Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. As part of his pre-prosecution diversion deal, Jimmy had to participate in community service. Where was he assigned to work?

Answer: Albuquerque Parks Department

Jimmy and the other workers would meet at the Albuquerque Parks Department building where they would board a van that would drive them to their work site. The first site we saw Jimmy working at was under a highway overpass. As the workers were picking up trash, we saw a new deposit dropped from a passing car.
2. Jimmy worked four hours on his first day of community service. Why did he only get credit for thirty minutes?

Answer: He was talking on his phone.

While Jimmy was picking up trash under an overpass, he was answering calls for Saul Goodman Productions, and he also was on the phone trying to get his malpractice insurance refunded. When he returned to the van at the end of the shift, the supervisor ("Law and Order: SVU" alum Frank Deal) marked down 30 minutes on his card.

The supervisor told him that it was because he was on the phone: "Think of community service as your jail time. No phones allowed in jail". Jimmy argued that he had collected more trash than the others, but it didn't sway the supervisor.

When Jimmy said that the supervisor could do better than 30 minutes, the man responded: "I could make it zero". Later when Jimmy had Chinese food delivered for Kim and himself at the office, he only had a dollar for a tip.

When the delivery guy questioned "a dollar?", Jimmy used the same line: "We can make it zero".
3. After his first day of community service, Jimmy rushed off to film a commercial. What product did the customer sell?

Answer: Recliners

The customer was Duke City Recliners, and the commercial showed the owner relaxing in one of his chairs. The owner told Jimmy that his wife didn't want him to make the commercial, and he just couldn't afford to make more than one. Jimmy was desperate to sell all of the commercial time and tried to sell him a discounted rate of $500 a commercial if he bought the package, but the man said he couldn't do it unless Jimmy would take credit, which he couldn't.

After getting paid for the commercial and paying his assistants, Jimmy was left with $104.95.
4. Daniel "Pryce" Wormald, the pharmaceutical dealer from seasons one and two, was back. Who was waiting in his living room when he returned home one evening?

Answer: Nacho

Wormald's last dealings with Nacho didn't go well; Nacho ended up stealing his baseball card collection, and Wormald only had it returned thanks to Mike's negotiations with Nacho. This time, Nacho told him he wasn't after the baseball cards; he wanted empty nitroglycerin capsules and was willing to pay $20,000 for them. Wormald asked Mike to provide bodyguard service as before, which Mike initially declined, but he was curious about Nacho's plan for the capsules, and a later conversation with Anita caused him to change his mind.
5. Kim was beginning to regret their treatment of Chuck at the disciplinary hearing. Whom did she snap at during a meeting over banking rules in Utah?

Answer: Paige

Mesa Verde was apparently looking at expansion into Utah so Kim was meeting with Paige to go over the details. Paige admitted to Kim that she looked at the transcripts from the disciplinary hearing: "What you did to Charles, you and James set him up perfectly. You destroyed him!" Paige was clearly pleased with the outcome, but it was eating away at Kim.

When Paige questioned the loan to deposit ratios, Kim snapped at her: "The numbers are right, but you can review the guidelines if you want". She then dropped a heavy book on the table in front of Paige. Paige backed down, and then Kim apologized for being unprofessional: "There's no excuse for talking to you like that". Kim then told her that "as far as I'm concerned, all we did was tear down a sick man". Later when Jimmy and Kim were at a bar, Kim told him that she kept wondering if there hadn't been another way to get Jimmy out of disbarment.

Much like Howard's speech to Chuck, Jimmy told her to "put him in the rear view mirror. He's not worth thinking about."
6. Jimmy's car wouldn't start after he picked up the film crew. How did they get to their next commercial shoot?

Answer: The bus

Jimmy rushed over to pick up the crew following his community service shift, but when they all got in the car, it wouldn't start. Everyone had an opinion: "I think you're flooding it", "You're over-cranking it", and "You drained the battery". Finally, Jimmy followed the makeup artist's suggestion that they take the bus. "Film crew! Hold up the bus!", Jimmy yelled as they ran toward it.
7. The next commercial filming took place at a music store. What deal did Jimmy end up making to get the owners to film a commercial?

Answer: He filmed it for free.

Randy and Jason Sklar portrayed the twin owners of ABQ in Tune music store. They were having second thoughts because of the cost and because of the time slot: "'Murder She Wrote' repeats? C'mon!" Jimmy pointed out that grandparents bought instruments for the grandchildren: "Those social security checks got to be spent somewhere". Jimmy then offered them a 50% discount, but they still turned it down. Jimmy then said that he would shoot the spot for free, and "when you see more traffic coming through here, and you will, then we do the other spots for the original rate".

After the shoot, Jimmy paid his assistants, leaving him with a few bucks. As he dejectedly sat on the curb, the makeup artist tried to give him her share, but Jimmy told her everything would be OK.
8. Mike became friends with Anita, one of the members of the support group that Stacey attended. How had Anita lost her husband?

Answer: He never returned from a hiking trip.

Anita (another "Law and Order: SVU" alum Tamara Tunie) chatted with Mike briefly while they were working on the cement sidewalk for the children's playground. At the therapy session, Anita mentioned that she finally donated her husband's clothes except for his uniform.

The word "uniform" got Mike's attention, and he later asked her if her husband had been a cop. Turned out that he had served in the Navy, but it started them talking, and Anita told the story of her husband's disappearance. He was an avid outdoorsman; they had even opened a camping supply store. Eight years ago, he went on a hike in a national park but never returned.

His car was found, but she had no idea what happened to him.
9. When Pryce and Mike went to meet Nacho, Mike talked with Nacho before the deal. What advice did he give Nacho regarding Nacho's plans to do away with Hector?

Answer: Switch the pills back

Mike asked Nacho why he wanted the pills, and Nacho said that Hector wanted to use Nacho's father to move product: "My dad is a straight arrow. He won't stand for it, which means, he goes to the police, which means he's a dead man. And that's not happening". Mike asked how Nacho planned to carry it out, and Nacho explained that Hector kept the nitroglycerin pills in his coat pocket and that he'd switch them when Hector hung up his coat. "Lotta eyes on Salamanca", said Mike, "You do this, how are you going to stop them from finding out it was you?" Nacho said that he knew who he was dealing with, but Mike wasn't sure; he went to check if there was a tracking device in Nacho's gas cap (there wasn't).

He told Nacho, "There are more people than the Salamancas to worry about here". Mike then explained that Nacho needed to switch the pills back after Hector took them in case anyone looked at the pills to see why they didn't work. Nacho considered this and nodded.
10. Jimmy met with a representative of the malpractice insurance company. He was unsuccessful in getting his insurance refunded, however he left the office with a smug look of satisfaction on his face. What had he managed to do?

Answer: Alert the company to Chuck's mental status

Jimmy didn't have his account number, so the rep had to look up his name: "Charles McGill of Hamlin Hamlin and McGill?" After being told that Charles was his brother, the rep found Jimmy's account. She informed him that his account was paid through the end of the year and that their policy was not to refund the payment, even if Jimmy wasn't practicing as a lawyer because he would still be covered if one of his prior clients brought a lawsuit against him.

In addition, she informed him that when he did resume his practice, his premium would increase 150 percent. Jimmy looked shocked and then the weight of his situation appeared to crush him.

There were tears in his eyes: "I'm just having a rough time. I just need a break, just one break". Initially, it appeared that Jimmy was truly distraught, but then the idea to drag Chuck into it must have popped into his head.

He told the rep that his brother was sick: "He's alone. I spent years caring for him, and now he hates me. The only family I got left and he hates me.

He hates my guts". The rep asked if he was talking about Charles. When Jimmy nodded yes, he continued: "He's mentally ill. He's holed up in a house with no electricity. He's working by the light of gas lanterns. He's making mistakes with his clients - mixing up numbers on important documents. He had a complete mental breakdown at the bar hearing". When the rep repeated his words that Chuck had a breakdown in court, Jimmy said that it was in the transcripts. The rep started jotting down notes, and Jimmy asked her not to write it down: "I don't want him to get in trouble because of me". The look on his face as he was leaving told us otherwise.
