Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the flashback at the beginning of the episode, Jimmy and Marco broke into the abandoned store that Jimmy's parents used to own. What did Jimmy remove from the ceiling tiles?

Answer: A Band-Aid can with coins in it

Marco asked Jimmy why the coins were there, and Jimmy explained that one time, a customer had paid with a rare quarter, and when Jimmy told his father about the coin, his father tried to find the customer to give it back. When he couldn't find the man, his father wanted to donate it to the church, so Jimmy "made it disappear". Jimmy would then check the cash register every day to see if there were any other valuable coins, and he'd add any that he found to his stash in the ceiling tile. Marco said it was sad that Jimmy's parents lost the store, and Jimmy said that they just weren't cut out for the business.

When Marco pointed out that everyone liked Jimmy's dad, Jimmy said "it was because he was a soft touch".
2. What did Mike use to help him locate the body of the good Samaritan whom Hector had killed in the desert?

Answer: A metal detector

At the end of the last episode, Mike had met with Nacho to discuss the latter's plans for doing away with Hector, and when the conversation ended, Mike had said that he would need one more thing from Nacho. We found out this week that it must have been the location where the body of the good Samaritan who had stopped to help Hector's driver was buried. Mike took a metal detector with him and spent quite a bit of time searching the area, first digging up an old metal can, and then digging in several other spots before eventually locating the man's hand with his wedding ring on it. Mike then made an anonymous call to the tribal police to report finding a body while he was out looking for arrowheads with his metal detector; he said he didn't want to give his name because he was trespassing on the land.
3. When the music store owners told Jimmy that they were going to film their own commercials, Jimmy reverted to his Slippin' Jimmy days to get money out of them. What item did he slip on?

Answer: Drumstick

One of the store owners seemed enthusiastic about shooting another commercial, but his brother then said that he had talked to the TV station and found out that it cost less to run the commercials than Jimmy had quoted. Jimmy pointed out that the station was just quoting air-time.

When the men said that they would just pay to re-air the commercial that had already been filmed, Jimmy told them that they didn't own it: "It's the real and intellectual property of Saul Goodman Productions". At that point, they told Jimmy that they would just film their own commercial. Jimmy looked briefly distraught, but then he spotted the drumstick on a stand and told his camera guy to turn on the camera and keep it rolling on him.

Then Slippin' Jimmy knocked the drumstick onto the floor and slipped on it: "You guys have liability insurance, right?"
4. While Kim was having a business lunch with Kevin and Paige, Howard stopped by the table to say hello and to throw a quick dig at Kim. When Kim returned the favor, stopping by the table where Howard was meeting with clients, what did she hand him?

Answer: A check

Howard at first seemed complimentary, stating that, "Kim's one of the best - you're lucky to have her". But he threw in a quick dig: "Seems like just yesterday she was logging hours in doc review". Kim laughed it off, but Paige picked up on it. When Howard left, Kevin started to return to their conversation, but Kim excused herself and went to the bar area where she took out her checkbook and wrote out a check.

She then went to the table where Howard was sitting with his clients and handed him the check.

While Kim was being introduced to the people sitting around the table, Howard took a look at the check. It was made out to HHM for $14,815 for "loan repayment". Later when Kim was waiting for the valet to get her car, Howard approached her and told her that he wasn't cashing it.

He was bitter because he was having to do damage control with HHM's clients because of the trial. Kim's response: "All Jimmy and I did was show the situation for what it is. And if you were hiding that from your clients, well Howard, that's on you".
5. In his attempt to get better, Chuck ran an errand by himself, using mindfulness techniques to concentrate on the colors he saw rather than the electricity. Where did he go?

Answer: Grocery store

Chuck was working with Dr. Cruz to get over his electricity illness, and she'd been impressed by his progress, but she told him it could take years for him to fully recover. Chuck apparently wasn't willing to wait. He walked to the grocery store and was using mindfulness techniques to focus on things other than the electricity.

He was identifying the colors of the items he saw: "yellow bananas, green grapes, orange... oranges". The freezer aisle was particularly difficult for him: "white ceiling, green basket, gray floor". About half way through the aisle, it looked as though he was going to collapse, but when we saw him next, he was approaching his house, groceries in hand.
6. When Jimmy told Kim that he injured his back, she was concerned that he wouldn't be able to cover his share of the office expenses, so what did she do?

Answer: Took on another client

During their working lunch, Kevin told Kim about his friend Billy Gatwood at Gatwood Oil who desperately needed legal help. Kim reminded Kevin that she had promised to give Mesa Verde her complete attention, but after her run-in with Howard, Kim told Kevin that she would look over Gatwood's documents and find him a competent attorney.

She was in the process of doing just that when she realized that Jimmy was in trouble -- with his bad back, he might not be able to pay his share of the office expenses, so she contacted Gatwood and told him that she would handle his account.
7. Jimmy's stunt at the music store got him the money he wanted. What other item did he receive?

Answer: A guitar

Kim heard the guitar lick from "Smoke on the Water" coming from Jimmy's office, and when she opened the door, she found him lying on the floor, playing the guitar. He told her that he'd "sold the rest of my ads... They loved the response they got, they were so impressed they threw in this baby, signed by the one and only Richie Blackmore".

When she asked why he was lying on the floor, he explained that he fell while they were working on the production of the commercial. Jimmy paid Kim for six weeks of expenses "so we don't have to talk about THAT".

He apologized for snapping at her, telling her it was because of his back hurting. Kim told him to rest and let his back recover -- she could cover their expenses until he was feeling better. Jimmy declined the offer, saying that he'd do what he needed to do to cover his portion. Kim apparently didn't believe him because she contacted Billy Gatwood and told him that she would handle his account.
8. Nacho planned to switch Hector's medicine, but for the plan to work, he needed to have Hector remove his jacket. How did he accomplish this?

Answer: Disabled the air conditioning

During the night, Nacho climbed onto the roof of El Michoacano, the restaurant at which Nacho met with his dealers each week to collect their money, under Hector's supervision. He stabbed holes into a couple of the metal lines, releasing steam. The next day, a sign was placed in the restaurant: "Perdone la molestia. El AC no funciona".

At first, Hector kept his jacket on, but eventually he took it off, placing it on the back of his chair. Nacho had spent time practicing how to casually drop the pill bottle into the pocket of a jacket on a chair, so it was exactly where he needed it.

He first needed to remove the bottle from Hector's jacket, and he did so by pretending that one of the $50 bills didn't look OK, so Hector asked to see it. Nacho was behind him while Hector examined the bill, and Nacho reached in the pocket to get the pill bottle, but it wasn't in that pocket. So then Nacho dropped the cash and while he was picking it up, he found the pill bottle in another pocket.

He then had to switch the pills and get the bottle back in the jacket.

When he had practiced the maneuver, he constantly missed the pocket, but this time all went well.
9. Jimmy helped one of his fellow community service workers leave early and get credit for working his full hours. Why did the man claim he needed to leave?

Answer: His child was in the hospital.

Jimmy had identified one of the community service workers as a drug dealer and knew that the man had a stash of money in his sock. The man said that he had just received a call from his girlfriend who said their daughter was sick in the hospital. He asked the foreman if he could leave; the foreman said sure, but he wouldn't get credit for his hours. Jimmy overheard the conversation and told the man that for $700, Jimmy would get him out of community service and allow him to get credit for his hours. Jimmy didn't believe that the man's child was really sick; he thought the man wanted to get to a drug deal, but Jimmy wanted the cash and also wanted to rest his back, and he believed he could do both by intimidating the foreman. Jimmy lay down on the ground and refused to get up when the foreman came over.

When the foreman said Jimmy wasn't getting his hours, Jimmy claimed he was going to sue him. Jimmy said he'd include the other man to "make it a class action thing" because the foreman "knowingly prevented him from visiting his child in the hospital".

The foreman said that Jimmy wouldn't win the lawsuit, but Jimmy did the math: "A lawyer is gonna cost you about $90 an hour, and you're looking at eight to ten months of litigation minimum". Jimmy said that he and the judge "would gladly spend the next five years in the courtroom" but that the foreman would lose his house, car and pension because it would be so expensive. The foreman was just scared enough to agree to Jimmy's terms: The drug dealer got to leave, Jimmy got to rest his back, and they both kept their hours.
10. Mike met with Gus Fring at Los Pollos Hermanos late one evening. What did he want Gus to help him with?

Answer: Laundering his money

Mike still had a lot of cash leftover from robbing Hector's truck - about $200k; he kept it under the floorboard in a closet. He had used small amounts in the past - for example, he bought the supplies to help build the children's playground, but he was concerned that if anything happened to him, his family wouldn't get the rest of the money. So he met with Gus Fring one evening after hours at Los Pollos Hermanos.

He was looking for "a one-time arrangement" with Fring to launder the money. Gus's initial response was that "it would be unwise for us to be publicly associated", but Gus thought of a possible solution, although he said it might be difficult.

When Mike offered 20 percent to "overcome this difficulty", Gus wouldn't accept: "I would not take money from your family".
