"Infinity" was a successful album. Some of the hits from the album include "Wheel in the Sky" and "Lights". Gregg Rollie actually sang (or shared) lead vocals with Steve Perry on a number of the songs including "Feeling That Way" and "Anytime". There is a message in the liner notes of the album from the members of the band expressing their condolences to the friends and family of the band Lynyrd Skynyrd, who had lost several members of their own band in a plane crash shortly before "Infinity" was released.

The cover of the album is vastly different from many of their other albums, with a more futuristic setting that including some kind of strange looking robotic head with the infinity sign below it.
