Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Several people arrive to safely escort Harry from Privet Drive, including Bill Weasley. At some point before arriving, Bill had an altercation that left several deep, unhealing gashes on his face. What happened to Bill Weasley's face?

Answer: He was attacked by Fenrir Greyback.

After members of the Order of the Phoenix arrive at the Dursley house to safely move Harry Potter to the Burrow, Bill Weasley proudly displays his facial scars. He informs everyone that his scars are the results of an earlier battle with Fenrir Greyback. Greyback is a werewolf, a snatcher and a lower-level Death Eater.
2. As the seven Potters prepare to leave Privet Drive, each Harry Potter look-alike has a protector. Which childlike character is proud to be the protector of the real Harry Potter?

Answer: Rubeus Hagrid

Rubeus Hagrid helped to safely deliver Harry Potter to the Dursley house after Voldemort attacked Harry and killed his parents. With great pride and a strong sense of honor, Hagrid feels it is his duty to protect the real Harry Potter by escorting him to the safe house.
3. Harry is approached by Luna Lovegood as he enters the wedding tent in the movie. Which bizarre wizard, who dresses like a 1970s hippie, is Luna dancing with before the two stop to talk to Harry Potter?

Answer: Xenophilius Lovegood

When Harry enters the tent, Luna Lovegood is dancing with her eccentric father, Xenophilius. Luna and her father momentarily stop dancing to greet Harry. Sensing that Harry is not really interested in talking to them, Luna encourages her father to leave Harry in peace, saying Harry is simply too "polite" to tell them he wishes to be left alone.
4. While looking for the Slytherin locket horcrux, which Ministry of Magic official does Harry Potter become when he takes the Polyjuice Potion?

Answer: Albert Runcorn

Although Harry masquerades as Albert Runcorn for protection, he is still somewhat cautious about being discovered. His wild-eyed facial expressions and awkward ape-like movements add great humour to the scenes. As Runcorn, Harry is able to search Umbridge's office for the Slytherin locket.

While Harry does not find the locket, he does find a folder with picture dossiers of various witches and wizards who in some way pose a threat to the plans of the Dark Forces. Not only is there a file with Hermione's picture, but there is also a file for Albus Dumbledore with an "X" across Dumbldedore's photograph. Upon seeing this, Harry sheds a private tear.
5. After procurring the Slytherin locket horcrux, who once again uses the Patronus charm to prevent the Dementors from devouring the souls of everyone in the elevator?

Answer: Harry Potter

Harry Potter's past experiences with the Dementors prove to be quite useful as he faces them once again in the Ministry of Magic. Harry is able to stop the Dementors' attack while in the elevator at the Ministry of Magic by using the Expecto Patronum charm. This ultimately allows them to escape.
6. Which red-haired Gryffindor student pulls the sword from the icy lake?

Answer: Ronald Weasley

Harry Potter follows a silvery doe Patronus to the lake and eventually sees the Sword of Gryffindor beneath the ice. He breaks the ice and gets into the water in his underwear. As he reaches for the sword, the necklace pulls him in the opposite direction, choking him. Luckily for Harry, Ronald Weasley arrives and manages to pull the Sword of Gryffindor, the Slytherin locket and Harry from the iced over lake.
7. The Elder Wand, the Philosopher's Stone and the Invisibility Cloak make up the Deathly Hallows. True or False?

Answer: False

The Deathly Hallows include Antioch Peverell's Elder Wand, Cadmus Peverell's Resurrection Stone and Ignotus Peverell's Invisibility Cloak. As Hermione shares the animated 'Tale of the Three Brothers', it is made clear what each gift from Death can do. The Elder Wand is the most powerful and deadly of all wands, the Resurrection Stone can bring the dead back to life and the Invisibility Cloak has the power to conceal whatever is beneath it.

The Philopsopher's Stone (or Sorcerer's Stone) is NOT one of the Deathly Hallows. According to the first movie and book, it was created by Nicolas Flamel (a real-life French scientist). The Philosopher's Stone can turn objects into gold and give eternal life.
8. What bedtime storybook is the source of the "The Tale of the Three Brothers"?

Answer: The Tales of Beedle the Bard

Hermione inherits "The Tales of Beedle the Bard" after Dumbledore dies. The book is significant because it contains 'The Tale of the Three Brothers' which uncovers the mystery of the Deathly Hallows. Xenophilius Lovegood confirms this story to be more than legend. Harry eventually realizes that the Elder Wand is what Lord Voldemort is after as a result of his mind being connected to Voldemort's through his dreams and visions.
9. From his prison cell, who tells Voldemort where to locate the Elder Wand before Voldemort kills him?

Answer: Gellert Grindelwald

Voldemort has a shared connection with Harry that allows him to enter Harry's mind and interchange thoughts and memories. According to the Harry Potter books, this type of merging of the mind through visions and dreams is called Legilimency. Because Voldemort is using Legilimency to enter Harry's mind, Dumbledore had Snape teach Harry the basics of Occlumency in the "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" movie. Occlumency empowers Harry to block Voldemort's attempts to invade his mind. Because Harry only had a crash course with Snape, he is still relatively new at Occlumency. During one of Harry's connections with the Dark Lord, Harry sees Voldemort visiting Gellert Grindelwald in prison. Grindelwald reveals to Voldemort that the Elder Wand is buried with Dumbledore, just before Voldemort kills Grindelwald.
10. Which of the following is *NOT* a reason Voldemort steals the Elder Wand from Dumbledore's grave?

Answer: The wand belonged to Voldemort first, so he is taking it back.

Since Voldemort's wand and Harry's wand are connected, Voldemort cannot kill Harry using his own wand. Mr. Ollivander tells Voldemort he must use another wand. Initially, Voldemort uses Lucius Malfoy's wand, but Harry is able to escape. So, the Dark Lord searches for the Deathly Hallows' Elder Wand.

He tortures Gregorovitch, the Wandmaker, and discovers that Gellert Grindelwald stole the Elder Wand. Finding Grindelwald in a prison cell, Voldemort learns that the wand is buried with Dumbledore. The movie ends with Voldemort raiding Dumbledore's tomb and taking the wand.
