Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The members of the Hart Foundation are actually related as Jim Neidhart is the real life brother in law to Bret Hart. Which of Bret's sisters did Neidhart marry?

Answer: Ellie Hart

In addition to being a world class wrestler and trainer the legendary Stu Hart was the patriarch of a family which consisted of twelve children. While competing for Stu in his Stampede promotion Jim Neidhart married Ellie the eldest daughter and the sixth child of Stu and wife Helen.

In addition the late Davey Boy Smith married Hart daughter Diana and his longtime partner The Dynamite Kid was wed to the sister of Bret Hart's first wife Julie. Talk about keeping it in the family!
2. On July 13, 1985, The Hart Foundation and The British Bulldogs clashed for the very first time in New York's Madison Square Garden. How did this match end?

Answer: The Match was stopped due to Curfew

One of the greatest tag team rivalries the sport has ever seen was the one between The British Bulldogs and The Hart Foundation. The fact that the four men knew each other very well made for good chemistry and they also legitimately like to rough house each other. On July 13, 1985, the first meeting of these fantastic duos was stopped because the card went to the curfew.

At that time in Madison Square Garden there was a curfew of 11:00 PM by which all matches had to be completed or the card was stopped.

This is what happened unfortunately in the very first meeting between these two teams in MSG.
3. At "Wrestlemania II" on April 7, 1986 ,The Hart Foundation participated in the twenty man "Battle Royal" in the Chicago segment of the show. The last four men to remain were the Harts, Andre the Giant and what NFL Star?

Answer: Russ Francis

One of the featured events on the "Wrestlemania II" card was a twenty man "Battle Royal" which also featured current and retired NFL stars as well as wrestlers of the WWF. In the end the action boiled down to The Hart Foundation, Andre the Giant and NFL star Russ Francis. Hart and Neidhart managed to eliminate Francis before both being ousted by Andre.

The son of a wrestling promoter, Edward Francis, Russ had a thirteen year NFL career in which he played for both The New England Patriots and The San Francisco 49ers, winning a "Superbowl" with the latter.

After his gridiron days ended in 1987 he briefly pursued a wrestling career with the AWA.
4. The March 14, 1987 segment of "Saturday Nights Main Event" saw The Hart Foundation, now the WWF Tag Team Champions, defend their titles. Their opponents were the fiery veteran Tito Santana and who?

Answer: Danny Spivey

In January 1987, with the assistance of heel referee, Danny Davis, The Hart Foundation defeated The British Bulldogs to win the WWF Tag Team Titles for the first time. On the March 14, 1987 segment of "Saturday Nights Main Event" Hart and "The Anvil" successfully defended their belts against Danny Spivey and Tito Santana. Spivey had been left without a partner when Mike Rotundo left the WWF in early 1987 and quickly became lost in the shuffle. Even a heel turn in the fall of 1987 did not do much and he left for the NWA in 1988. Ironically Santana formed a duo with Rick Martel called "Strike Force" that unseated The Harts in the fall of 1987.
5. What team defeated The Hart Foundation in a non title match on the June 20, 1987 broadcast of "WWF Superstars"?

Answer: The Killer Bees

The duo of B Brian Blair and Jim Brunzell aka The Killer Bees managed to defeat The Hart Foundation on the June 20, 1987 telecast of "WWF Superstars". The Bees pulled off the victory by using their "Masked Confusion" gimmick where they would use masks to confuse the referee and the opponents.

Many thought that this would be the springboard that would eventually lead to Blair and Brunzell winning the belts. This did not happen and both Blair and Brunzell grew bitter about being over with the fans and never given a run as champions.
6. The November 28, 1987 segment of "Saturday Nights Main Event" saw Bret Hart compete in singles competition. Who did he face on that night?

Answer: Randy Savage

The November 28, 1987 airing of "Saturday Nights Main Event" saw one of the greatest matches to ever take place on that show as the late Randy Savage fought Bret Hart. Just two months prior on the very same program Savage had been jumped by The Hart Foundation and their stablemate the then WWF Intercontinental Champion, The Honky Tonk Man.

After brutally shoving Elizabeth to the mat, Honky busted his guitar over Savage's head as he was held by the Harts. Elizabeth then reemerged from the dressing room with WWF Heavyweight Champion Hulk Hogan and this was the night that "The Mega Powers" were born.
7. On January 15, 1989 at "The Royal Rumble" The Hart Foundation partnered with Hacksaw Jim Duggan in a "Three Falls, Six Man Tag Team Match". Who were their opponents?

Answer: Dino Bravo and The Rougeau Brothers

On January 15, 1989 at "The Royal Rumble", The Hart Foundation joined forces with Hacksaw Jim Duggan to battle The Rougeau Brothers and Dino Bravo. This was a mixing of two feuds as the fiercely patriotic Duggan had been at war with the "Anti American" Dino Bravo and his obnoxious manager Frenchy Martin.

The Harts had turned face in the spring of 1988 and severed ways with longtime manager Jimmy Hart. With egg on his face Hart immediately allied himself with the newly turned heel team of Raymond and Jacques Rougeau. Duggan and The Hart Foundation triumphed when Hacksaw, unbeknownst to the referee, leveled Bravo with his 2x4 allowing Hart to get the pin in the third and final fall.
8. At the 1989 "Survivor Series" Bret Hart and Jim Niedhart actually wrestled on different four man teams. Neidhart joined The Ultimate Warrior to face "The Heenan Family" while Bret Hart once again teamed with Hacksaw Jim Duggan against Randy Savage's "King's Court". Which elimination is correct?

Answer: Randy Savage pinned Bret Hart

The 1989 "Survivor Series" on November 23, 1989 saw Bret Hart and Jim Neidhart compete in different matches for the first time in the events three year history. Unfortunately neither man fared too well as Neidhart was pinned by Haku, although team Captian The Ultimate Warrior eventually won the match. Bret Hart was pinned by the late Randy Savage, now "The Macho King" in his match.

In fact Hacksaw's team did not fare well at all as Savage, Dino Bravo and a newcomer called Earthquake survived the match. Duggan along with Hart, Hercules Hernandez and Ron Garvin only succeeded in eliminating the veteran Greg Valentine.
9. After winning the WWF Tag Team Titles for the second time in the summer of 1990, Jim Neidhart decided to get more fashionable. While "The Hitman" always had his trademark shades, what did "The Anvil" begin to wear?

Answer: A pink beret

At "Summerslam '90" on August 27, 1990 The Hart Foundation defeated Demolition to win the WWF Tag Team Titles for the second time, becoming one of only a few duos to hold the titles as both a heels and faces. To spruce up their image Hart and Neidhart began to wear pink and black suede jackets.

In addition while Bret always sported his trademark sunglasses, "The Anvil" began waring a pink beret.
10. On July 1, 1991, The Hart Foundation wrestled their last match as a duo in Madison Square Garden. Who did they face on that night?

Answer: The Nasty Boys

On March 24, 1991 Hart and Neidhart lost the WWF Tag Team Titles to The Nasty Boys at "Wrestlemania VII". Immediately afterward Bret Hart embarked on a long promised singles push which eventually saw him win the WWF Intercontinental Title later that year. Neidhart briefly employed a "hip hop/rapper" persona before joining Owen Hart as a short lived team in late 1991. Unfortunately the breakup of the Harts left the once red hot tag team division badly depleted. On July 1, 1991, Hart and Neidhart joined forces to face The Nasty Boys and were disqualified when Bret Hart hit both Knobbs and Saggs with a motorcycle helmet.
