Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Counselor Troi is escorting a young child through a corridor en route to crew quarters, but upon entering inside those quarters, she is stunned when the interior has somehow transformed into the original furnishings of a familiar home back on Earth.

Answer: The Bonding

The boy named Jeremy Aster, whose mother had died in the accidental explosion down on the planet, is being escorted back to his quarters by Counselor Troi. But when they both enter inside, Jeremy is excited when he sees that the interior has changed to appear like his original home back on Earth, complete with all of the original furnishings, including his pet cat. Deanna, on the other hand, is visibly concerned that something is amiss. That concern is warranted when the alien being, who has masqueraded as Jeremy's dead mother out of guilt, appears for the second time, promising the boy that he will live happily ever after back on the desolate planet, even if it is only a created fantasy.
2. Chief O'Brien shows off his pet tarantula while in Ten Forward in this episode.

Answer: Realm Of Fear

The final scene in this episode is quite a humorous one! The Enterprise's trusty transporter room officer and the eccentric Lieutenant Barclay are having a conversation in Ten Forward following resolution of the events. Having discussed his own previous fears of spiders earlier in the episode, O'Brien presents a glass box that he opens to reveal...a giant living tarantula! Barclay isn't afraid of it initially, but when O'Brien leaves to go fetch the two gentlemen drinks from the bar, O'Brien's pet arachnid has silently crawled out of the box and onto Barclay's arm.
3. A female ensign newly assigned to the Enterprise accidentally spills hot chocolate on Picard in Engineering while both are in uniform in this episode.

Answer: Q Who

At the very beginning of this episode, the people-pleasing and slightly-eccentric young Ensign Sonya Gomez is talking to Geordi in engineering about her fascination with serving on board the Enterprise and exploring the galaxy. After Sonya replicates some hot chocolate, she isn't paying attention to where she's walking and accidentally bumps into Picard, who just so happened to be paying a visit to engineering himself at the same time. Hot chocolate spills on the uniform of the disappointed captain, who then immediately leaves to go change while Geordi tries his best to reassure his clumsy new crewmate.
4. Data experiences the physical Human sensation of sneezing in his quarters; later, he experiences the physical Human sensation of twitching in the Cargo Bay.

Answer: Datalore

Perhaps 'twitching' gave this one away? The 'evil' and scheming android creation of Dr. Noonian Soong showed the defect of twitching once he was reactivated upon being brought back to the Enterprise. In one scene, after giving Data a drink that causes the Enterprise's senior operations officer to drop unconscious (at least by technical standards), Lore uses a device that removes his twitch and transfers it onto Data's face, believing it would redirect suspicion away from himself. Towards the end of the episode, after Lore and Data's struggle in the Cargo Bay with Wesley helping to save the day, Data still shows the twitch, to which Picard hotly demands that it be removed. Prior to all of these events, at the very beginning of the episode, Data is practicing the Human sensation of sneezing in front of a mirror in his quarters, prompting a confused Wesley to incorrectly assume his android crewmate has a cold.
5. Picard and Riker are enjoying target practice inside the Enterprise's Phaser Range, discussing the Federation's new Officer Exchange Program.

Answer: A Matter Of Honor

And perhaps 'Officer Exchange Program' is what clued you in to this one? There were two stories in this episode that saw Starfleet officers serving on board other starships: the main one being Riker serving as commander on the Klingon ship and the secondary one being the Benzite named Mendon who works at a science station on the bridge. Prior to all of this happening, there's a scene near the beginning where Riker has joined Picard inside the Phaser Range.

While the captain and first officer are testing their respective visual acuities, Picard asks for Riker's thoughts about the Federation's recently-established Officer Exchange Program, which then leads to Picard granting Riker the opportunity to serve on board the Klingon ship in order to better learn about the not-yet-understood alien species.
6. Data is methodically unwrapping a book gifted to him from Worf in Ten Forward, initially thinking he should preserve the wrapping; just like Humans traditionally do, however, he ends up tearing the wrapping off the book anyways.

Answer: The Measure Of A Man

When it is feared Data will be permanently leaving the Enterprise in order to be studied by Commander Maddox, a 'going-away party' is held for him in Ten Forward. Several gifts have been presented to him, with Data seen carefully trying to remove the wrapping from one gift in particular. Data explains he can preserve the wrapping for additional usage, but when Wesley offers that it isn't necessary, Data proceeds to ripping the rest of the wrapping off and reveals a book, Worf relaying that it is an old Klingon text.
7. A holographic Romulan ship appears while the Enterprise is in close proximity to another Federation vessel, but shortly after the holographic image mysteriously disappears from view, an approaching Ferengi ship, which isn't holographic, severely damages the Enterprise with unprovoked weapons fire.

Answer: Peak Performance

While the Enterprise is engaged in the combat simulation with the U.S.S. Hathaway using computerized lasers and torpedoes, what is perceived to be a Romulan ship appears out of nowhere via the Enterprise's main viewscreen, then disappears just as quickly.

It turns out the 'ship' was actually a ploy devised by the Hathaway crew to trick the Enterprise's sensors. However, when combat resumes, a Ferengi ship (which also appears out of nowhere!) fires on the Enterprise while the derelict and defenseless Hathaway can do nothing but stand by.

The Ferengi captain, unaware that a combat simulation was in progress, then explains his confusion as to why a Federation ship would intentionally fire upon another, believing the derelict Hathaway to be of some priceless value.

But the cunning and greedy aliens get nothing when they are fooled into thinking that the Enterprise 'destroys' the Hathaway, in much the same manner that the Enterprise's sensors were fooled by the false Romulan ship.
8. An Enterprise away team led by Riker transports over to a Federation ship where it confirms that a hatch was blown out, which had resulted in the deaths of several crewmembers and happened while Picard was communicating to one of the ship's occupants via an open com link only moments before.

Answer: The Naked Now

At the very beginning of this memorable and hilarious episode, Picard is on the bridge communicating with the highly-intoxicated, seductively-talking woman on board the science vessel, the U.S.S. Tsiolkovsky. As the captain is trying to reason with the woman to find out what is happening, several crewmembers in the background are heard cheering 'Go ahead!' and 'Do it!', followed by the deafening sound of a hatch being blown out, which Data makes a remark about. Shortly afterwards, Riker leads an away team of Data, Geordi and Yar over to the science vessel.

He discovers that, besides there being a lot of debris left over from whatever wild party had been going on (among other inexplicable oddities), a hatch was indeed blown out, which undoubtedly caused several crewmembers to succumb to their deaths in the vacuum of outer space.
9. Counselor Troi is requested to change into the traditional blue Starfleet uniform, having worn her trademark light-purple V-neck jumpsuit earlier in the episode.

Answer: Chain Of Command, Part 1

The strict and extremely demanding Captain Jellico has assumed command of the Enterprise while Picard, Worf and Dr. Crusher have embarked on a mission to locate the secret Cardassian installation. And among the new changes he enforces (however petty or important they may have seemed to everyone else) is that Counselor Troi wear a regular blue Starfleet uniform, which he asks her to do when the two officers are in the corridor together. Presumably, it was his desire for all crewmembers to adhere to Starfleet principles and regulations as closely as possible. We then later see the ship's resident Betazoid out of her purple jumpsuit and in the blue Starfleet uniform when she, Riker and Jellico are negotiating with the Cardassian representatives in the Observation Lounge.
10. Guinan is wearing one of her trademark El-Aurian costumes in all of the following episodes...except this one.

Answer: Descent, Part 1

This one is slightly tricky! Considering that Guinan was a central character in most Borg-related stories, one would think that the always-wise El-Aurian would have made an appearance in the sixth season cliffhanger, right? Not so, because Guinan would not appear in this episode at all! Her final appearance of the whole series, in fact, was a few episodes prior to this: "Suspicions". Guinan did appear, however, in the other Borg-themed episode, "I, Borg", where she is seen wearing a gray costume when she is visiting 'Hugh' and while she's having the heart-to-heart conversation with Picard.

In "Time's Arrow, Part 2", while we do initially see Guinan dressed in her 19th-century attire when Data has gotten acquainted with her on Earth, we finally see her in the reddish-purple costume when she is back in Ten Forward behind the bar near the end of the episode during a short montage while Picard's voice is speaking over the com.

Then in "Rascals", Guinan remains in her dark purple costume for the episode's entire duration, whether she's on board the shuttle with Picard, Keiko and Ensign Ro or involved in the revolt with the other 'children' in retaking control of the Enterprise from the Ferengi.
