After Vorenus found out Lucius wasn't his son and caused Niobe to commit suicide as a result, he cursed his children to Hades and left. While he was gone, Fulmen came by and collected them along with Niobe's sister Lyde. Fulmen told Vorenus that he "raped them", killed them and threw them in the river. Actually, he sold them into slavery.

Octavian the came into the room and Cleopatra had time to tell him what she really thought of him. One of these thoughts was that Octavian's soul was rotten.

Octavian knew that Vorenus was still with Mark Antony. As Pullo was best friends with Vorenus, Octavian decided to bring Pullo along to try and negotiate with Mark Antony. Vorenus and Mark Antony did not accompany Octavian - they were in Egypt already when Octavian arrived.

When Vorenus found out that Memmio disobeyed him, Vorenus asked Pullo to show Memmio the same disrespect he'd shown Vorenus. Pullo thought that would start a gang war and still wouldn't bring back Niobe, the children, or Caesar.

She believed that if they stayed and made a baby, it would be a monster. Vorenus was upset because he believed he caused Caesar and Niobe's deaths.

However, Niobe leaped off the balcony and fell onto the ground below.

Caesar's daughter dies in childbirth in the opening scene of "Rome", leaving Pompey a widower. Eager to keep good relations intact, Caesar tries to find Pompey another wife and Caesar's niece, Atia, offers her daughter, Octavia, to him. Octavia is less than thrilled with this arrangement since she is in love with another man. Pompey eventually realizes that his marrying a relative of Caesar would be politically beneficial only to Caesar, so Pompey chooses another wife not of relation to Caesar or Atia.

Atia is whipping Castor, her head slave, not because of anything that he has done, but out of frustration with the situation with Caesar. Eleni is Servilia's body slave and Merula is Atia's body slave.

Calpurnia was Caesar's wife. Servilia was Caesar's lover. Although she was put under Mark Antony's 'protection' after Brutus fled the city, there was never any suggestion that she and he were lovers. Atia was Caesar's niece and Antony's lover. Although she encouraged her son, Octavian, to become Caesar's lover, she never was Caesar's lover.

After Cleopatra dies, Pullo looks through some articles left near Mark Antony's body. One of these articles was a drawing of Niobe in a case. Pullo then realizes what Vorenus had done and went off in search of Vorenus and Caesarion.

Mark Antony offered to leave all politics, but Octavian flat-out refused the offer and again proposed the previous terms. Mark Antony was insulted and then offered a duel between Mark Antony and Octavian - man to man. Mark Antony believed Octavian couldn't refuse (or else he'd be labeled a coward), but Octavian did refuse, perhaps because Octavian's messenger let Octavian know that Mark Antony was not lucid.

Posca was Caesar's slave. Posca was given his freedom in Caesar's will. Posca then worked for Antony. While working for Antony, Posca showed that he would do things such as accept bribes to get more money. In addition, when Antony took a 'gift' from Herod and didn't tell Octavian, Posca sent word to Octavian that Antony had lied. Posca did go with Antony to Egypt and returned on the ship carrying Atia and Octavia.

Octavia's friend Jocasta was getting Octavia to smoke some hemp. Apparently the Macedonia hemp was better. Jocasta was a tradesman's daughter, but Atia claimed it was all right as long as Octavia didn't bring in actors or the such. Octavia told Jocasta that Atia had been in a funk since Octavian left.

Atia was jealous because she didn't want Antony making love to women who were higher (in society) than herself. Antony claimed it was because Cleopatra was younger than Atia. Atia said she didn't mind Antony's whores, but Cleopatra did make her jealous.

At first, Atia didn't know if Mark Antony was alive or dead. Atia's first instinct was to assume the worst and leave the city, for their own protection. Antony came to the house after running for his life (he was unarmed and men were attempting to kill him). He told Atia he will go North and raise an army to avenge Caesar's death. He added that Atia may do as she pleases. Atia took offense to this and accused him of arranging for his prostitutes' safety before her. Antony attempted to calm her, telling her he didn't mean it that way - he meant that he couldn't force her to do anything. Atia decided her family will go with Antony. Antony decided they will stop and get Calpurnia, Caesar's wife, because it would look bad if they left her in the city.

Jocasta, whose family was killed under Atia's command, is arranged to marry Posca and Octavia marries Mark Anthony. Jocasta is now penniless and orphaned and has little choice but to follow through with the arrangement made by Atia. She sobs while preparing for the ceremony and has a general look of shock during it. Octavia's marriage to Mark Antony is arranged by her brother, Octavian Caesar. She has a better chance of producing a child than Atia, even though Atia and Mark Antony have been lovers for years. A marriage between the families will also show the public that they are united. Octavia looks despondent throughout the ceremony as her lover, Agrippa, watches her wed Mark Antony.

Answer: Atia interfered with Servillia's affair with Caesar

In episode five, "The Ram Has Touched The Wall", Atia thinks that her son, Octavian, has become lovers with Caesar. She also knows that Caesar has been carrying on a long-time affair with Servillia of the Junii and deeply loves her. Because Atia doesn't want to risk her son's status in Caesar's eyes, she launches a smear campaign around Rome with obscene graffiti depicting Caesar and Servillia together. Caesar's wife becomes enraged when she sees this graffiti and demands Caesar stop seeing Servillia. When Caesar meets with Servillia to end their relationship, things get heated and Caesar strikes her. Servillia is both ashamed and angry and puts a curse on Atia and Caesar.

Jocasta is Octavia's new friend, the daughter of a rich businessman. Atia does not approve of the friendship, and she is not happy that her daughter is smoking hemp in the house, as it makes the whole place smell. She does, however, smoke some hemp with them, while conversing with Jocasta about Macedonia.
