The part about the grandfather may contradict information form "The Bard and the Bod" where Abby brings Frank's father to meet Tom. In that episode, Abby claims to be very close to Frank's father and to be the only family he had. In this episode, Frank's "supposed" little sister dies - so how could Frank's father not have had any further family? In addition, Jeremy's grandfather is in a rest home and Abby didn't know. Frank's father should have told Abby if he was in a rest home, so is this the grandfather on Jeremy's father's side? We know Jeremy's father paid for Jeremy, but hadn't had contact since Jeremy was little.

Tom knew the real reason was that he was selfish and called him on it. Jeremy's dad seemed to think that by 'living up to his financial obligations,' he was doing all right for Jeremy.

Abby and Tom ended up having a fight over if Jeremy could stay or not. Tom claimed that the house was bursting at the seams and Jeremy had problems. Abby countered with she had long ago accepted Tom's children and their assorted problems, so he was being mean in not letting Jeremy stay. She stormed out of their room to go downstairs and sleep as that was where all the non-Bradfords stayed.
