Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Chief O'Brien and Kira are each given a flower by a humanoid upon transporting down onto a planet, but the humanoid says nothing and instead greets them with a silent hand gesture.

Answer: Past Tense, Part 2

I found this to be one of the funniest moments of this two-part adventure back in time to 1960's San Francisco. In an attempt to locate Sisko, Dax and the rest of their comrades, O'Brien and Kira are constantly transporting from place to place, unable to pinpoint an exact location to where they can be contacted via the com.

When they transport to one particular location on the street, they are met by a Human couple dressed in some rather groovy-looking attire, the woman handing both O'Brien and Kira a flower before she and her male companion flash a peace sign.
2. Joseph Sisko receives an alien patron to his restaurant after he has already closed up for the day, but that patron is actually there to visit Joseph's Starfleet son and is excited about doing so.

Answer: Image In The Sand

In the seventh-season premiere, Captain Sisko is back on Earth, visiting his Dad at the familiar New Orleans restaurant. While the two men are having a heart to heart conversation, a female stranger appears at the restaurant's front door. Joseph tells the woman that he's closed for the day, but the woman says that she's only come to see Ben.

When the surprised captain asks if he knows her after she's let in, the woman simply replies that she's Dax. We then learn that Ezri is the new host for the Dax symbiont after Jadzia died in the previous season.
3. Tennis balls are seen dropping out of sealed compartments by the bunches down at Ops in the episode.

Answer: Distant Voices

The 'aging' Dr. Bashir is being toyed with by whom he at first perceives to be his amiable Cardassian friend, Garak. Towards the end of the episode, DS9's chief medical officer is barely able to walk when he and Garak arrive at the deserted Ops station.

They need to gain access to a couple of computer panels, but each time Bashir removes the hatches, a bunch of tennis balls fall out onto the floor. The minor significance of this was that it was simply another part of Bashir's mind; tennis was a sport that he enjoyed playing in his leisure time, much like O'Brien enjoyed kayaking or how he and O'Brien were often seen playing darts together at Quark's bar.
4. Kira is on board the Defiant, attempting to comfort and keep alive a severely-injured Captain Sisko by telling him stories instead of talking about work, which they had been so accustomed to doing.

Answer: Starship Down

With the Defiant heavily damaged and adrift, key systems inoperable and its crewmembers displaced and scattered about, Kira finds herself trapped on the bridge with her severely-injured superior captain. As Sisko struggles to stay conscious, he twice orders his Bajoran first officer to tell him a story so that he would have something else to focus his mind on instead of his injured state.

Not surprisingly, Kira's first is an old Bajoran tale, but she never gets to finish it when Sisko interrupts to ask her about the Defiant's current status following the Jem Ha'dar attack.
5. American actress and singer Vanessa L. Williams guest stars as an alien character in this episode.

Answer: Let He Who Is Without Sin...

The famed and talented actress and singer, who's best known for her iconic roles in the 1997 film, "Soul Food", and the television series "Ugly Betty" and "Desperate Housewives", and her hit single "Save The Best For Last", also starred in this early fifth-season episode where Worf and Jadzia Dax are vacationing on Risa.

When the Klingon and Trill lovers arrive on the infamous pleasure-seeking paradise of a planet, they are greeted by Arandis, an old friend of Curzon Dax, who is being played by the gorgeous Vanessa L. Williams.

The vacation doesn't go quite as planned for Dax, who has a heart-to-heart talk with Arandis partway through the episode, admitting that she's had better vacations. Arandis even gets to say the trademark Risian welcome that no visit to Risa would be complete without: 'all that is ours is yours'.
6. Chief O'Brien is methodically portioning out the food on his plate while having dinner on board the station, eerily in the same manner that he is seen portioning out food in a different locale elsewhere in the episode.

Answer: Hard Times

Perhaps the revealing clue for answering this question is in the episode title itself, as the chief engineer is having a 'hard time' readjusting to life back on board the station after his time spent in the prison. During his confinement, a survival tactic he had gotten used to was dividing the little food he was given in order to ensure he'd still have some for later.

While he's trying to enjoy a nice dinner with Keiko in their quarters, O'Brien is doing the exact same thing--dividing out the food on his plate.

It was clear that his mind remained locked into survival mode as if he was still being held in that prison cell.
7. Leeta is sleeping in crew quarters when the teddy bear that she's sleeping with is stolen right from under her by a silent intruder.

Answer: In The Cards

Among the silly side-quests that Jake and Nog must complete in order to acquire the Willie Mays baseball card from the man at the auction is to get Leeta's teddy bear, which Dr. Bashir is sick and tired of. Julian offers to give the two boys the medical substance that they requested in exchange, which will then be given to the man at the auction.

When we later see Leeta sleeping with the teddy bear in her and Julian's quarters, Nog is silently at her bedside. He lightly tickles Leeta's face to force her to turn over to the other side, enabling the Ferengi ensign to snatch the cuddly toy away before she wakes up and notices.
8. Jennifer Sisko is shot and killed by hand-held weapons fire while in the Parallel Universe in this episode.

Answer: Shattered Mirror

In this fourth-season adventure into the alternate Terok Nor, Jake finally gets to meet the mirror Jennifer Sisko, whom had died in the real universe all the way back in the series pilot, "Emissary", after the Federation's legendary battle with the Borg at Wolf 359. Excited about seeing his 'mother' again, Jake travels with her to Terok Nor, but a concerned Captain Sisko follows in pursuit via the dimensional transporter, believing the mirror Jennifer to have ulterior motives. Towards the end of the episode, Jake and Jennifer are attempting to escape and walking through one of the corridors on the mirror station when they encounter the Intendant--the mirror Kira--who fires a deadly blast at Jennifer using a hand-held projectile launcher.
9. The Female Changeling warns Federation allies that victory over the Dominion will be as bitter as defeat, but the warning is given while those allies are in her immediate presence instead of via an open com channel.

Answer: What You Leave Behind

In a monumental and memorable moment in the climactic series finale, the new Federation/Cardassian alliance has successfully infiltrated Dominion headquarters, arriving in the room where the Female Changeling has been hiding out. Although the Dominion is pretty much defeated at this point, the Founder verbally gives the chilling message to Kira and her comrades that, by the time the Federation wins the war, victory will be as bitter as defeat, given the hundreds if not thousands of lives that will have already been lost in the process.
10. All of the senior officers are seen remaining on board Deep Space 9 and never leaving the station in all of the following episodes...except this one.

Answer: Little Green Men

This one may require some extra thought, but it first helps to know who the senior officers are: Captain/Commander Sisko, Kira, Jadzia/Ezri Dax, Dr. Bashir, Chief O'Brien, Odo and Worf. Secondly, if all of the senior officers did remain on board the station for an entire episode, it may indicate that either a station-wide crisis of some kind or a character dilemma not requiring departure from DS9 took place, which may serve as an additional clue.

In "Distant Voices", the crisis was Dr. Bashir believing that he's aging as the result of the Lethean's attack on him in the infirmary, and everything that transpired from that point forward was all in his mind with no action whatsoever taking place outside the station.

In "It's Only A Paper Moon", most of the episode took place on the holosuite with Vic Fontaine, as Nog is dealing with his trauma after suffering his injury in the line of duty earlier in the season; nobody leaves the station for any reason here either.

In "Invasive Procedures", all of the senior officers had no choice but to remain on the station, as they were being held hostage by the Trill man, who was wanting to extract the Dax symboint, and his armed mercenaries. So that leaves "Little Green Men" as the correct answer. Upon arriving on Earth, the Ferengi family trio consisting of Quark, Rom and Nog are surprised when the dog that had been accompanying them inside the military base's infirmary suddenly morphs into Odo, who had been a stowaway on the Ferengi vessel for the entire trip. Odo, of course, is the station's security chief.

Not only is he responsible for the safety and welfare of DS9's residents and frequent visitors; he also makes it a personal mission to always keep a close eye on Quark and his covert criminal activities.
