Jack was seen asleep and a woman came in and told him and Hurley they were going to a military facility just west of Honolulu. She also mentioned that the facility was private. Jack woke up right as she was talking.

During the flash forward, it was Kate that was holding him while he was on the helicopter. During season four, Claire was involved in a plane crash and she was presumed dead but she was alive. While she was presumed dead, Kate began to care for Aaron. Kate told Claire's mother, Carole, that Claire was alive and that she would go back to the island, where Claire was, to get her to return to Aaron.

Juliet was not a part of this group since she died in the season five finale.

Right after Rose, Kate, Sun, Dan, Jack, and Hurley heard the conversation, from the helicopter, Jack set out to go get some guns to prepare the island survivors to protect themselves and he instructed Kate to go get water. Juliet objected to Jack doing this and she told him he needed to rest since he had just had an appendectomy. Jack assured her she would be fine but Juliet told him he needed to just sit down and rest, even if he disliked it. Jack still did not take Juliet's advice so she told him to not bleed to death.

Jack and Kate were going off to get guns and water so the island survivors could protect themselves and they got scared when they heard noises amongst the trees. They got out their guns and saw it was Miles. Miles told them it had been a long time since he had seen them and then they heard Aaron crying.*

Sawyer told them she walked off, in the middle of the night, and they could not find her. Sawyer hoped that she went back to the beach. Jack feared the worst and that Claire had died.

All of the Oceanic Six were shown, in a flash forward, at a press conference to discuss their ordeal with the plane crashing and their survival on the island. They got to Jack and he commented that he remembered the impact and how the plane quickly filled up with water.
