1. Sherlock Holmes

Answer: Dr. Watson

British author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (1859-1930) created the fictional detective Sherlock Holmes. The narration in most of the novels and short stories about Sherlock Holmes is by his good friend and colleague, Dr.Watson. Watson accompanies Holmes on many of his investigations.
2. Peter Pan

Answer: Tinker Bell

J.M. Barrie (1860-1937) created Peter Pan as the free spirited young boy who refused to grow up. Although Wendy played a big role in the series it is Tinker Bell who follows Peter Pan on many of his exploits but also acts as his protector.
3. Andy Taylor

Answer: Barney Fife

"The Andy Griffith Show" (1960-1968) featured Andy Griffith as Sheriff Andy Taylor and his clumsy, but well-meaning Deputy Barney Fife, played by Don Knotts.
4. Jack Regan

Answer: George Carter

"The Sweeney" (1975-1978) was a 50 minute British TV police drama series about the Flying Squad who tackled robberies and violent crime in London. The show focused mainly on two characters, Detective Inspector Jack Regan (John Thaw) and his partner Detective Sergeant George Carter ( Dennis Waterman). The show was so popularly that it was adapted to the big screen in two feature films.
5. Fred Flintstone

"The Flintstones" (1960-1966) was an animated series set in the Stone Age and centred around two families, the Flintstones and the Rubbles. The two main characters were Fred Flintstone and his best friend and neighbor Barney Rubble.The show and characters were based on the early popular TV series "The Honeymooners".
6. Lucy Ricardo

The "I Love Lucy" TV series is one of the most popular shows seen on television. The show starred Lucille Ball as Lucy Ricardo and together with best her friend and neighbor Ethel Metz (Vivian Vance). Together they got into some hilarious predicaments.
7. Theo Kojak

"Kojak" was an American police drama series which aired on TV from 1973-1978. The main character from the New York City Police Department was Detective Lieutenant Theo Kojak (Telly Savalas). His trusted sidekick was Detective Bobby Crocker (Kevin Dobson). Both characters appeared together in 117 episodes of the 118 in the series.
8. Johnny Carson

Answer: Ed McMahon

Ed McMahon (1923-2009) was the sidekick of Johnny Carson (1925-2005) on the "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson" for 30 years from 1962-1992.
9. Matt Dillon

Answer: Chester Goode

The limping Chester Goode (Dennis Weaver) was the friend and trusted partner of Marshall Matt Dillon (James Arness) in the western TV series "Gunsmoke". Chester Goode appeared in 290 episodes of the series (1955-1964) before Dennis Weaver left the show. "Doc" Adams (Milburn Stone) appeared in the same series from 1955-1975.
10. Ralph Kramden

Answer: Ed Norton

"The Honeymooners" TV series only lasted for two seasons (1955-56) and 39 episodes but still remains a classic of TV. It was one of the first TV series to portray working class families. Ralph Kramden (Jackie Gleason) was a bus driver and his best friend and neighbour was Ed Norton (Art Carney), a sewerage worker.

As mentioned earlier, this show, characters and situations was the inspiration for "The Flintstones".
