Wet Wet Wet were formed in Clydebank in 1982 and comprised:

The band split in 1997 following a dispute over royalties. They reformed in 2004, before Marti Pellow left in 2017 to focus on a solo career. He was replaced in 2018 with Kevin Simm, formerly of Liberty X.

Their cover version of The Troggs' "Love is All Around" appears on the album "Picture This", released in 1995. A year earlier, the song was featured on the soundtrack for "Four Weddings and a Funeral". The success of the film helped the song reach number one in the UK charts, where it stayed for an incredible 15 weeks. At the time, this was the second longest continuous spell for a song staying at the top of the UK charts, behind only Bryan Adams' "(Everything I Do) I Do It For You", which topped the charts for 16 weeks in 1991.
3. "Love Hurts"

Nazareth were formed in Dunfermline in 1968 and originally comprised of:

Sheena Easton was born in Bellshill, Lanarkshire, on 27 April 1959.

She became a public figure in 1980 when she appeared in an episode of a British reality show entitled "The Big Time" which offered members of the public the chance to showcase their chosen skill. For Sheena, this involved following the then 19 year old student as she attempted to earn a record contract.

Her first two singles, "Modern Girl" and "9 to 5" were both top ten hits in the UK, while the second of these reached number one in the US Billboard chart, making her only the third UK female solo artist to achieve this feat, following Petula Clark and Lulu.

In 1981, she performed the theme song for the James Bond film "For Your Eyes Only."
5. "Why"

Annie Lennox was born in Aberdeen on 25 December 1954. After dropping out of a course in the Royal Academy of Music in London, in 1976 she joined the band The Tourists, which also included Dave Stewart on guitar. When The Tourist disbanded in 1980, Lennox and Stewart continued to perform together as synth pop due Eurythmics.

The single "Why" featured on the album "Diva" and was released in 1992. It peaked at number five in the UK chart.
6. "Say What You Want"

Texas were formed in Glasgow in 1986 by Johnny McElhone (bass, guitar, keyboards) and Sharleen Spiteri (lead vocals, guitar, keyboards).

Their debut album, "Southside", was released in 1989 and featured the song "I Don't Want a Lover", which reached number eight in the UK chart. However, it wasn't until 1997 that the band made a huge international breakthrough with the album "White on Blonde", which featured the songs "Say What You Want", "Halo", and "Black Eyed Boy" .
7. "Summer"

Answer: Calvin Harris

Born in Dumfries in 1984, Adam Richard Wiles, known professionally as Calvin Harris, is a DJ, record producer, singer and songwriter.

His debut album, "I Created a Disco", was released in 2007 and since then he went on to work with artists such as Rihanna, Ellie Goulding, Ne-Yo and John Newman.

The single "Summer" was released in 2013, reaching number one in the UK chart and seven in the US.
8. "Alive and Kicking"

Answer: Simple Minds

Fronted by lead singer Jim Kerr, Simple Minds were formed in Glasgow in 1977.

Perhaps their best known song is "Don't You (Forget About Me)", which features during the closing credits of the 1985 film "The Breakfast Club". Their follow up single, "Alive and Kicking", was taken from their seventh studio album, "Once Upon a Time", and reached number three on the US Billboard Hot 100.
9. "Real Gone Kid"

Answer: Deacon Blue

Deacon Blue were formed in Glasgow in 1985 and features husband and wife Ricky Ross and Lorraine McIntosh on lead vocals.

The single "Real Gone Kid", released in 1988, features on the album "When the World Knows Your Name", and peaked at number eight on the UK chart.

Away from the band, Lorraine McIntosh appeared as Alice Henderson in the Scottish soap opera "River City" between 2002-2010. She also appeared in a few Scottish films, including "My Name is Joe (1998)", which was directed by Ken Loach.

The band's drummer, Dougie Vipond, has also branched out into other ventures, presenting a range of sporting events on TV, as well as the Scottish rural affairs programme "Landward".
10. "Stupid Girl"

Garbage are an American band fronted by lead vocalist Shirley Manson, who was born in Edinburgh in 1966. Founded in 1993 in Madison, Wisconsin, the other band members are:

The single "Stupid Girl" features on their self-titled debut album and was released in 1996. It reached number four on the UK chart and number 24 on the US Billboard Hot 100.
