Answer: Montreal Maroons
The Maroons were coached by Eddie Gerard. They bested the defending champion Victoria Cougars three games to one. This was the final time the cup was awarded under the older format. Starting in 1927 the cup went to the winner of the NHL. That system lasted through the end of the 20th century.

Answer: Ottawa Senators
Dave Gill's Senators bested Art Ross' Boston Bruins. This was the first time the NHL pitted two teams (from the Canadian and American) conferences, for the Stanley Cup. The Senators won two games to nothing with two ties.
3. 1928
Answer: New York Rangers
Former Victoria Cougars player/coach Lester Patrick, now coaching/playing for the Rangers, defeated Montreal Maroons (the team that had bested him in the 1926 championship). The Rangers won the series 3-2.
4. 1929
Answer: Boston Bruins
Player/coach Cy Dennehy took over coaching duties for the season from Art Ross and led the Bruins to a title over the defending champion Rangers. The series was a two game sweep. Bill Carson scored the series winning goal.
5. 1930
Answer: Montreal Canadiens
Art Ross returned to coaching the Bruins, but couldn't defend his team's title. They fell two games to nothing to Cecil Hart's team from Montreal.
6. 1931
Answer: Montreal Canadiens
Cecil Hart's team won their second straight title, three games to two over the Blackhawks. It was Montreal's seventh appearance in the Stanley Cup finals. It was their fifth win.
7. 1932
Answer: Toronto Maple Leafs
The Leafs improved to 3-0 all time in the Stanley Cup finals, with a three games to none sweep of the Rangers. Dick Irvin was the coach for the winning team.
8. 1933
Answer: New York Rangers
1933 was a rematch of the previous year's finals, but with Lester Patrick's Rangers winning this time. The Rangers won the series three games to one.
9. 1934
Answer: Chicago Black Hawks
The Detroit Red Wings made the finals for the first time in their history, but fell to the Black Hawks. Tommy Gorman lead the Hawks to the 3-1 series victory.
10. 1935
Answer: Montreal Maroons
Gorman returned to the finals, but his team didn't. In the offseason he switched jobs, moving to Montreal, and won another cup. This time he won 3-0 over the Maple Leafs. It was Gorman's last appearance in the finals.
