Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. A musical composition being played somewhere on the Enterprise is later the very key in helping the crew to locate an alien ship, where one of the passengers is being the victim of an invasive brain procedure.

Answer: Ménage À Troi

During the banquet in Ten Forward commemorating the conclusion of the diplomatic festivities, there is music being played on the rather crude-looking percussion instrument comprising of wooden pieces suspended from strings. Wesley recognizes that music when Data is analyzing the subspace static at the workstation on the bridge. Once the static is filtered out, the exact same beat becomes crystal clear, the bridge crew believing it to be a distress signal sent out by Riker so that the Ferengi ship, the Krayton, can be tracked. Meanwhile, the Ferengi doctor convinces DaiMon Tog to extract Lwaxana Troi's telepathic powers, and the Betazoid 'Daugher Of The Fifth House' soon finds herself bound to an operation table and wailing in sheer agony.

In "The Survivors", it's true that there was music being heard onboard the Enterprise--the haunting melody from the music box that Data discovers in the Uxbridges' house down on the planet that drives Counselor Troi to near insanity--but the music didn't help the crew to locate any alien ship where someone was having a procedure performed on their body.

In "The Mind's Eye", it's true that Geordi was the victim of the Romulans' invasive brain stimuli while strapped to a chair at the beginning of the episode, but there was no kind of music involved that helped the crew to locate the Romulan ship that captured him. Then in "Lessons", between the tunes being played by Picard and his new-found love interest, Lieutenant Commander Daren, on the flute and piano, respectively, and the orchestral score performed by Data, Daren and the ensign during the concert in Ten Forward, none of these songs were ever used to locate any alien ships in the vicinity of the Enterprise.
2. Worf gets into a physical brawl with an alien during a card game onboard the Enterprise.

Answer: Liaisons

It's revealed at the very end of the episode that the Iyaaran delegate being escorted by Worf was sent to test the emotion of antagonism. During a seemingly innocent game of poker in Riker's quarters before that, Worf accuses the delegate of cheating, which then leads to the resident Klingon security chief initiating a physical fist match with the alien, much to the shock of Riker and Counselor Troi. Even more shocking, however, is the delegate standing back up on his feet and congratulating Worf for having passed the test. Worf is not playing any card games at all in nether "Suddenly Human" nor "Redemption, Part 1", and he's certainly not getting into any physical confrontations with neither the Tyran scientists nor the sentient Exocomps while playing poker with Riker, Geordi and Dr. Crusher in "The Quality Of Life".
3. Dr. Crusher gives two staged theatrical performances solely for the entertainment of an audience of fellow Enterprise crewmembers while dressed in a costume, the one person acting opposite of her leaving her in a state of awe after the second performance.

Answer: The Nth Degree

Lieutenant Barclay serves as Dr. Crusher's partner for a staged Shakespearean performance they present to Riker, Data, Counselor Troi and several other members of the crew. In their first act together, Barclay clumsily delivers his lines to a costume-clad Crusher and the not-so-impressed yet very respectful audience. Yet in their second act, however, Barclay's new-found super-intelligence allows him to master the poetic art of Shakespeare, delivering every line with expert ease and nearly bringing a stunned Dr. Crusher to tears.

In "Time's Arrow, Part 2", it's true that Crusher was giving a staged performance of sorts while she, Geordi, Data, Troi, Riker and Picard are holed up inside the hotel in nineteenth-century San Francisco. In order to divert suspicion away from the true reason for their presence there, she and her nineteenth-century-clad shipmates pretend to be reciting lines from books in their possession when the woman who owns the hotel shows up again to demand collection of their overdue rent. None of the acting, therefore, was performed solely for anyone's entertainment.

The good doctor isn't putting on any kind of entertaining performances in neither "Family" nor "Sub Rosa".
4. Picard gets reacquainted with a woman, who is not stationed onboard the Enterprise but someone whom he had met in the past, in all of the following episodes...except this one.

Answer: The Best Of Both Worlds, Part 1

The only two women that Picard is seen acquainting himself with in this episode are Guinan and Commander Shelby. Picard has already gotten to know Guinan quite well by the time this episode aired, but his El-Aurian friend IS someone who is stationed permanently onboard the Enterprise. Further, although Shelby had NOT ever been stationed onboard the ship, Picard had NOT ever met the Borg expert prior to her arrival.

In "We'll Always Have Paris", Picard gets reacquainted with Jenice, the wife of the scientist experimenting with manipulating time named Dr. Paul Manheim.

It's revealed through dialogue that the pair had brief romantic relations before the captain stood Jenice up on a date in Paris and accepted his assignment onboard the Enterprise.

In "The Measure Of A Man", Picard gets reacquainted with the commander named Philippa Luvouis while visiting the starbase; she serves as the judge in Riker's case versus Commander Maddox to determine Data's humanity. Then in "Qpid", Picard finds himself reunited with Vash, sharing a passionate kiss with the alluring woman in his quarters at the beginning of the episode.

The Enterprise's captain had previously met Vash while he was vacationing on Risa back in the third-season episode, "Captain's Holiday".
5. The Enterprise's bridge is the very first location where Q is seen materializing in all of the following episodes...except this one.

Answer: Q Who

The omnipotent alien usually prefers to make his grand entrance into the show by first popping up on the bridge to tease and insult Picard and the other bridge officers. In "Déjà Q", he materializes in mid-air before dropping onto the bridge floor shortly after the crew has made contact with the inhabitants of Bre'el IV.

In "Hide And Q", he's seen as a bright ball of energy and light before taking on his usual Human form dressed in a Starfleet admiral's uniform. "Encounter At Farpoint" saw the omnipotent alien appearing on the bridge clad in a pirate's costume shortly after the Enterprise is captured in his signature forcefield grid.

However, "Q Who" is the one in this group that deviates from the pattern. After Picard exits the turbolift near the beginning of the episode, he finds himself walking into the darkened interior of a shuttlecraft, which is where he finds Q dressed in the familiar red Starfleet command uniform and seated at the helm.
6. Riker becomes furious when the transport of a group of alien devices off the Enterprise is blocked by commands input from another area of the ship.

Answer: The Quality Of Life

When the lives of Geordi and Picard are being threatened with dangerous radiation while down on the planet monitoring the particle fountain towards the end of the episode, the Tyran scientist named Dr. Farallon believes that her Exocomps can control the radiation leakage and allow the Enterprise's chief engineer and captain to be beamed back safely to the ship.

But as the Exocomps are prepared for transport, Riker becomes frustrated when the transporter room chief is unable to send the devices away, soon realizing that Data purposely blocked out the controls from a station on the bridge. Riker learns that Data believed the Exocomps are sentient lifeforms and should have a choice whether or not they want to endanger themselves to save their crewmates.

In "First Contact", one could say Riker was furious while being holed up in the Malcorian medical facility and having all plans of escape thwarted by the staff, but his anger was never as a result of the transport of any Malcorian devices nor other alien technology. Riker is somewhat furious at the beginning of "Brothers", as Data has practically taken complete control of the Enterprise with his computer and security lockouts before being summoned down to the planet by Dr. Soong, but there are no alien devices that get him stirred up in any manner in this episode.

Then in "Evolution", the only devices of interest are the nanites and the instrument in the cargo bay referred to as 'The Egg' by the guest scientist Dr. Stubbs, but neither are alien in origin, and nor do they cause Riker to become furious in any way.
7. Dr. Crusher is performing a scan in sickbay when, right before her eyes, something in the room making contact with her creates a duplicate of her hand.

Answer: Aquiel

The ship's chief medical officer is analyzing the DNA from the cellular residue found on the relay station where Lieutenant Rocha was supposedly murdered. When she realizes that the DNA has started to become animate, the reddish coalescent organism on the examination table momentarily touches her hand, creating an exact duplicate of it.

It's determined that this particular organism may have been what actually consumed Lieutenant Rocha prior to his arrival on the relay station with Lieutenant Aquiel Uhnari.

Although there were plenty of mutations taking shape as a result of the airborne T-cell virus sweeping the ship in "Genesis", there are no specific body parts being duplicated. The same holds true for "Imaginary Friend", and although both Geordi and Commander Leitjen undergo the transformation into the lifeforms on Tarchannen III, the same holds true for "Identity Crisis" as well.
8. Wesley pilots a shuttle to a medical facility at a Federation starbase in order for his passenger to receive special heart treatment.

Answer: Samaritan Snare

Picard is reluctant to have his heart replaced by Dr. Pulaski for the sake of protecting his own image, so he agrees to join Wesley on a shuttlecraft and head towards a Federation starbase. While Wesley is going there to complete Starfleet entrance exams, Picard is there to undergo the cardiac replacement procedure by a medical staff. To the captain's surprise--and grief--Dr. Pulaski ends up having followed him to the starbase after all and being among the doctors taking part in the risky procedure.

In "Final Mission", we do see Wesley onboard the mining shuttle before the crash on the moon, but Captain Dirgo and Captain Picard are the ones who take turns controlling the helm while Wesley mans the ops stations. Besides that, although Picard does eventually need medical assistance once the three men enter the caves, treatment for his heart is not among his requirements. Wesley further isn't piloting a shuttlecraft--nor is even a passenger on a shuttlecraft at all--in neither "The Schizoid Man" nor "The Measure Of A Man".
9. Counselor Troi allows an alien visiting the Enterprise to sample a favorite chocolate dessert of hers in Ten Forward; after the alien overindulges in many other foods while in her company, Troi receives a sample of something far less indulgent from the alien in return.

Answer: Liaisons

It's revealed at the end of this episode that the Iyaaran delegate who was assigned to Troi had been instructed to experience pleasure. When the pair is in Ten Forward at the beginning, Troi is showing her alien companion the vast variety of dessert dishes on the buffet table, specifically recommending the chocolate cake and letting him taste a forkful.

Then before the Iyaarans depart from the Enterprise, Troi receives nutritional supplements from him in return that he admits are not nearly as tasty as the desserts he had the pleasure of indulging in.

There was a banquet commemorating the end of the diplomatic festivities on Betazed at the beginning of "Ménage À Troi"; although Troi was in attendance, neither she nor any of the other alien guests present are visibly indulging in any kind of chocolate dessert.

A feast has been prepared for the Ullian delegates and the senior crew at the beginning of "Violations", but neither Troi nor any of the alien guests are indulging in anything chocolate.

Then in "Loud As A Whisper", we do see Troi dining privately with Riva, but she's never trying to get him to indulge in any of her chocolate fantasies,
10. Borg are seen transporting directly to some location onboard the Enterprise using their own transporter technology in all of the following episodes...except this one.

Answer: I, Borg

The one transport of Borg onto the Enterprise that happens in this episode is when 'Hugh' and an unnamed male security officer do a site-to-site transport from the detention cell, where 'Hugh' was being held, directly into the science lab where Geordi and Dr. Crusher are waiting to perform more tests on their cybernetic guest.

When we do see the Borg using their own transporter technology, it is at the very end of the episode when the other drones arrive at the crash site to retrieve 'Hugh' back into the Collective.

In "Q Who", shortly after the crew encounters the Borg cube for the very first time, a Borg drone suddenly appears in engineering right in front of Geordi's eyes using its own transporter device, proceeding to collect data at a nearby computer station. Borg drones further use their own transporter technology when they appear on the bridge to abduct Picard and eventually transform him into Locutus in "The Best Of Both Worlds, Part 1", then midway through "Descent, Part 1", when they appear on the bridge again to divert the crew's attention away from pursuing their ship discovered in orbit around the Ohniaka III outpost.
