Matthew Jeffers, uses a shoulder-mounted launcher to send his "screamsticks" at the low-flying helicopter. Michonne has no idea Rick is onboard until she examines the wreckage. She goes from soldier to solider and removes their helmets to kill them, only to discover her long lost husband among them.

Jadis, also known as Anne, was the one who called in the CRM to rescue Rick. She had secretly been trading people to the CRM in exchange for supplies when she was the head of the Scavengers, a villain group that sided with Negan only to be betrayed and eradicated by Negan's right-hand man Simon. Jadis is played by actress Pollyana McIntosh.

Answer: Father Gabriel

Father Gabriel secretly meets with Jadis annually and tries to convince her to return to the group in Alexandria. He is unaware that she knows of Rick's whereabouts. After Jadis is killed by Rick and Michonne, Father Gabriel waits for their annual meeting in vain.

Rick proposes to Michonne using a ring that Gabriel gave him. He also learns that he has a son named RJ, which stands for Rick Junior, but as Michonne tells him, "nobody has ever called him junior." According to the insider's look after the episode aired, the proposal scene was the idea of Dania Gurira, who plays the role of Michonne.

It was Shane who shot Otis to slow down the herd, not Rick. When asked this question by Beale, Rick does recall (in his head, in a flashback scene) shooting Shane. He also recalls driving a machete into Thomas's head. But he answers the question by recalling the gruesome time he saved his son from the Claimers by using his teeth to rip out the throat of an attacker.

Rick, recalling Carl's death in a flashback scene, answers his son. (Later he also alludes to losing himself.) Beale points out that, despite all the horrible things Rick did to survive, he could not save his son in the end, and Beale offers Rick this temptation: if Rick goes along with the CRM's ghastly plan, he can bring anyone he loves into the safety of the Civic Republic.

Answer: The Echelon Briefing

Okafor tells Rick that when he moves up the ranks, he'll "receive the Echelon Briefing [...] That's when you get all the info, the whys, the things ninety percent of our force doesn't know about, and one hundred percent of our city doesn't."

An elite group of CRM soldiers has received the Echelon Briefing and knows what the higher ranks of the CRM is really up to. The Echelon Briefing, Jadis told Rick, would open his eyes "to the true size and scope of what the CRM is gonna do to bring this world back."
