Wiig was a "Saturday Night Live" comedienne (2005-2012), whose "SNL" roles included Penelope the attention-seeker and Gilly, the very mischievous schoolgirl. Wiig, on "SNL", also played real-life people such as financial counselor, Suze Orman, Elisabeth Hasselbeck of "The View" and former Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi. Rudolph, another Groundling and "SNL" comedienne (2005-2007) is known for her roles as attorney Glenda Goodwin, and Megan from the "Wake Up, Wakefield!" sketches. Rudolph and Wiig performed together for two years on "SNL". The ladies performed in the film "MacGruber" together, as well. Rudolph is the daughter of 1970's songwriter-singer Minnie Riperton, whose song "Loving You" was recorded while Maya was in the studio.

This was not only Dixie Leigh's first visit to the little town, but also the first time she was introduced to her father, Bo Price. Bo was a down-and-out musician who had spent the last 16 years regretting that he had abandoned Angel, while she was pregnant with Dixie Leigh.

The Elvis in this movie is an old man spending his latter days in a rest home in Texas. Since everyone believes Elvis is dead, no one actually believes him when he says he is Elvis. They only look at him as a senile, confused individual who thinks he is Elvis. The world has moved on without him, leaving him old, washed up, and not worth attention. Everything he does is either worthless or sadly amusing in the eyes of the young. Furthering this indignity, he also has a potentially cancerous growth in a tender area. Although Elvis is the main character in this movie, none of Elvis' music is actually heard during the movie. This was due to the expensive licensing costs which would have driven the movie well over budget.

Furthman, Jessel and Garmes were the team behind "Nightmare Alley" (1947, same year as "Brute Force"), Felton, Rubin and Diskant worked on "The Narrow Margin" (1952, and starring Charles McGraw, who had a small role in "Brute Force" as a con named Andy!), and Bodeen, Lewton and Musuraca created many of the famed B-horror films at RKO, such as "Cat People" and "I Walked With A Zombie". Brooks was best known as a writer-director and "Brute Force" was an early script of his; he made his directorial debut with 1950's "Crisis" and went on to lens "Blackboard Jungle", "In Cold Blood" and "Elmer Gantry" from Sinclair Lewis' novel, which won Lancaster a Best Actor Oscar. (Brooks later wed "Gantry" star Jean Simmons.) Ex-journalist Hellinger made his mark (no pun intended!) producing 1946's "The Killers", which was Lancaster's screen debut. He'd go on to produce and narrate "The Naked City" the year after "Brute Force". Sadly, it would be his last film; he died of a heart attack soon after the film's release. William Daniels was Garbo's favorite cinematographer, lensing her in such films as "Anna Karenina" and "Anna Christie", her first talkie. In "Brute Force" he did an about-face, capturing the gritty reality of prison life. For "Naked City" he won the Oscar.

The Second World War was a particularly creative period for him, with 'Blithe Spirit', 'This Happy Breed', 'Present Laughter' and 'In Which We Serve' all produced during the war years.
