After the bomb, Kazuo immobilised Shinji with a fourth burst, then after Shinji thought about his sister and his friends, Kazuo finished him off with one final burst. Shinji knows he has at least 10 bullets in him before he even gets into the building, and he knows it is a miracle he survives as long as he did.
