Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. This episode opens up with a 'flash-forward' in a cargo plane carrying the Oceanic Six back home. The first of the 'Six' we see is Jack, but who is the last of them we see in this scene?

Answer: Aaron

The scene opens up showing the sky and the camera pans back into the plane. One of the pilots asks Mrs. Decker to inform the passengers they are going to be landing. When Mrs. Decker enters the back and tells them they will be landing, the camera cuts over to a close-up of Jack, then pans over to Hurley.

As Mrs. Decker is explaining the details of the landing, the camera cuts over to show close-ups of Kate and Sun, followed by Sayid. It's not until the camera pulls back and shows us all six of them together, do we see Kate is holding Aaron.
2. During the 'flash-forward' of the Oceanic Six being flown back in a cargo plane, they are shown exiting the back of the plane upon landing and being greeted by friends and family. Three of them have people waiting for them and three do not. Not counting Aaron, which two of the Oceanic Six do not have anyone waiting there to greet them?

Answer: Kate and Sayid

When the plane lands we see Hurley is the first one to exit. We then see Hurley's mother and father walking toward him and to the left of them are Sun's parents. Sun then exits the plane, followed by Sayid, Kate and Aaron and finally Jack. Sun's parents both rush to her and hug her, then Jack's mother runs over and hugs him. We do not see anyone there waiting to greet Sayid but Hurley grabs a hold of Sayid and introduces him to his parents. We then see Kate standing there, holding Aaron and looking around but no one comes over to greet her.
3. When Jack and Kate run into Sawyer in the jungle, Kate asks Sawyer "Where's Claire?". What was Sawyer's response?

Answer: "We lost her."

Sawyer explains to Jack and Kate how Claire walked off into the jungle in the middle of the night. Sawyer and Miles spent a day searching for her but did not find her anywhere. Sawyer assumed she had headed back to the beach, but Jack confirms that she never returned to the beach camp.
4. In the 'flash-forward' of the Oceanic Six at the press conference explaining the events of their crash and recovery, the Oceanic Airlines representative, Karen Decker, tells the press the name of an uncharted island they assumed the survivors ended up on. What was the name of this island?

Answer: Membata

During this press conference, the name of the island is mentioned a couple of times as well as shown on the map of the estimated area of the crash. Karen explains how, based on the wreckage of flight 815, they estimated the survivors were carried by the ocean's current to a small uncharted island called Membata. According to the press booklets released by Oceanic Airlines, on day 103 of the survivor's time on the island, a typhoon washed up the remains of an Indonesian fishing boat which had supplies and survival raft aboard it. On day 108, the survivors managed to use the raft to travel to an inhabited island called Sumba and came ashore at a village named Manukangga. Believing the story told by the Oceanic Six, Karen also tells the press how Kate gave birth to Aaron on Membata.
5. This episode has multiple groups of people all heading toward the same location, one of the Dharma stations on the island. Which station are they all heading to?

Answer: The Orchid

Ben, Locke and Hurley are heading to The Orchid station in an attempt to 'move' the island, as Locke was instructed by the person in Jacob's cabin who appeared to be Christian Shephard. Meanwhile, the military team from the freighter is also heading there in an attempt to capture Ben and initiate what they refer to as their "Secondary Protocol". Jack, accompanied by Sawyer, continues to track the helicopter's beacon using the SAT phone dropped by Lapidus.
6. During the press conference in the 'flash-forward' of the Oceanic Six, a reporter asks Sun about her husband Jin. She confirms that Jin died on the island.

Answer: False

The reporter asks Sun, in Korean, if her husband was one of the people who died on the island. Sun translates the question for the rest of the press and, after a long pause, answers that Jin had never made it off the plane. We know, from previous 'flash-forwards' and from their earlier conversation aboard the cargo plane, that the Oceanic Six have all agreed to stick to a story they were going to use to explain the events of their survival to the rest of the world.
7. Throughout the episode, Aaron is passed from person to person. By the end of the episode, Aaron ends up aboard the freighter. In this episode, how many people are involved in carrying him from the point we first see him to the point he reaches the freighter?

Answer: 3

The first time we see Aaron is in Sawyer's arms. He then gets passed to Kate and then later to Sun. Using the SAT phone dropped from the helicopter by Lapidus, Jack and Kate head off into the jungle to track the beacon signal coming from the helicopter. On their way toward the source of the signal, they run into Miles and Sawyer, who is carrying Aaron.

After Sawyer warns them not to track the helicopter, he hands Aaron over to Kate. Jack tells Kate to bring Aaron back to the beach and continues on after the helicopter. Sawyer, concerned about Jack going alone, heads after him leaving Kate to take care of Aaron.

When Kate reaches the beach, Sayid is getting ready to go after Jack. Wanting to join Sayid in his search, Kate hands Aaron over to Sun to take with her to the freighter.
8. Faraday, using the raft Sayid returns with, takes charge of ferrying the survivors from the island to the freighter six at a time. The first six consist of three characters we know and three unnamed survivors. One known character is baby Aaron but who are the other two?

Answer: Sun and Jin

Sun, Jin, Aaron and three 'unnamed' people are the first six to get on the raft with Faraday. When Sayid returns to the island with the raft, the people still at the beach run over to him. He tells them that he will ferry over six people at a time to the freighter and that they must get them all off the island before the group in the helicopter returns.

When he is told by Juliet that Jack and Kate used the SAT phone to track the helicopter, he decides to go after them to stop them. After Sayid makes the decision to go after Jack and Kate, Faraday suggests that he begin ferrying the people over while Sayid is going after Kate. Just before Sayid heads out, Kate, Aaron and Miles come out of the jungle and inform Sayid that Jack and Sawyer went on searching for the helicopter. Kate hands Aaron over to Sun to take along with her and heads back into the jungle with Sayid.
9. Jack and Sawyer finally manage to find the helicopter and they discover Lapidus inside handcuffed to the seat. Lapidus tells them he dropped the SAT phone to them in order to warn them to stay away from the helicopter landing site.

Answer: False

When Jack and Sawyer find the helicopter they hear someone moving inside. As they move closer, Jack realizes it is Lapidus inside and calls out to him. Sawyer then asks Jack "You know this yahoo?" to which Lapidus yells out "Yahoo? This yahoo dropped that phone on you guys". Lapidus then tells them he dropped the SAT phone to them so they could find him and he could fly them all out of there.

He also warns them that they will want to be long gone before the group he dropped off there returns.
10. Toward the conclusion of this episode we are shown four scenarios. Sun on the freighter, Jack and Sawyer heading away from the helicopter, Sayid and Kate being lead through the jungle by Ben's people, and Hurley, Locke and Ben just outside The Orchid. Who is the last person to speak in this episode?

Answer: Ben

In the scenes with Sun on the freighter, Jack and Sawyer at the helicopter and Sayid and Kate with 'The Others', none of them say anything. In the final scene with Locke's group, Ben walks over to the military group guarding The Orchid with his hands in the air and says "My name is Benjamin Linus, I believe you're looking for me?".

The scene ends with Keamy pointing his gun at Ben then hitting him with it.
