Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the flashback at the beginning of the episode, Chuck had to explain to Rebecca why the lights were out. What excuse did he use?

Answer: The city had shut off his electricity by mistake.

Jimmy was helping Chuck get ready for dinner with his ex-wife Rebecca, but he advised Chuck to tell her the truth about his illness: "You sure this is the right play? In my experience, the bigger the lie, the harder it can be to dig out". Chuck responded, "I'll cross that bridge when I come to it".

When Jimmy arrived at the house with Rebecca, Jimmy played along - he was the one who initially asked why the electricity was out, and Rebecca added that she had the same question. Chuck explained that he was cooking dinner when the power went out.

He called the electric company and discovered that his electricity had been accidentally turned off: "The deadbeat at 512 San Cristobal hasn't been paying his bills, and of course, I'm 215". Oh no - transposed numbers! Chuck said that he was almost finished cooking dinner when the power went out so he borrowed camping gear from a neighbor and finished the meal.
2. What item of Rebecca's did Chuck toss across the room in the flashback at the beginning of the episode?

Answer: Cell phone

While Chuck and Rebecca were chatting at the table after dinner, Rebecca's cell phone rang. She said it was her conductor and she had to take the call, apologizing profusely to Chuck. Chuck began to have an attack and finally got up and went into the kitchen, however Rebecca followed him, bringing in dishes from the table as she talked on the phone. Jimmy tried to get her out of there but she was focused on her call. Finally it was too much for Chuck, and he grabbed her phone and tossed it across the room.

When Rebecca asked him what his problem was, he responded, "It is incredibly bad manners to answer a cell phone in company. It's very rude". Rebecca apologized and said that it was time for her to go. Jimmy tried to get Chuck to tell her the truth, but he wouldn't do it.
3. Jimmy finally got to meet the vet. What animal did he bring to his appointment?

Answer: Goldfish

We saw Jimmy sitting in the vet's waiting room, holding a plastic bag of water with a goldfish in it. Beside him was a man with an iguana and a woman with a dog, who gave him an odd look (the woman, not the dog). The vet promptly chewed Jimmy out for not having enough oxygen for the fish: "You're suffocating her!" Jimmy joked about seeing the lipstick when the vet said that the fish was a female which drew an angry response from the vet: "This is a living creature.

It's not a piece of furniture. So after this, you take her home. You put her in a big bowl - at least a gallon..." Jimmy responded, "Alright, alrighty Jacques Cousteau, point made".

After the fish lesson, Jimmy and the vet got down to business. Jimmy said he was "looking for someone with a light touch. I'm not talking some teenager taking a five-finger discount on string cheese at the stop and shop. I need highly skilled, high end, discreet, a real pro".

The vet asked if the person needed to fit in "a tight space". When Jimmy said no, the vet responded that he had "just the guy then".
4. After Kevin and Paige left the successful hearing for the Mesa Verde bank expansion, Kim told them about Chuck's allegations of the forged documents. Did Kevin terminate their relationship with Kim?

Answer: No

Kim was waiting outside while Kevin and Paige met with the committee chairman Mr. Ughetta regarding the bank expansion. After the meeting, Mr. Ughetta complimented Kim on her fine work: "Very refreshing. We're happy to get this one off the docket". Kevin and Paige were complimentary too, with Kevin telling her that she would be getting a lot more work. Kim then disclosed the situation with Chuck: "Charles thinks that Jimmy somehow took control of your documents while he was working on them at his home.

He believes Jimmy transposed the address numbers... I wanted to tell you this in the spirit of full disclosure. I thought it was better if you heard it from me". Kim told them that she understood if they wanted to discuss other options if they weren't comfortable working with her, but Kevin dismissed this: "If there's one thing I cannot abide, it's a man who won't own up to his mistakes. Now whatever mud McGill is slinging is not going to screw me out of the best outside counsel I've ever had".
5. Prior to the disbarment hearing, Robert Alley of the State Bar showed Chuck the room where the hearing would be held to make sure that Chuck would be comfortable. What items in the room was Alley unable to shut off?

Answer: Exit signs

Chuck and Howard viewed the room prior to the hearing with Robert Alley who would be prosecuting the case. As Alley entered the room, he turned off the lights. He told Chuck that they wouldn't use microphones and that they would collect cell phones from everyone before Chuck testified. Chuck then asked to have the court reporter moved away from the witness stand, and Alley said that he thought it would be possible to move him/her to the back of the court.

When Chuck looked at one of the neon red exit signs, Alley said, "I'm sorry, there's nothing I can do about the exit signs.

It's code".
6. After Chuck and Howard had viewed the room prior to the hearing, Howard tried to convince Chuck not to testify. What was his concern?

Answer: Bad publicity for the firm

Howard told Chuck that he didn't need to testify because both he (Howard) and the private detective who they'd hired could provide witness testimony before the panel. Chuck realized that Howard's concern was not because of Chuck's health: "This isn't about me or my health.

This is about P.R.". Howard admitted: "We lost a client. That happened because while you were incapacitated, your brother accessed documents that should have been secured at HHM." Howard pointed out that, "one of my jobs is to safeguard the firm's reputation". Chuck dismissed his concerns: "This is not the time to worry about how we look"; he wanted to make sure that Jimmy was disbarred, not merely suspended.
7. Howard was the first witness for the prosecution that we saw. What excuse did he provide for not promoting Jimmy out of the mail room after Jimmy passed the Bar?

Answer: Nepotism

When Kim cross-examined Howard, he admitted that he had a favorable opinion of Jimmy and that he called him "Charlie Hustle" when he worked in the mailroom. He also admitted that he was surprised when he found out that Jimmy had received his law degree and passed the Bar.

When Kim asked if he had considered hiring Jimmy as a lawyer, Howard said that the partners did briefly but that they were concerned about the appearance of nepotism. "Your firm is Hamlin Hamlin and McGill, right? Who's the other Hamlin?" asked Kim. Howard stared at her for several seconds before answering "my father". Howard admitted that it was Chuck who was the most concerned about nepotism. Robert Alley objected to the questioning, but the chairman of the panel allowed Kim to continue with the warning: "Don't stray too far. Charles McGill is not the subject of this hearing".
8. As Howard and Chuck were heading up the stairs to the hearing, Chuck bumped into a man who was heading down the stairs. What did the man put in Chuck's pocket?

Answer: Battery

The man was Huell Babineaux, who "Breaking Bad" fans know as Saul Goodman's future bodyguard, and honestly, when the vet asked if the man had to fit into tight places, we knew he was talking about Huell, didn't we? Huell was heading down the stairs with a newspaper in his hand.

When he bumped into Chuck, the paper ended up in Chuck's hands, and Chuck returned it to him. Later, while Chuck was testifying, Jimmy nodded at Francesca, and she left the room and shortly returned with Huell.
9. After the prosecution rested, who walked into the courtroom with Francesca while Chuck was on the stand, waiting for Jimmy's cross-examination?

Answer: Chuck's ex-wife Rebecca

Earlier during the hearing, Jimmy had whispered to Francesca to ask her why she was still there and was told, "Flight's delayed". After the prosecutor finished his questioning of Chuck, Kim asked for a moment to confer with Jimmy to stall until Francesca returned with the surprise guest. Chuck clearly was shocked to see her.

As Howard and Jimmy talked to Rebecca, Chuck asked the chairman "for a moment, to get a breath", and the chairman granted a fifteen minute break. Chuck initially thought that Jimmy had subpoenaed her, but she dismissed the idea - she said that Jimmy had sent her pictures of the house and that he was concerned.

She said, "I wish you had told me. I can't believe what you've been going through". Rebecca could tell that Chuck was rattled, and she offered to leave, but Chuck said that he wanted her to stay: "You've been sold a bill of goods, Rebecca, I want you to see what's what".
10. When Jimmy was cross-examining Chuck on the stand, he asked Chuck if he could tell where the nearest source of electricity was coming from. Chuck then asked Jimmy if he had something in his pocket. What did Jimmy pull out of his pocket?

Answer: Cell phone

Before Chuck arrived to the hearing, the room was prepared for him - clerks were sent around the room to collect cell phones and anything electronic. When the clerk asked for Jimmy's phone, he said that he had "left it in the car". When Jimmy questioned Chuck about the specific pain that he experienced with his illness. Chuck stated that electrical products wouldn't bother him "if the currents not flowing". Jimmy then stood closer to the stand and asked Chuck if he could tell where the nearest source of electricity was, so Chuck asked Jimmy if he had something in his pocket. Jimmy pulled out his cell phone: "From this distance you should feel it, and you don't, do you?" Chuck grimaced, but then he picked up the phone and showed everyone that, "just as I thought, there's no battery in here". Chuck then spouted out: "Don't you know by now this is real? I feel this.

It's a physical response to stimuli. It's not a quirk. What do I have to do to prove it to you?" Jimmy responded, "I don't know Chuck, could you reach into your breast pocket and tell me what's there?" Chuck pulled out the battery and threw it to the ground. Jimmy then introduced Huell and said that Chuck had bumped into him in the stairway and that Huell had planted the "fully charged battery on you over an hour and a half ago". Jimmy put the battery in the phone and showed that it was charged.

When the prosecutor objected that "Mr. McGill's mental health is not an issue", Chuck shouted, "I am not crazy!" Chuck then ranted about multiple things that Jimmy had done - all true, but he sounded like a madman with his rant. "You", he yelled at the panel, "You have to stop him", but as he glanced at their faces, he saw their expressions and then those of Rebecca and Howard. He apologized, saying that he had lost his train of thought, but the look on his face said that he had lost more than that.
